Conflict or Reconciliation - Personally, Socially? Sir Roger Scruton/Dr. Jordan B. Peterson: Apprehending the Transcendent

  1. I deplore the persecution of Sabine McNeill on trumped-up or greatly exaggerated charges. The sentence was vindictive and wholly disproportionate, even if the allegations were true. It, and earlier proceedings, have brought the whole British Criminal 'Justice' System into disrepute, and proved it is more interested in cover-up of child abuse when prominent persons are involved, than prosecuting it. However to place faith in the EU as an instrument of child protection is in my opinion naive. I very much doubt European countries have been any better in this regard and sadly Sabine placed too much reliance on it - as I suggested at the time. I believe she underestimated how determined secret elements of the State have been, to whitewash and undermine the allegations, as has been shown by the subsequent prosecution of Carl Beech and criticism of the police investigation that continues, and in the consequences for the Chief Constable of Wiltshire in pursuing the late Ted Heath. As Rotherham proved, this is a systemic and widespread issue that agencies have turned a blind eye to and Government is now desperate to wish away.
