COURTNEY ALLAN FATAL FALL PROSECUTION FINDS OOCL GUILTY – Tim Veater

COURTNEY ALLAN FATAL FALL PROSECUTION FINDS OOCL GUILTY – Tim Veater

ref. my earlier piece on the accidental death of Courtney Allan in France
(http://inquiringminds.cc/the-curious-case-of-courtney-allan-was-it-just-another-workplace-accident-or-something-more-sinister-with-connections-to-911-or-china-tim-veater)
here is the update:
“The three sons of a British shipping executive who died after plunging 60ft
down an empty lift shaft on board a Chinese container ship have won an 11-year
battle for justice after a French court found the vessel’s owners criminally
responsible for his death.
The court in Le Havre yesterday found the Hong Kong-based Orient Overseas
Container Line (OOCL) guilty of corporate manslaughter and imposed a €50,000
(£40,000) fine over the death of Courtenay Allan.”

The article is behind a paywall and a Google search reveals no other reports, to
me at least. If others have better access they may like to copy and reproduce
below. Until we see the Court judgement or a report on proceedings, it is
impossible to assess the extent to which the fatal fall was investigated and
explained, or whether the questions I raised remain unanswered. END
