Next Phase of Lock-down?

Note how the tropes of disease that isn't really a threat and CO2 that isn't really a problem, are used as an excuse to limit and control freedom of movement and expression and how what appear to be innocuous, even beneficial ideas, can morph into something truly dystopian, even in one of the most distinguished seats of learning.

The comment above was made on the “Oxfordshire Council to Trial a Climate Lockdown Starting 2024” article. It’s difficult to believe this is unfolding, but as good ‘ol Dr Day said in his lecture in 1969, “Everything is in place and nobody can stop us now”.

And Mark W commented on the same article, “Of course, these restrictions only apply to the little people. The masters have no restrictions at all.”

“Under the new scheme if residents want to leave their zone they will need permission from the Council who gets to decide who is worthy of freedom and who isn’t. Under the new scheme residents will be allowed to leave their zone a maximum of 100 days per year, but in order to even gain this every resident will have to register their car details with the council who will then track their movements via smart cameras round the city.”

None of the councillors declared their intention of imprisoning local residents when they were preparing to be elected.

  4. Bloody brilliant idea now we will not have to put up with those Western bogans on our East coast beeches taking all the parking spaces.
    The Whale beach and Avalon beach areas can put up the boom gate in the hill leading into Avalon……. As they have thought of for decades.
    Best of all, the South Coast at Bateman’s Bay and rest of NSW will not have to tolerate all those bureaucrats from Canberra scurrying out of our Capital in the Australian capital Teror-entity.
