Chevaline Al Hilli Murders - Eight Years On.
Can eight years have passed since this strange and tragic
case of multiple murders grabbed the attention of people
around the world? It certainly grabbed mine and I devoted many hours to looking into and writing about it. In fact it was the reason for my initial internet presence, that has continued since, for good or ill, with this blog.
Of course I was only one of many that did the same, others in books and newspapers reaching far more people than I ever could. However none of these that I came across in videos and articles ever seemed to address some of the basic questions I posed. As far as I am aware they have never been satisfactorily answered either from official or unofficial sources, either in Britain, where the family lived, or France where they were killed, or anywhere else for that matter.
Despite two extensive investigative teams in both Britain and France, no perpetrator(s) have been apprehended. Indeed not even a plausible explanation agreed. As will be seen, after eight years of intensive work by over two hundred detectives, with all the forensic, diplomatic and communications facilities of several states, the current and best explanation that can be offered is that, in the words of the French Prosecutor, all the victims were, "Just in the wrong place at the wrong time" !
This is highly suspicious and suggestive of nothing other than State obfuscation and cover-up. I suggested that from the very beginning. With so many anomalies, contradictions and peculiarities to the story line, it is more than strange that none of the well publicised media ever appear to focus on them or obtain credible explanations.
By now, there must be general awareness of the phenomenon of the criminal investigations in high profile cases that mysteriously draw a blank, or ends up with a 'suicide' verdict in suspicious circumstances, or even pathetic "wrong place, wrong time" excuses. No planning, no motivation, even when all the facts point to a professional, well organised event, with a plethora of other implicating and incriminating factors. (Do I need to list them all?) Only high level State involvement and over-riding need to stop the truth being revealed can adequately explain it.
Coincidences abound! Now exactly on the eighth anniversary another dead body is discovered only metres from the same spot, having apparently escaped a burning car. This, rather predictably, has initially been put down to suicide. We shall have to await further information about the man and circumstances from the police to ascertain whether it is any way connected to the Al Hillis/Mollier killings.
In addition a story is conveniently released that the French police wish to properly interview the surviving daughters, Zainab and Zeena, now aged 15 and 12 respectively, and the British authorities have agreed. No details have been released how, where and by whom this will be done. The circumstances surrounding interviews, especially of traumatised children, often determine outcomes.
The only information emanating from the children to date is that "there was only one bad man" shooting, but there is much confusing and conflicting evidence that there may have been more. Whoever the shooter was, he had to get to a remote location and also escape from it, effectively with only one route out unless taking an un-made mountain pass.
Information about a motor cyclist interviewed by forestry officials at the critical time was inexplicably held back for over year as was the specific involvement of two motorised forestry teams passing the murder location.
Brett Martin, the English cyclist with a military past, reported a passing large BMW or Range Rover going up and coming back down. For all intents and purposes the occupants of which must be the chief suspects, but can this account be relied upon or was it used as a distraction? Much later the British police issued a supporting story a BMW X5. Given the exclusive type of vehicle, the very tight time scale, and the length of narrow lanes, it is incredible the French police were unable to trace it or why it had to be the British not the French police who chose to announce it.
The time frame was exceedingly tight.
The shooting was estimated to have taken place at 3:35 - 3:40 pm. It is assumed the Al Hillis got there first with enough time to get out of the car and must have passed Martin but he could not recall them doing so. Alternatively could Mollier have got to the 'Martinet' parking spot before the Al Hillis? Certainly the shooting could not take place before Frenchman Mollier had arrived. Interestingly his bike was positioned beyond the parking area, so he must have walked back to Al Hilli's vehicle.
If the killers were in the passing 4x4 , they must have done the deed only minutes before Martin arrived on scene and inevitably passed on the return. This would have required precise timing either by arrangement or via surveillance. In other words nothing less than a military-type assassination squad! The 'double-tap' head shots to all the victims support this view.
Now for a very strange feature of the event that has never been explained. The call reporting the incident to the French emergency services was timed at 3:48. That is less than ten minutes after the shots were fired yet Martin said he heard nothing. Where Mollier had passed him on the way up appears to have been modified but Martin was no slouch on a bike and could not have been far behind in any event.
Immediately the incident was reported by the French authorities, they made it clear that the (un-named at that stage) British cyclist had made the initial call at 3:48. Subsequently Martin in an interview flatly denied it. He said he tried using his mobile phone but had no reception. The account was subsequently subtly altered to be that he left the scene, rode back down the hill, meeting a car coming up with a man and two women in it and it was they who raised the alarm. He and the Frenchman returned to the scene before sapeurs-pompiers, police and ambulance arrived in that order at 4:20 pm.
The directly conflicting report of who made the emergency call (the recorded message would settle it) if indeed it was a Frenchman to a French operator, how and why would it be known or suggested it was the English 'hero' Martin?
But besides this factual error, there is a very significant problem with the timing window.
If the killings took place at 3:40 pm and Martin arrived on scene after the killer(s) had gone, this would mean his arrival time could not have been before 3:45 pm. This affords only 3 minutes to make the emergency call at 3:48. In this three minutes, not only did he check the condition of the little girl he discovered collapsing, but also checked out the cyclist Mollier and the three occupants in the car and then allegedly cycled down the hill to meet the tourist's car, explain what had happened, and them make the call on his instructions. The newspapers inaccurately report he met hikers on foot, whereas it seems they were driving up in a car. This part of the story and the identity of the 'hikers' was also kept secret until after Martin's televised interview denial, threw the initial story into confusion.
This is patently impossible and no one has actually come up with a credible sequence of events. Surely eight years is long enough to do so?
In this context the recently reported quote of Colonel Nicolas Marsol, head of gendarme at the Haute-Savoie, to the local newspaper le Dauphiné Libéré, “No link has been established, and we must not make hasty suggestions [of such]. Investigations are beginning," appears almost satirical.
These are just some of the strange and inexplicable aspects of the story that make it so intriguing to those interested in such things. It should be remembered that 2012 was effectively the start of a Western campaign to destabilise Syria after ten years of such in Afghanistan and Iraq, and of the fabricated threat from Al Qaeda that resulted in a whole series of 'terrorist attacks' in European cities, first in France and then in Britain. Just coincidence?

Corpse found in Alps village scene
of 2012 British killings

Chevaline, a small village in Haute-Savoie, has been rocked by the discovery of another dead body a few hundred metres away from the site of the 2012 murders that killed four people, in a case still unsolved.
4 September 2020
A new body has been found close to a forest path near the village of Chevaline in the Haute-Savoie, just 20km from the city of Annecy.
By Connexion journalist
The charred body was found next to a burned-out car on Wednesday September 2 by the side of a forest road in Chevaline, a small village located 20 kilometres from Annecy in Haute-Savoie (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes).
In a press release, authorities said that the body was found near to the car. Early investigations suggest that the fire started when the victim was already inside, and he then got out of the car before collapsing. Initial identification suggested that the victim was a 70-year-old man from the commune of Doussard, a nearby village.
Investigators have said that they are considering suicide as the most likely motive, but investigations are still ongoing.
The case is now with the gendarmerie and criminal investigation teams at Annecy and Chambéry.
The news comes almost eight years to the day after the bodies of four people were discovered on September 5 2012. The murders shocked the village and wider region at the time and continue to be associated with the name today, eight years on.
Mayor Michèle Domenge-Chenal this week said: “We are feeling anger and fear. We have had enough of our village being associated with violent deaths, even if it’s easy to quickly link this with what happened eight years ago.”
At the time of writing, no link has been suggested between the body found this week and the 2012 murders.
Colonel Nicolas Marsol, head of the gendarmerie at the Haute-Savoie, told local
newspaper le Dauphiné Libéré: “No link has been established, and we must not make hasty suggestions [of such]. Investigations are beginning."

Eight days after she was shot in the shoulder and beaten around the head by the killer, Zainab said there ‘was only one bad man’ involved in the attack.
Twenty-five shots were fired in total, and the four adult bodies were found by Englishman Brett Martin, a former RAF pilot who was out cycling in the area.
Responding to the latest developments, Saad Al-Hilli’s UK-based brother, Zaid Al-Hilli, 61, said: ‘There are a lot of questions that haven’t been answered.’
Despite all this, Ms Denizot said all lines of enquiry had come to nothing, and that a "local motive was the most likely" and that the victims had been "in the wrong place at the wrong time".
Could this case possess some possible relevance?
Alexandre Djouhri case
Alexandre Djouhri (born 18 February 1959, Saint-Denis, France) is a French businessman who currently lives in Geneva, Switzerland. He is suspected of funneling money from former Libyan leader Muammar al-Gaddafi to finance Nicolas Sarkozy's 2007 presidential campaign, allegations he has denied. Sarkozy, who after the successful campaign served as president from 2007 to 2012, has also denied receiving any illicit campaign funding.
Djouhri was arrested at London's Heathrow Airport in January 2018 on a European arrest warrant (EAW) issued by France after arriving on a flight from Switzerland. He was later granted conditional release over health concerns.
In February 2019, Baraitser ordered his extradition over the corruption allegations, including money-laundering, active corruption of a foreign public official, and conspiracy to misappropriate public funds. In the ruling held at London’s Westminster Magistrates' Court, she wrote: "I am satisfied that there is no or insufficient evidence that the French authorities have manipulated or used procedures to oppress or unfairly prejudice Mr. Djouhri... I therefore order the extradition to France of Alexandre Djouhri."
Earlier, in 1981, Djouhri was arrested for an armed robbery of a jewelry store but was later released due to a lack of evidence.

ReplyDeleteUn-brainwashed, un-re-educated cops are getting fewer and fewer it seems. Somewhere along the line the service has been infiltrated and corrupted by a new philosophy and new agenda, which is anti-democratic and anti-populace. We have politicians and the Deep State to thank for that. Who came up with the idea of sending our policemen to train in Israel and adopt their 'anti-terrorist' methods? Who has agreed the militarisation of the police without any democratic debate or oversight? Who has allowed the police to be used as attitude enforcers and the agents of big business? Why is true crime ignored in favour of trivial interference with normal living? We need to ensure that police training gets back to the basic principles enunciated by Peel, grounded in the Common Law and Public Support, without which it will become as unbearable for the police as for the public. veaterecosan
ReplyDeleteCentral to crime and policing, is DRUGS. Until this issue is addressed across the board, crime and violence will continue to be fuelled. Despite all the bold sound-bites coming from government, it's policy and implementation has been an abject failure. The hypocrisy is mind boggling. The criminalisation of Cannabis has not stopped its use but instead merely provided an excuse for prosecution and filling the prisons. It should certainly not be encouraged but nor should it be treated as criminal. Cocaine has been widely used for decades by the very social class that has pretended to oppose it, whilst at the same time facilitating the multi-billion industry. Very strangely the leading lights in its import and distribution never seem to be caught or prosecuted, despite the exceptional powers of the state to monitor and intervene. There must be a reason for this and the explanation cannot be good. In this context the deployment of police resources to enforce mask wearing and the social distancing rules, is a measure not only of stupidity but of a fundamental misunderstanding of the policing role. The police are in danger of relinquishing their 'good guy' status and becoming merely the operative arm of a criminal state.
