David you clearly don't realise the pointlessness of facemasks - even Fauci the head of the CDC said so - either to protect the wearers or others. It is merely signalling, either for claimed virtue or submission and conformity. The fact that it is then used to support the sort of control freakery and repressive violent behaviour evidenced by some police is both sinister and sad. That British minds can be so stupid and complacent about the loss of the basic and unalienable right to breathe the air, unobstructed by a piece of linen (as well as all the other ridiculous restrictions and rules) amazes me, shows how gullible we have become and does not bode well for the future. As always necessary protective measures should be based on science and a sensible balance of risk. What may be desirable in a lab dealing with smallpox, asbestos or radioactive isotopes is not applicable to the general population. The risk from SARS Cov-2 has been misrepresented and exaggerated out of all proportion for very dubious socio/political political purposes. It is incumbent on everyone with a brain to resist the sort of state tyranny we have witnessed on the streets, in people's homes and shopping isles of Sainsbury's on the back over a over-hype 'plague'.
