"Hillsong has been forced to “apologise unreservedly” after the church’s founder, Brian Houston, was found to have engaged in conduct “of serious concern” by the church.

Following media reports on Friday, the church’s global board said in a statement that Houston had breached Hillsong’s pastor code of conduct in two incidents over the past decade.

“We have sadly been dealing with two complaints made against Pastor Brian over the last 10 years,” the church’s global board said.

The board said the first incident occurred “approximately a decade ago”, in which “inappropriate text messages” from Houston were sent to a staff member, “which subsequently resulted in the employee resigning”."

I have no idea about his father or Hillsong. I am sceptical about all religious organisations and am also very aware of human failings. All I'm saying is, getting drunk once and ending up in a woman's hotel room once in ten years doesn't strike me as being beyond the pale. He may have been better. He may have been worse. Who is to know? Those that live by the sword, die by the sword I suppose. Best not claim super human powers or blame-proof lives. John 8:7.

Tim Veater oh so you are defending him?? Little more research Dear Tim. Tip of the iceberg
Not defending anyone. Don't know the guy. Don't know what he's alleged to have done other than the two incidents referred to. Those as they stand don't appear very damning for the average person. They may be considered worse for a preacher. But there's a huge amount of hypocrisy thrown about by people whose own lives often don't bear much examination.
People are easily led. They are easily duped. They follow any leader. Believe any rubbish. Engage in any movement. Sign up to any cause. Humans believe and disbelieve in equal measure. They herd with those that agree with them. They despise and exclude those that don't. There is no limit to their ability to criticise others for their own faults. Organisations, including religious ones, have all the faults of humans and need to be treated with caution. Once you sign up you are owned by them and it is hard to escape. Stay independent, stay sceptical, I say. Keep your beliefs and actions to yourself.
