  1. I thought the Russians said it resulted from a Syrian strike on an ISIS/woteva chemical weapons cache. That sounds doubtful to me somehow. Complete speculation, but given the speed of the US missile firing, the planning for which must have been in place way before, I prefer to believe this was yet another joint US/Israel operation through its terrorist arm, to provide the excuse for the former. After all its carbon copy Gouta. Further no sensible government would apportion blame, let alone retaliatory action if it wasn't sure what it was doing in one sense or another. Meanwhile of course we have a rash of European terrorist events to distract, all carrying the Gladio trademark. Given the incendiary nature of the situation, Putin may well be toning down his accusations and substituting a plausible explanation that he knows to be false to give himself more room for manuevre. After all he is still parroting the blatant falsehood that Russia and America are "partners" in their fight against ISIS.
