Murder in the Alps
It is now nearly ten years since the notorious killing of four people in the remote mountain layby near Chevaline in the French Alps. Despite many unsuccessful lines of enquiry and alleged culprits and conspirators, no one has been charged or convicted of the crime.
The British TV channel, Channel Four, has recently screened three programmes about the event that happened on the 5th September, 2012. It is but the latest of many over the years by a variety of stations in a variety of countries, none of which it appears to me have asked the penetrating questions or focused on the central issues. By and large they all are descriptive in nature and largely repeat the official narrative.
In one respect the Channel Four differed in that it gently criticised the French Prosecutor for obsessing over one theory and suspect - the victim's brother - rather than keeping an open mind to all possibilities, including that the French victim could have been the target, rather than the English family of the Al Hilli's.
This may have some credence, but in a case oozing mystery and misinformation, this may also be yet another ruse to confuse and mislead. Such a precise military style killing, if only one person was the target, would have killed only one person. I do not believe this type of killer would have targeted three other adults and injured a child just because they happened to be there. Any explanation has to involve all the victims. I have always believed that an assignation between the parties and others was always the most logical explanation as is the certainty that it could not have been carried out without the collaboration of unidentified secret state assets.
Prompted by the programme and the up-coming tenth anniversary of these tragic events, I reproduce an article I wrote at the time. Subsequent events and revelation reinforce, rather than undermine the thrust of its argument.

The Unanswered Questions Surrounding
the Al Hilli Murders – by Tim Veater

The mystery surrounding the murder of four adults and the
near-fatal shooting of a little girl in a remote French forest
lay-by, raise many, as yet, unanswered questions.
Not only as to the obvious ones of who carried it out and why, but
also relating to the official governmental response, apparent
conflicting reports by those concerned and a failure on the part of
the press to adequately challenge and independently investigate.
Already the story has slipped from front page, via inside page, to
nowhere at all, which no doubt will please some. The Annecy
prosecutor has even suggested it will not be solved for a decade!
Eric Maillaud, admitted that French police are nowhere near
finding the killers, have no clear motive and no suspect.” Asked
when the crime might be solved, he responded: “We might have the
answers in two, three or ten years – it’s a painstaking procedure.”
This would appear to be a clear case of an official attempt to damp
down speculation and expectation.
If, as in the view of some, this was a very professional operation, it
raises far wider implications than the already serious murder of four
adults. If the public cannot be confident in state revelation and
transparency in such cases, it can only rely on an independent and
investigative press. So far the press has failed miserably; prepared
only to act as a conduit of official briefings; failing to question,
challenge or even point out the inconsistencies and get
explanations for them. It is something that is attempted below.
1.
The French authorities suggested initially, it was
coincidental, impromptu, chance event – a robbery perhaps
that had gone wrong. I don’t believe any police or
government official could have genuinely held this view in
light of the circumstances, namely the “professional” head
shots; all killed; nothing stolen; the effective, unseen
get-away. Then further doubt was added as to whether the
cyclist or the Al Hilli’s were the intended target. However in
both scenarios it was suggested the second party was killed for
“being in the wrong place at the wrong time” thus skilfully
avoiding the possibility that both might have been, as this
would have wider implications of conspiracy.

As corollary to this, the way the obvious suggestion of
criminal or state backed assassination was avoided. John
O’Connor, former head of Scotland Yard’s Flying Squad, told
The Sunday Times “These murders were carried out by killers
with the precision and planning that comes with military
training, which normally points to a political assassination”.
The fact that this possibility has been obdurately avoided
puzzling and worrying as it suggests cover-up.

The time it took for the French police to discover four year
Zeena hidden and catatonic in the car – i.e. more than eight
hours. Perhaps the failure could initially be explained in
terms of not interfering with the crime scene, but eight hours
to make enquiries to discover there were two daughters on
the trip and one was still missing? Further what appears as a
rather amateurish approach to the crime scene with no
evidence of a finger tip search, of opening up to the press
before closing it off again for further investigation when it had
been contaminated. Aerial photographs show the boot door
open despite the doors reportedly being locked. In one aerial
photograph, tyre skid marks can be seen far to the right of the
BMW. A reporter on the scene stated that broken glass was

“fifteen” yards distant from the car, presumably because this
marks where the first shots were fired before the car reversed
into the bank? These facts have never been officially
referred to or properly discussed in the press. Why? A
reporter said that a motor bike track had been left in an
adjoining mountain track which presumably could have been
an alternative escape route? Given the on-going nature of
the enquiries, why was permission given to the family to bury
M. Mollier, rather than retain his body under refrigerated
conditions, in case it was needed for further inspection?

The flatly inaccurate and misleading information put out
initially by the French authorities that the emergency call
informing them of the incident was made by the British
cyclist, later identified as Brett Martin. In fact Mr. Martin
said he could get no signal on his mobile phone and that he
had to leave the scene and injured Zainab, to get help. The
call was eventually made by a French national, Phillipe
Didierjean. There is no way a Frenchman, speaking in
French from his own mobile phone could have been
confused with Englishman Mr. Martin, who clearly is not
fluent in French. This therefore must have been intentional
misinformation, perhaps to protect M. Didierjean who was
not even acknowledged for several days. Mr. Martin stated
that Mr. Mollier overtook him on his bike, yet was dead by
the time he reached the scene. Mr. Martin and Mr. Mollier
were apparently known to each other, being members of the
same French cycling club, yet there is no suggestion of
recognition in his statements, which to say the least, is
surprising.

It would appear from the reports, that the initial telephone
call to police was at 3.48 pm. Yet M. Didierjean says he met
Mr. Martin leaving the scene at about 4.10. pm. Given his
description of events, walking back to the scene with him
and checking it out, particularly Zainab who did not
respond, then walking back down the hill until he got
reception on his phone. This must have added at least
another fifteen minutes – say 4.25 pm – before he could
phone. How can this discrepancy be explained? Then what
of his two female companions and car? Did they drive up or
turn around and go back? Were they witnesses to the scene
or not?

Danielle Polittier(?) a local resident of Chevaline, more than
three kilometres distant, told the BBC that she heard 30
seconds of shooting. If her testimony is reliable, is it possible
Mr. Martin, unless he has a hearing impediment, could not
have heard it, being only moments away. Why does he say
he heard nothing? M. Didierjean not hearing the sound of
gunfire might be explained by virtue of the fact that he was
in a car with companions but what is Mr. Martin’s
explanation?

The conflicting information regarding number and types of
firearms, the number of shots to the victims and the number
of assailants. It was first reported that all the bullets came
from the same semi- automatic pistol, changed to two,
suggesting at least two killers, then back to one. There has
been no convincing explanation how so many bullets were
fired. A Czech made “Skorpion” was suggested. This is a very
old type of gun rather than more modern alternatives, of
which there are many.
Later, the Telegraph reported that it had learned "from
sources close to the investigation", that the four were shot
with a Luger P08, a highly-distinctive weapon, which was
standard issue to the Swiss Army. (It appears that this was a
9mm version – the 7.65 was in fact the PO4) But Browning ,
Glock. Mauser, Luger, Kel-Tec P-32, Beretta, Colt,
Springfield Armory, Mauser, Schnellfeuer, Borchardt,
Heckler & Koch, Kel-Tec all make models that would fit the
bill. The iconic “James Bond”Walther PPK was adopted by
MI5, MI6, Deutsch BND, French SDECE, Israel's Mossad and
a host of other secret operative units, and still used to this
day. The Beretta Model 70 and 71 was a favorite of the Israeli
Mossad and sky marshals, replaced by a 9mm Beretta in the
1970's apparently.
“Fifteen casings” were later changed to “twenty-five”.
Apparently ten of the used cartridges were found under the
car which accounts for the number increasing from 15 to 25
and a number were found inside the car, but the implications
have not been discussed. (Ed. Note. This has finally been stated to be 21! 1.7.2022)
Why the conflicting weapon evidence? Why was the
impression given that the weapon was probably old and
obsolete and the link with “Serb Paramilitaries”? It was stated
that three victims were shot in the head, later changed to all.
The French cyclist M. Mollier was said to be shot seven times,
including two head shots. This later changed to five.
Originally some were said to have been shot twice. A little
later the prosecutor stated all the adults had been shot
“several times”.
This is clearly confusing. Why was misleading information
put out until they were quite sure of the facts? No further
information regarding trajectory or injuries, which of course
will afford further clues as to what happened, has been issued.
Perhaps the French authorities should inform us definitively,
how many times the victims were shot and where; how many
guns of what possible types, were used; and explain why so
many different accounts have been made?

Much was made by Mr. Martin of the “green four wheel drive
and motor bike” but this raises more questions than it
answers. First, if Mr Mollier was shot only because he
witnessed events, why was Mr. Martin, another potential
witness, spared a similar fate? He must have arrived almost
immediately after the last shot was fired, as little Zainab was
still stumbling and the car wheels were still spinning. Unless
the assassin(s) escaped through the woods and used an
alternative route back, they must have passed him. Second,
precisely where and when did he see them? Statements vary
and include both overtaking him on the way up and passing
on the way down. Given the isolated nature of the location
and the narrowness of the road, and his extensive training as
a fighter pilot, he surely could not be uncertain or vague

about such a thing? However a vehicle coming down the four
kilometre road is flatly denied by M. Didierjean who was
driving up behind. He could not have been mistaken as he
would have needed to pull over. How can this conflicting
witness evidence be reconciled?

A similar conflict of testimony exists over the state of Zainab
and position of the bodies. Mr. Martin says she was covered
in blood, Mr. Didierjean states quite the opposite that no
blood or injuries were immediately obvious. Mr. Martin says
he moved her body away from the front of the car in case it
lurched forward, placing her in the recovery position. M.
Didierjean says when he arrived, Zainab was lying in front of
the car, by which time she was quite unconscious and did not
respond.

No one has quite explained why Zainab was outside the car
when the attack took place, whilst the car doors were locked,
or why the front passenger seat was vacant? Nor has an
explanation been propounded why in such an expert
operation, the life of Zainab was spared. It surely cannot be
explained by virtue of running out of bullets as suggested?
The precise location and injuries of the French cyclist M.
Mollier are obviously critical. M. Didierjean reported that he
showed no injuries commensurate with falling off his bike. If
correct this would indicate he was shot whilst walking
presumably towards the car. Was the front seat vacated for
this purpose? Why have the papers not posed this question?

Similarly amazingly little background to any of the known
participants has been published. Some sources state Mr.
Martin is the sole proprietor of a company with liabilities
three times its roughly £200,000 assets. Is this in fact correct
and what did this entail since he retired from his RAF post,
apparently involved in understanding aircraft armament
systems. Similarly, precisely what did M. Mollier’s work
entail working for the French nuclear technology
conglomerate, Areva? Mr. Al Hilli was apparently involved
in aircraft design and satellite technology. We do not know
what M. Didierjean does for a living but even so is it wholly
co-incidental that two victims and primary witness, had
connections with either aeronautics or nuclear technology?
It appears Mr. Martin left for Britain immediately after the
incident and the French authorities raised no objection to
this despite him being the principal witness. How did he get
back and was he given Government assistance to do so?

A local Bricklayer-stonemason Laurent Fillion-Robin, 38,
witnessed Al Hilli’s red BMW pass, up Route de la Combe
d’Ire towards the car park between 2:30-3:00 PM. He also
says they were not being followed. We are told the crime is
reported at 3.48 pm despite the fact that M. Didierjean said
he did not even arrive until 4.10 and then had to return
down the hill to get reception on his phone. The police
reported they arrived about 4 pm, i.e. before M. Didierjean.
How is this possible? So who did phone the police or are all
the times given unreliable? Why have the papers not
pursued the time line to clarify it?

Sylvie Lecouer, 49, coming back from grocery shopping at 4
pm or slightly after, was nearly run off the road by a speeding
Peugot 306. She described him as a “British” man (we don’t
quite know why) with black crew-cut hair and black polo
neck shirt driving in a panic. This car as far as we know has
not been traced or the driver come forward to be eliminated
from the investigation, which must raise suspicions. However
if he is a suspect, the question remains as to his involvement.
Could he have been a killer, an arranged contact or just a
terrified witness trying to get away? If he was part of a
conspiracy to kill, it would mean at least three persons were
involved, that is if Mr. Martin’s story about the motor bike
and green x4 wheel drive, are to be believed.

A question also remains as to why Mr. Al Hilli went to that
remote location and took his family, yet it would appear,
giving no appearance of picnicking or walking. He was there
for about an hour before disaster struck. What could have
been the purpose other than for a rendez-vous? If so with
whom? With M. Mollier, Mr. Martin, his killers or someone
else?

There have been published maps of the scene but these have
been generally very poor and no attempt has been made to
clearly define the alternative routes available and their
respective conditions and destinations, or how these relate to
the witness statements. They assume that only the metalled
road was used but of course this might not be the case.

If neither car nor possessions were stolen we must assume
motive lies elsewhere. None of the three lines of enquiry
mentioned by the investigating officer include potential state
involvement. Indeed the official lines, of family feud over
disputed inheritance, or violent nephew have the appearance
of detracting from the possibility. However the statement
that the origins lie in the United Kingdom whilst deflecting
attention from France, also, perhaps accidentally, confirm
they know this to be a planned event, not a chance one as
was originally suggested. If planned it must have been
meticulously planned, for how else would the car have been
located in such a remote spot other than arrangement or
surveillance?
17.
Very little journalistic attention has been directed towards
the companies for which the victims and witnesses worked or
were associated. Why? They have remained opaque and
low-profile. Both Mr. Martin and Mr. Al Hilli were involved
in aircraft design, with either or both of the British and
European aircraft industries. Mr. Martin of course was an
ex-RAF pilot and was then involved in weapons systems and
"consultancy". His company Silver Fern (Sussex) Ltd., 55
Prices Gate, Exhibition Road, London SW72PN, founded in
2006, is classified at Companies House as, "Other
professional, scientific and technical activities not elsewhere
classified". Income is limited to about £21,000 pounds, despite
listed liabilities of over £600,000.

Mr. Al Hilli worked for a company (Surrey Satellites
Technology Limited (SSTL) near Guildford) developing

satellite systems. He was part of a team involved in an
undisclosed project linked to European Aeronautic Defence
and Space. He also had his own company - "Shtech", an
aeronautical business, which he ran with his wife Iqbal and
which had sub-contracted with SSTL. It registered £8,330
profit in 2011. In the 1980's he had been employed at the
internationally-renowned Rutherford Appleton Research
Centre in Didcot, Oxon, where a colleague reported he
worked on a giant particle accelerator, which can make
radioactive material.

Mr. Mollier worked for CEZUS located in Ugine, France.
This centre is dedicated to R&D on Zirconium alloys,
focusing on process and metallurgy. (A question remains
why the Daily Mail referred inaccurately to “a company
producing stainless steel products” instead of Areva’s Cezus
R&D zirconium products for the nuclear industry?) It is a
cornerstone of innovation and is known worldwide. It is part
of Areva, a nuclear multinational, which is also involved
with uranium enrichment and high-tech metallurgy in the
nuclear industry. It also has ties with Eurodif. During the
reign of the Shah, Iran acquired a 10% stake in Eurodif. In
2011 the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC)
awarded six contracts, including to Areva, relating to the
supply of natural uranium concentrates, conversion and
enrichment services, worth some $3 billion for the Barakah
nuclear power plant planned to start generating in 2017.
What are the chances of so many concurrencies in one
iconic crime scene, at a location that recalls Britain's own
nuclear programme called “Chevaline”?

It was reported that within hours a party of "military" types
had arrived from the British Embassy. Is this highly unusual
response, if in fact true, and why has the press not asked for
confirmation? Did they assist the removal of Mr. Martin
back to Britain?
The French and British authorities must be in possession of a
wealth of information from both covert and investigative sources
that they are not revealing. We must assume they are in full
possession of all of Mr Al Hilli's telephone and computer
communications, via GCHQ. As someone who was directly
monitored in 2003 (indeed according to a neighbours account,
physically followed) and involved with the defence industries and
Iraq, can hardly have been expected to have been dropped from
surveillance completely. Police are in possession of his mobile
phones and computers which must have afforded detailed
information on his contacts immediately prior to his murder. And
how about Mr Mollier's and Mr Martin's phones? What, if
anything, do they reveal? Surely they cannot have been
overlooked? Not only so but they must have details via the
telephone companies, of all calls and locations of mobile phones in
the vicinity of Chevaline on the day in question, including
chillingly the killers, unless they were so professional as not to carry
them. How can Mr. Maillaud say there are “no leads”, unless to
intentionally misinform?
That this was a professionally executed operation, cannot be
doubted. The use and accuracy of semi-automatic weapons and the

way the killers “have disappeared off the map”, cannot be
co-incidental. Mr. Al Hilli maintained contacts with Iraq and was
a practising Shiite. He was vocal in his condemnation of Israel and
the United States on the internet. He evidenced raised anxiety
over his home and camping location. He went on his European trip
precisely when his children should have been returning to school,
all of which points to a purpose beyond purely recreation. Two
head shots is militaristic and deadly certain. If a state is implicated,
the question is which state would wish these individuals dead and
why? Oh and finally, why is this question NOT being posed by
Western Governments, specifically in Britain and France, or
media?
Governments involved in assassination, and there have been recent
high-profile cases, rely on the fact that the public and media will
gradually lose interest and that other world and local events will
eventually bury the story. It is to be hoped that insofar as we still
retain independent institutions and press, this particularly brutal
story will not receive the same fate, for in the end, a truthful
examination and investigation of crime, however caused and
wherever it may lead, is the only guarantee of our own security and
freedom; the only thing that distinguishes our democratic political
system and a despotic, totalitarian one.

Apparently the man is not Eric Devouassoux, a former policeman, who was arrested over the killings in February and was held for four days but “another man”, who for some reason was not named, although he is described as a fifty year old former Legionnaire. He lived in the same township – Ugine – as Sylvain Mollier the “uninvolved cyclist” who was shot many times on the same day as the Al Hilli’s. He was found dead at his home on Tuesday (3rd June, 2014) afternoon , apparently shot dead, which the Mail reports M. Mailaud confirmed the man died on Tuesday but how this was decided is not described. Normally such statements could be taken at face value but given the deplorable record of unreliable statements in this case, we would be well advised to remain sceptical unless proved otherwise.
Given the many strange co-incidences of place and timing of the original massacre, it is at least worth noting the fact that the preceding Saturday May 31st was the anniversary of the execution of Adolf Eichmann in Israel following his kidnapping and abduction in South America and subsequent trial for the murder of thousands of European Jews during the Second World War. That was fifty two years ago. Both this un-named man and Saad al Hilli were fifty years old at the time of their deaths.
There again appears to be an element of confusion over the written note. Some newspapers report seven pages, some six. To cover the point the Daily Mail reports the Public Prosecutor as “six or seven”. Well if he’s not sure, who can be? It reminds me of the far more important matter of the shots fired, which incredibly, even with the passage of twenty-one months, has never been fully settled.
Ah now to the brief details, the Daily Mail adds that “police found evidence of a violent disturbance”, yet despite this, the supine French police are “working on the theory it was suicide”. So who and why the “violent disturbance”? Do people who sit down calmly writing a last will and testament (for arguments sake) suddenly go berserk before pointing the gun at themselves? Doesn’t a violent disturbance point to others present and therefore foul play? Can there be any confidence in a police force that at least considers this a possibility?
It would appear throughout this enquiry the only thing the French authorities have proved is their own incompetence. The only other conclusion is far more sinister.

Another strange co-incidence is the fact that the current case in which the British Government is attempting to try two men for “terrorist offences” applies to a period that happens to cover the period in which Chevaline took place – namely “February 2012 to October, 2013″. I am confident the Government would tell us if by any chance they are related. Oh on second thoughts we can’t be sure of that can we?

Chevaline: Just another co-incidence perhaps?

Hello there people. Pleased to see you are still at it and been working on organising the various theories. I just popped in as I came across a Google reference and wondered what your take would be on Tuesday’s suicide. I notice several have made interesting observations above so for what it’s worth will add a few of my own.
First it shows our friend the Public Prosecutor is still in post and still the spokesperson for matters Chevaline. This tells me, despite the charade of an investigation and the plethora of what can only be described as lies, not to mention the failure to provide any answers to perhaps the most pressing issue of the presence of the forestry guys just when the murders were happening (both immediately before and after) he is still retained. In any other circumstance such a performance would have required a diplomatic “early retirement” or reassignment. The fact that this hasn’t happened can only mean that he has political backing and given the high profile of the case, this must go right to the very top. It confirms this is no ordinary crime and that Maillaud’s role as the “front guy” is protected on a mutual basis.
Second, as I have suggested many times, both the information given out and the information retained are indicators of what is going on, even if imprecise in the extreme. Mr Mailaud has been a stickler for secrecy, except when it suited him to do otherwise. In this recent case note what he is prepared to say and what he isn’t. The name of the deceased has not, as yet at any rate been released in sharp contrast to M. Eric Devouassoux, the former policeman, either when he was interviewed over a year ago or now. The question arises why was one treated so differently to the other?
Third on the same tack, despite retaining the name of the dead man (surely untypical of procedure in a case of suicide?) the secrecy obsessed PP nevertheless tells us enough, prior to autopsy notice, that this was most likely suicide, conveniently established by a “six or seven page” written letter, which he has no difficulty summarising despite its highly personal, and therefore we would assume prohibited nature. This can only be regarded with deep suspicion given his track record and another obvious feature, namely why, if he was in possession of such a crucial document and clearly having read it with his forensic legal mind, would he be in any doubt about how many pages there were? “Six or seven pages” is ridiculous, it could only be one or the other, and very reminiscent of the imprecision over the number and destination of the bullets at Chevaline. Eric has clearly learned nothing from that experience.
Fourth, I find the interpretation he puts on the contents of the letter without question, highly dubious. He has no qualms about accepting it at face value and does not even consider the possibility of duress. Here we have it is alleged a seasoned and hardened ex-soldier who kills himself for no other reason than that the police interviewed “disturbed” him, because it “made him feel like a suspect”. Really does this sound plausible? OK we know that suicide is a significant factor in PTSD but would not depression be a factor or some reference be made to past military activity? No it is just that police interviewed him. This is simply not believable and with the next point even less so.
Fifth, some news reports, the Daily Mail being one, quote police sources as saying there was evidence of “violent disturbance” yet this appears to trouble M Maillaud not at all. Despite this crucial fact he is able to ignore it and jump immediately to the conclusion this was “suicide”. This appears to be quite typical of his approach to crime scenes. He makes his mind up despite claiming to keep all options open. He refuses to acknowledge or explain contra-indications to his chosen interpretations. He comes out with inane observations of the blindingly obvious as he did at Chevaline (“this was a violent person who has probably killed before”) whilst promoting an explanation before the scientific results are in. This is so contrary to sound practise for either police or legal profession it must point to ulterior factors.
Sixth, there are the coincidences of which Chevaline and associated incidents have been suffused: same village as SM; military background, sharp-shooter, gun collector, Gulf/Serbia connections; age at death same as SAH (50); and finally close to the 52nd anniversary of Eichmann’s execution (31st May – the previous Saturday). These are no more than strange coincidences but interesting ones to add to the many earlier ones. How many are needed before they can be ignored no longer?
Finally we are all aware of a catalogue of murders dressed up as suicide. It can never be excluded as a possibility until all the forensic and other matters are taken into account. Given the extraordinary nature of the events to which this latest death is connected, the inordinate haste with which Maillaud jumps to a non-criminal explanation, can only be regarded as further reason to doubt his role and opinion.

Further there is no indication SAH wore such and it is too big for a child. These observations have been discussed at length in the past and I suggested it might indicate SM actually got in SAH's car at some point, when it would be natural to take off his hat and put it there. Less likely is that he would get out of the car without it (if he did) as it was right in front of him. So it could indicate he got out in haste - maybe when an attacker approached UP the road shooting, as we now know he did. If so its wholly compatible with him being shot in the back and falling prone where from photo and blood stains we know he did. The other point about the hat being there is that it effectively disproves an energetic 180 degree reverse turn as promoted by the French as at the very least it would have ended up on the OTHER side of the dash. Or TWO that the car slammed into the bank with any force which would have shot the hat onto the floor. Its amazing what one might be able to glean from an observable photograph isn't it. Now think what forensics in possession of the actual hat could do. It comes as no surprise that there has been total silence about that hat and who it belonged to. One of the most obvious questions: did it have blood splash on it or not? Doesn't look stained as it surely would have to with allegedly THREE multiple head shots within feet. If no blood/other matter staining certain other conclusions ineluctably follow.

the cap, the cap. (The one still on the Bmw fascia of course) Also if
we are talking about the same man, the face he’s pulling, tongue
out etc. replicates a dead boar/animal. It’s not just abstract
quasi humorous but well known by anyone connected with slaughtering
animals – horses even! And his book title, presumably the prize,
“Blink at Wildlife” (?) and “Treestand Strategy” published by
the ONF link him back by a separate route to the TWO passing ONF
vehicles, though we can’t be at all certain they were actually
occupied/driven by ONF guys can we. Given the fact that their
presence immediately before and after the killing is accepted
apparently (Panorama/MI5 leak) without explanation how they responded
to it, one or other or both must be highly implicated in the event
and the tyre marks at the top of the layby. All reports of another
vehicle may of course be a ruse just to throw off attention to ONF
vehicles, or indeed as I suggested long ago, the British back up
vehicle. We can at least be certain that there would have been a back
up vehicle for certain if the Al Hillis and WBM were both working as
agents/handlers.

Elsewhere I contrasted the reaction of the “British Jew” “who had been kidnapped” (denied by HAMAS) with the scare story appearing simultaneously in France, Britain, America, Norway(!) and other European capitals. In the former projected as hero figure and an outrage captured; the latter as a significant domestic risk. Not a word about the hundreds on innocent men women and children blown up by Israeli thugs. The bias is as obvious as it is staggering. That adults with children can adopt this stance without losing their soul quite impossible. Obama has become a caricature. The true controllers now have him in their vice like grip and he is just miming to the music, the music being we have in whatever way possible demonise Muslims (except of course those that sell us oil in dollars) to create the necessary antipathy in our respective countries, to bomb Syria and Iran (at least) – bad for people there but good for our armaments industry etc. Russia having proved the main obstacle must now be ostracised too. This has always been the case and apart from the lies, is the biggest indicator of state involvement. One final twist on the "Mollier cap"(?) as indicator he was in front seat and shot when he exited it under fire (?) is that if we link it to and believe the report that Zainab was outside with dad, then we might conclude that Sylvain's meeting wasn't with Saad at all but with his wife and/or mother-in-law, perhaps removing the elder daughter from over-hearing the conversation. As far as I can remember, no one has suggested this particular possibility previously but it is there.
Another puzzling aspect you may wish to consider, is what we can draw from the position of the SM’s bike. It now appears overwhelmingly likely that he left it at the top of the layby pointing down hill. So was he coming up or down? If we believe the police-supported WBM story that he was coming UP it of course means that he (cycled) past the Al Hilli before stopping, where on the opposite side of the road and layby, turned his bike around ready for the return trip, propped against tree/fence. If he did end up in the car this is obviously very strange. Was it just to maintain the impression he was disinterested in the car until he was absolutely sure the “coast was clear” or alternatively to first make contact with a (ONF?) vehicle parked up at the top of the layby, before making his way down to the Al Hillis?

I have just come across this article.* It is in French and via Google Translate, particularly difficult to follow. Nevertheless it is clear that it challenges Eric Maillaud's initial and un-changed assertion that the French cyclist was not the intended target and expresses general dissatisfaction with the French investigation.
However I refer to it for a different but important reason: the inclusion of two, what appear to be, official "scenes of crime" photographs that I haven't viewed before. They are further confirmation of points I have made in the past, criticised at the time by apologists of the French investigation. They are also indisputable evidence that Maillaud as spokesperson for the police, knowingly disseminated false information. In other words he lied! Could any more serious charge be laid at the door of a Public Prosecutor in any jurisdiction, namely to intentionally and knowingly misinform the public as regards a murder scene and thereby suggest erroneous events and likely explanations?
Take a good look at the two photos of the site. It is not easy as they are not separately loaded. (For those unfamiliar you will have to magnify the whole page by pressing "Ctrl+" simultaneously) You will see in the aerial photo there is a clear image of what we must assume is Mollier's expensive bike appearing to point DOWN HILL at the top RH side of the lay-by. (Earlier photographs suggested it but we couldn't be absolutely sure) I will not discuss the implications of this as I have done so before, other than saying this explicitly contradicts the information put out at the time, that the bike lay to the front and right of the Al Hilli car.
Now look at the second aerial photo of the lay-by marking up the position of Mollier's body and at least seven spent cartridges. This flatly contradicts several official descriptions: his body was not located to the front right of the car next to his bike; the shooting could not have come from the top of the car park; the shooter must have been above and to the left of the remnants, as semi-automatic guns almost invariably eject up and to the right.
Of course much more can be reconstructed from the observable remnants of the scene that I won't go into, suffice it to pose the question why did the prosecutor put out quite erroneous information and if so why is he still the spokesperson?
The lies may therefore be summarised as follows:
1. (From earlier findings) Brett Martin did not make the initial 3.48 pm call and none of the alternative explanations fit either.
2. The attack could not have come from the top of the lay-by.
3. Sylvain Mollier was not found lying to the front right of the BMW nor his bike lying next to him there.
4. The BMW could not have been reversed under fire from the top of the lay-by, nor hit SM on the way.
5. Unless moved by the police prior to the photo, it means SM must have dismounted at the top of the layby, turned the bike around ready for his return trip, then walked to the Al Hilli car (via another parked at the top perhaps?) before the attacker approached from the bottom.
These latest images (if genuine and we have no reason to think otherwise as they have never been rejected by the French authorities) fully support the line I have always taken, that the official investigation is not only incompetent, it is intentionally misleading and corrupt.
Only pressing reasons at a national level can explain it but not excuse it. We have at the moment a parallel example in the justice system in Britain in which the government is apparently desperate to hide the true situation from the public, and is prepared to break even the most cherished principles to do so. It is the true gauge of the nature of current constitution and what can be done with impunity, particularly poignant following all the flowery rhetoric and display of emotion at the 70th anniversary of the D Day Landings, intended to banish for ever from Europe, the shadow of unaccountable action by the state.

8 Jun, 2014 - 12:21 pm it is possible if you blow the image right up, that the frame can be identified which puts the bike facing DOWN hill. Even the dumbest investigators, and here we are dealing with Frances best, would not have moved critical evidence without at least enveloping it securely. Why even if they did move it would they place it so far away? The only plausible explanation is not only that SM placed it there, clearly at that point not under fire, but he turned it around, ready to return down hill. The police and Maillaud MUST have known this from the beginning, plus the location of the body of SM, yet he allowed/originated the false location of SM and bike to the front right of the BMW. Also, knowing the location of the shells, he perpetuated an obviously false story of the attack coming from the top, not to mention the obviously false story of the reversing BMW. It poses the questions why would he want to promote these lies and why would SM want to get off his bike where he did rather than at the bottom? Could it be EM was desperate to rule out the possibility of SM meeting someone other than SAH at the TOP of the layby and then moving down to the Al Hilli's car, and that the shooter (at least one of them) came UP the hill rather than down? I suppose we shouldn't over-look the possibility that SM first rode past the Al Hilli's to appear disinterested until he was sure the "coast was clear". We have to factor in the point that SM, having it is claimed, overtaken WBM on the way up, knew that WBM would be arriving any moment. Of course the distribution of the shells would, if we had not cleared the enigmatic Brett Martin from blame, increase the chances that he was the shooter! Also we should never forget that even EM admitted another "OAP cyclist" was on scene, who has never been identified. There is of course no guarantee that this additional anonymous person was either OAP or cyclist, particularly for the above reasons we cannot trust anything that EM says. Finally "suicides" connected to this sort of event is much more likely to prevent a leak of information than injured feelings, particularly in a hardened paratrooper.

mURRAY Q – appreciated. One thing we have learned, and in fact we can almost take it as a given, people get “suicided” for what they know and to shut them up – for good. It’s either that or to get rid of a “nuisance” or out of pure revenge for past real or imagined. Those that pose a real (terrorist) threat are either arrested or “taken out” unambiguously as with SAS/IRA in Gibraltar. “Suicide” is the choice where basically it cannot be justified without revealing the back story. Unfortunately authorities are too ready to go along with the prevailing theory and you can’t really blame them if the investigation is either inadequate or there has been a thorough “clean up” as with Gareth Williams or Ben Zygier to name but two. Again and again suspicious elements are never followed up. The Coroner is dependent on the police for the investigation and if they are incompetent or corrupt, he/she is reduced to largely futile “open” verdicts. I would say that one of the most reliable indicators of foul play with official complicity, is the jumping to a conclusion of suicide even before autopsy, as in this one. Not even nearly two years of unprecedented police investigation (so we are told) of a notorious case that must have thrown up a convoluted and dark web of intrigue apparently suggested to our friend Maillaud that he should be a tad cautious before pronouncing on the cause of a related violent gun shot death? OH COME ON!!!!
and James T. died in Natchez, Mississippi, on the same day as the Alps killings. The official cause of death was a heart attack, but Lt Col Vinnemann said “we still haven’t had a response to certain questions” and added “we have discovered some astonishing things”.
The Iraqi man was the third person to be arrested in connection with the murder case which continues to baffle detectives.
Twenty police officers are still working on the case."

1. James Thompson was previously an “Oil Boy”. Then a “General Contractor”.
2. Iqbal was “a friend of the family” (?) and he met “through a cousin”.

Iqbal seems to use the “I was a dentist, but can’t practice in this country” line alot. And seems always to be “in education to be able to practice”.

Even back in the days when *the* Jim Thompson vanished, the CIA had a compressed-air pistol affectionately known as the Hush Puppy, because it was originally conceived to tranquilize guard dogs without leaving any trace (the darts consisted in a tranquilizing agent mixed with finely-ground iron powder that would literally rust away after coming into contact with the shot dog’s tissue). Substitute a potent poison for the dog tranquilizer, and you have an almost totally silent close-range assassination weapon which leaves very few traces and causes something that is almost certain to be taken for an idiopathic fatal heart attack.
So far, so good. However, the point of any such device is its unobtrusiveness, the ability to kill the victim in such a manner that his death is assumed to be a natural one. Using it on the same day that a spectacular murder, to which the victim is however tenuously linked, is committed elsewhere, defeats that objective. Why bother choosing a covert, deceptive killing technique, when the timing of the death screams “foul play”? This makes no sense, and hence I personally believe that the timing of James T’s death was sheer coincidence.
Regarding Iqbal’s marriage to this rather undistinguished U.S. citizen, and particularly the fact that she never told anybody about it, that is a rather different matter. Again, this is merely my personal opinion, and I hardly expect to convert any of this blog’s readers to it, but that behaviour smacks of a deep-cover agent building up her legend. Far from being a CIA agent, James T. probably was nothing but some gullible love-struck mope whom she first picked up and later ditched to suit her own purposes – as may have been the case later on with Saad. I now realize that I have been looking at this case with somewhat sexist goggles all along, assuming Saad as the man of the household to be the one who might have harboured the family’s dark secrets, if such secrets they had. There is instability and collapse all around particularly as it relates to American foreign policy which could go anyway with the political vacuum at the top. Apparently the President is virtually disengaged from the Executive and just looking (like Blair) "to be judged by history". Meanwhile the 100 billion dollar intelligence industry (not to mention the industrial/military complex continues on its way with its geo-political goals that we see rolling out in middle and far east, a break-up of Iraq into three sectors being just one of them. Within this complicated and unstable mess we have the historic "special relationship" and particularly between CIA and MI6 which ultimately pulls the strings, or attempts to. German BND and French Security obviously working together to "apprehend" the Iraqi "suspect" moving into France (or so we are told) Then, "Abra Cadabra", up comes the pre-husband that points the finger back at the States. How surprising just this little gobbet of incriminatory information is released just now? I am convinced there is a little game being played out between the various Secret Services - what we might call "coded warning shots across the bow" each warning the other not to "drop them in it" - it being the shark infested waters of identification and opprobrium. As I have always thought, there are two main suspects, (including arm's length operators of course "Q") with France allowing the thing and helpfully not being able "to find a single clue" as Maillaud was quoted as saying. (That in itself might have been a coded message by him that his lips had been sealed and his hands tied, so to speak, for what criminal investigation has NO leads at all?) So as suggested above by Peter I think, Saad's wife and mother could, as we have previously suggested, have been much more central to the operation. journey before winding up where he is today.
When people graduate from high school, they have the big question of going to school or finding
a job. Jim attended automobile classes at the local community college in Jackson, Michigan, in
hopes of someday becoming a mechanic. After a couple years at Jackson Community College,

company called EDS answering customer service phone calls. After several angry customer
calls, Jim soon became frustrated with his job and tried finding something new.
Two years following his customer service job, he finally found a job as a technical writer working
for a company called MSX International, which specialized in automobiles and tractors.
Technical writing is the area he finally found, as he said, “what I want to do when I grow up.” He
spent a couple of years at MSX before he realized technical writing was something he could do
within his own home. Jim started his own business, JTech Training and Technical Writing.
Now he’s developing training courses for Caterpillar but has also done jobs for such companies
as Audi and Oldsmobile. His hometown is Jackson, Michigan, where he does most of his writing
and training developing, but has to take frequent trips to Peoria, Illinois, the headquarters of
Caterpillar, where he will meet with subject matter experts to learn more about the current
project. He has also had to travel to Spain, Australia, and Canada for Caterpillar projects.
His advice for future technical communicators is to use the new technology. He said that a lot of
the documentation that used to be paper-based is now electronic.
On most mornings, Jim wakes up around 5 am, and makes a fresh pot of decaffeinated coffee
before heading to his basement office. After checking some emails and making a to-do list for
the day, he heads back upstairs to make a small breakfast. Then he will spend a majority of his

and I don’t think mentioned by anyone else, relates to Iqbal’s
dentistry issue. You suggest poss. of facial surgery BB. Maybe I’m
not thinking as well as you but I can’t quite see an application in
relation to all the Iraq stuff. Thought I had – I agree it may be
far fetched but will throw it into the cock-pit anyway – is in
relation to the utility of dentures or teeth implants for concealing

Even the most intimate body search would be unlikely to uncover it. A
filling could even contain a sample metal. Just an idea.no more than
that.

puzzle is, as someone pointed out (sorry I can’t remember who) why
if she was a qualified dentist, she goes back to college to learn how
to make dentures. Could be, as was suggested, provided more
flexibility. Another reason might be it was thought to be a useful

revelation as many have highlighted. Just a few I noticed: Our friend
Vinnemann says Thompson was a dentist? Turns out he’s actually
“ex-policeman”, oil man and now general contractor nearing
retirement? Is this just more French incompetence or intentional. We
have no info. on his police career. Until we do the CIA option is
very real possibility, for which “policeman could either be good
cover to the family, or their attempt to cover his real job. The
biker (complete with trademark moustache) with “links to thugs”
strikes me much more CIA than local cop. Nor do we need to be
reminded of the deep and resistant links between CIA and crime
(replicated by MI6) Then there is the inexplicable delay in the link
becoming public particularly if family members are now suggesting
they thought murder was a possibility at the time.
So
now, if the story is true, we have another piece of the jigsaw that
proves this was not an “ordinary” crime and that the involvement
of at least one and probably five secret agencies were involved one
way or another. We now have links to the top of Iraqi society in no
less than four directly related families PLUS clear, indisputable
CIA/MI6 links to SAH, his father, his uncle, and probably his wife,
her previous husband and his brother-in-law. This is beyond
coincidence. Now we have a spouse dying at almost the same time on
the same day, both sides of the Atlantic (albeit 6/7 hours
behind)!
If
Iqbal was CIA, it is feasible as I suggested above, she was a plant
on SAH to act as inside informer on what the British were up to with
SAH. Bremmer said as much in Iraq when he worked to prevent the
British taking control using Allawi, where the Al Hillis also had a
leading role. This replicated longstanding American policy/friction
dating back to Suez and prior with the whole anti-empire stance. The
pragmatic reason was oil and America’s determination to keep
control of the asset. (Ironically we are back in with the Turkey
pipeline/Kirkuk link and the Iraq split into three) Apologies for
shorthand.
So
what if the British operation was actually compromised by Iqbal not
realising the consequences? That shadowy figures on the
Israeli/American side took the decision to neutralise the three and
teach the British a lesson and put them in their place. I still think

t may be significant that so far THREE distinct personas/identies have now been established for Saad’s wife, who we have been told was one of the victims in the car. If she also used her mother’s name she might have used FOUR. (Al Saffar. al Allaf. Thompson. al Hilli) This is not conjecture.
To fly from Sweden to (?) Dubai; from Dubai to America; from America to Dubai; from Dubai to London; from London to Chevaline (plus wherever and whenever she travelled before, during or after) she needed passports but the passport name was probably different. For example travelling to America it was probably Iqbal al Saffar whereas on her return after marriage to Jim Thompson it could easily have been “Kelly Thompson” an American citizen. So we immediately have the possibility of the classical multi-passport agent, though of course not proving it. These four possibilities, all having the advantage of truthfulness does not not exclude the possibility of more.
One of the consequences of this as it relates to the death of Jim Thompson is first how Maillaud/Vinnemann discovered the connection as it might not have been immediately obvious as demonstrated by the fact that it has taken nearly two years to come out? One might have expected, given the extraordinary coincidence of Iqbal’s ex dying on precisely the same day and even local time (almost) would have been headline news at the time if the connection had been realised.
Conversely it would appear the American family either didn’t make the connection or kept it quiet. Alternatively it could have been there WAS nothing to connect Iqbal al Hilli and Kelly Thompson (nee Iqbal al Saffah) in their minds at the time. If they had connected the two events, it would have been much less likely that Jim’s death would have been treated in quite the same way. (Obviously he was buried rather than cremated or there wouldn’t be the option of exhumation and post-mortem testing.)
So on both sides of the Atlantic, the awareness of the American connection appears to have come late in the day so the question arises from what quarter was this information provided? In law how many nationalities (and passports) could she lay claim to? (I can think of at least four probably) As usual and true to form you notice the French side advance a theory and then retract it in respect of both the coincidence of the same day deaths and the Iraqi hit-man, who however is conveniently kept locked up on another (unrevealed) charge. Meanwhile Algerian terrorists planning to blow up the Eiffel Tower abound apparently.

agent would do. Rather, it almost sounds as if she had been running
away from something or somebody – a failed first marriage in Dubai,
for example?
Regarding her career as a dentist, Dr Zaid Alabdi has claimed that he studied alongside her for some time. The only place where that can have been is at the University of Badgdad, where he completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1987. If I am right and Iqbal also studied there, she must have completed her BDS at around the same time. The following years are a blank, until she turned up in the USA coming from Dubai in 1999. Her parents lived in Sweden at least since 2001 (the first time the Swedish police were called about her brother Haydar Thaher – by the way, why is his surname Thaher?). Given that the Swedish cops were called fairly regularly in the following years, I would assume that her parents arrived in Sweden not long before 2001. Roughly at the same time she moved to the U. S., I would assume.
AFAIK, Dubai has only quite recently opened its first dental school. Thus, Iqbal must have acquired any further qualifications over and above her BDS elsewhere. It is almost certain that she did aquire such qualifications, because this quote, ‘She was already highly qualified, but they said she needed to go to medical school for one year and then take exams, indicates that she already was a fully-qualified dentist in another country when she arrived in the USA. My guess is that she trained in Bagdad (where her sister lived), before moving to Dubai at some point in the mid-nineties. Then, as I have argued, things in Dubai must have turned sour for her in 1999, because she did a runner, neither returning to Bagdad to stay with her family there, nor joining her parents who were in the process of moving to Sweden. Rather, she chose to move to the U.S. on her own, a move that appears to have been a hasty, spur-of-the-moment decision.

Ref death of Jim Thompson at the wheel: we are told it was at about 3pm local time, so the coincidence is not just same day, but also almost same (local) time. That really is pushing the coincidence. Now we know his time was actually 6/7 hours later in real time, that is around 9pm French time. This is about when the story was starting to get big attention although I do not know the time of the first American news reports which I guess were picked up a bit later than Britain/France in real time. Is it reasonable that JT had seen it on the (lunch-time?) news by then? If not the only other alternative would be that family members, or cops had informed him. Either way if the latter, a knowledge connection would be proved which makes their subsequent silence even more intriguing. Alternatively he neither heard the news before his death or perhaps even made the connection between a Mrs al Hilli and the al Saffar/Kelly woman he had supposedly married or not as the case may be. she was not certified by the state of Louisiana.
Instead, she was
only able to work as a dental assistant earning around $20,000 a year
— a meagre salary compared to the $200,000 a year she could have
taken home as a dentist with her own practice.
Joy explains: ‘It
was degrading for her.
She was over-qualified but they wouldn’t
accept her qualifications. She was this lovely, stylish and beautiful
woman who spoke with a perfect British accent but she was having to
do cleaning and stuff.’
But
while Jim Thompson and his family never heard from her again and
assumed that her brief presence in their lives was just because of
her need for a Green Card, FBI agents, at the request of Interpol,
have been probing whether there were other reasons for her stay in
the U.S.
They have examined Thompson’s past as an oil rig worker
and as manager at a company which manufactured pipelines for the
United Arab Emirates, although by the time he married Iqbal he was
working as a handyman.
One
man who might be expected to know the truth about Iqbal’s first
marriage is the man who helped arrange it — Sabah Al Shaikhly. This
week, the Mail tracked him down to New Mexico, where he is now
divorced from Jim’s niece and is working as a satellite and
communications specialist.
Denying all knowledge of a Green Card
arrangement, he claimed he was just helping out his doctor friend
when he invited Iqbal to stay.’
‘Mr
Al-Shaikhly is adamant that the murder of the Al-Hillis has no

I hope that those who used to say this was an "ordinary" crime and pooh pooh the suggestion that it had anything to do with nation states and their secret agencies are now convinced. We have so many connections to so many victims and associates to stick to that opinion would appear fanciful. As far as Iqbal is concerned we are told she spoke "English perfectly" ie no hint of either Swedish or Arab accent. Not American accent you notice which suggests British schooling somewhere along the line and probably from an early age. If she was working for government, was it British or American? Was America using her to spy on Britain or vice versa? Or was it a co-operative effort - Britain's MI5/6 lending her to FBI/CIA before winging her back to Dubai at the very time the Twin Towers operation swings into action? We know how obsessed America has been with Iran ever since the fall of the Shah and Carter's humiliation that ensured Reagan Republicans would get into the 80's driving seat, followed of course by the CIA Bush and first Iraq invasion. In such a situation multi lingual Shia top family individuals with connections to all the important players becomes hot property. It seems that both Saad AND Iqbal fell into that category. They were complimentary. Their meeting in Dubai and subsequent marriage could not have been accidental. They were both carrying on a family tradition at a critical time of Saddam being ousted which they both probably supported but became less convinced as time went on, aware of the way American policy was leading. They may well have gone "rogue" therefore and needed to be neutralised before spilling important beans or providing essential assistance to the old enemy. SM appears to be the bait but provided by whom - the French? It certainly appears from their reaction at the time and subsequently that even if not a British operation (which I believe it was) it was being monitored and supported by them. The British response to protect children and Zaid plus wider family can only be interpreted as supporting its own. So as always we are back to the two main suspects. least. As we approach the second anniversary, I wonder what
“road-show” they will give us – if any – and whether it will
be any better than the first one. Needless to say, the Brits have
kept remarkably quiet and apparently haven’t a clue “who dunnit”.
And as for the Cameron/Holland assurances the very next day – yet
more empty rhetoric and falsehood, of which this event has been
replete. It is beyond comprehension that neither France or Britain or
both, with all their resources, do not know precisely what happened
and why. The more interesting question is now, what is so important
or embarrassing to presumably national security, that trumps justice
or making both country’s police look so stupid? Of course since
this event we have had the disappearance of MH370, MH17, Gaza and
re-engagement in Kirkuk, all of which have involved lies and
conspiracy at the highest of government, not to mention Boston and
Woolwich, Boco Haram and ISIS. Coups in Egypt and Ukraine, bot
supported by the west. Bombing and killing thousands of civilians in
Gaza supported by the west. Government brutality in Nigeria, Mali,
Horn of Africa supported by the west. Gaza protests either not
reported in Britain or banned in France. Orchestrated propaganda
coming from Washington, London and Paris simultaneously regarding the
twin “threats” of domestic Muslim extremism and Russian
aggression. Snowden and Assange and huge clamp-down on “leaks”
and alternative reporting on the internet via the hysteria over
celebrity phone-tapping and “ATVOD”. Meanwhile the police lose
all their potentially embarrassing investigative reports of high
level goings on amidst claims of endemic police corruption and
Bush/Blair conversations proving collusion and deceit remain buried.
Eye-watering malfeasance in public office was enshrined in the events
of 9/11 at the beginning of the century and has stained all
subsequent disastrous events. In this wider context we should not be
surprised that the murder of four individuals in a French forest
should prove so difficult to solve. It is not solved because the
French, the British, the American and the Israeli governments do not
wish it, and no other government (German, Swedish, Russian, Iranian?)
are prepared to play snitch. Now we have Nouri al-Maliki gone and
replaced with Haider (where have I heard that name before?) al-Abadi,
an Al Hilli/Dawa look-a-like, at the hands of the Iranians it would
appear but also a British shoe-in (the mind boggles at what
bi-lateral deal secured that one)the whole saga may come full-circle.

Now these two deaths could be totally unrelated to the Al Hilli saga despite certain similarities in the “modus operandi”. What similarities? Victim killed in car behind wheel. Engine still running. Shot in the head. Remote forest road. Money allegedly involved. In the same region of France. Eric Maillaud put in charge. Victim and alleged assailant similar age group. Forestry/farming connections. Gun/hunting involvement. “Respected” civil position. Suspect commits “suicide”.
If unrelated, these similarities are strange to say the least.
One of the strangest strangenesses (!) is the uncanny resemblance of the late Mr Cottet-Dumoulin’s facial features to that of the published “photo-fit” (that wasn’t actually a photo-fit) of the helmeted biker, introduced into the story belatedly (one year late) only as a result of the claimed ONF mole on the BBC Panorama programme. We have already had a lookalike in the arrested trained marksman Eric Devouassoux, 48.

Then as you point out Michael Norton we had the case of the questioned suspect, ex-legionnaire, who although subsequently cleared of any connection to the Chevaline crime, was so disturbed by being questioned by police, that he shot himself after leaving a suicide note, the contents of which have never been revealed. EM (how he must question his role in life sometimes) incredibly wasn’t sure whether it was six or seven pages. Or was it seven or eight – I can’t now precisely recall? Even more amazingly the police statement that there were signs of an altercation at the scene caused not a moments hesitation in Eric’s mind that just possibly foul play was involved. Even before the forensics were in, he had determined this was definitely suicide. These tough Legionnaires obviously have a very sensitive side!
Now returning to the recent death in prison custody of Cottet-Dumoulin, we have to ask how was it allowed to happen. It is internationally acknowledged that the state has a duty of care in such situations. Was he considered a suicide risk? Was he under observation and how? How long before he was discovered? Who entered his cell and when? What records are required and kept in his case? How come in a prison used to such things, was a suitable ligature available? Who discovered him and what resuscitation techniques were applied if any? What post mortem tests/examinations as to cause or chemicals?
All these questions need to be answered but will they. Any murder/suicide requires them. The fact that these events cannot be separated from the Chevaline ones until proved otherwise, makes it even more imperative. We are all aware that in any conspiracy to kill, particularly if these are initiated by state organisations, not only the victim target is at risk but also witnesses who might give away sensitive information, know anything about the operation, as well as the assassins themselves, are at great risk. That the recent fatalities and earlier ones might fall into one or more of these categories cannot be ruled out, as Eric appears to be able to do with such confidence.
Are the French interested/concerned? I somehow doubt it. More likely a Gallic shrug of the shoulders and “c’est la vie”, or more appropriately, “c’est la mort”! Where official channels of investigation appear to be so incompetent and unsuccessful, alternative ones appear to be the only hope. It would be a very brave newspaper or private investigator who would risk his life looking into this corrupt and dangerous world, so we should not hold our breaths. Only a huge French or British outcry with the outrageous situation is might get results, and how likely is that?

i did a pretty good review regarding the Kurdish Havutcu clan and their brothers names of Faverges.
The french couple (a guy and a girl) who had a did both beat them up in a fight in the pizzeria were both members of the ski club of Doussard but their names are unknown. After having been in that fight in the pizzeria and beaten up the Havutcu brothers there, they left and joint the ball of the ski club of doussard in july 2012. At about midnight, the Kurds showed up at the ball in doussard together with several kurdish friends and waited for that couple outside for them leaving that party and in in a “vendetta” ( words used by the judge) they did beat up the guy and the girl with baseball sticks and heavily injured both of them.

I must read all your observations but these are mine, and please excuse if I am merely repeating points you have already made but here goes none the less.
First a general one regarding Coroners’ Inquests: I can’t help thinking it was time the role and function was reviewed. After what appears was the briefest of sessions, the finding of “Unlawful Killing” would almost be comical if it were not so serious. What were the alternatives, suicide, misadventure? The Coroner had to retire to consider the verdict, this after more than two years of police investigation and news stories.
One cannot help but notice that the proceedings appeared to be intentionally low key. For example there is no mention of a jury which in such an high profile case is I would have thought highly unusual. Clearly none of the parties to the case demanded it or were intent of using the occasion to shed light on events. For some reason, everyone was keeping schtum. Nor predictably was the French Mollier family in evidence it would seem either as witnesses or observers, indicating there is nothing further they need or wish to learn. Nor obviously did the Coroner believe there was anything that they might have contributed to the many outstanding questions including why they were shot together in that remote location.
However despite the the very superficial nature of the proceedings, as so often happens, a few new and significant details manage to emerge. Obviously I wasn’t there but newspapers report the “inquest was resumed”. I assume this means it was opened many months ago and put on hold until police enquiries had been completed. It may therefore be an indicator that the murder hunt has all but concluded.
Note how few witnesses there were at the Inquest – effectively only Zaid. The questioning appears to have only come from the Coroner himself, in other words, although I cannot be sure obviously, it appears none of the interested parties were legally represented. The forum was clearly not intended to illicit any new information or searching light as to cause. It maybe worth contrasting with the Inquest for Lady Diana in which Al Fayed employed top barrister to cross examine witnesses at length. As I said this inquest clearly shows no one really wanted to inquire too deeply.
Only three witnesses it seems: Zaid in person; Brett Martin by written statement – again confirming an agreement not to question in person; and a Surrey detective inspector. Not one of the many others who could have been asked to give evidence under oath. The opportunity lost. This cannot be accidental.
In addition the very significant British post mortem findings were made public. Well some of them. Again the information is only sufficient to give the impression of detail. In fact it is again superficial: no body maps, or exact location of the bullet wounds or the assumptions made on the back of them – type of bullet, direction of trajectory, timing etc. All this nicely brushed over. No need to go there.
But from this we may at least gather there WAS a post mortem examination in Britain by a Home Office pathologist. If so we can be certain it was far more detailed and scientific than the court report might indicate. This is how “Get Surrey” reports it:
“The inquest heard that the postmortems for Saad, Ikbal and Suhaila, carried out at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Surrey, had similar results to those found by the French authorities.
Saad’s body had seven gunshot wounds, in the head and trunk.
Ikbal’s body had gunshot wounds to the neck and chest, and Suhaila had three gunshot wounds – in the head and neck.
It is thought all three victims would have died extremely rapidly.”
If I am not mistaken this is the first time we have had it confirmed that there was a second (British) autopsy. It says it confirms the French findings. So is this confirmation that yet again the French Prosecutor was lying to us? Only now do we discover authoritatively that SAH was hit by SEVEN bullets and his female companions at least TWICE and THREE times. Not only does Eric Mailaud stand accused of cover up but of factual disinformation.
Then on an arithmetical level it poses the question if SM was indeed shot seven times as reported, we now have no less than 19 certified “hits” maybe more of 23 bullets fired? This is incredible accuracy that only a professional shooter could achieve. It obviously leaves out of the calculation the bullet injury to Zaina. Apart from any other consideration, it definitively rules out Mailaud’s stated opinion that the shooting took place as the car reversed at speed. It confirms the the French version of events must have been an intentional lie.
The many wounds Saad received also confirms INTENT and DETERMINATION to kill him. It may also indicate his efforts to escape and the accuracy of the shooter as he did so.
Now as to Brett Martin’s evidence, the first thing to note this is a travesty of a report. It is so truncated as to be almost an insult to the Coroner process. However it is interesting to note two or three new elements: Zaina falls on her face (again she is “covered in blood” which was directly contradicted by Philip ?); now he sees “smashed windows” – that’s new – but he still smashes the driver’s window; and now rather strangely he gives a precise distance of SM’s body from the car – 30 cm! That’s a FOOT! He’s now saying SM’s body was virtually “cheek by jowl” next to the car. So how to explain the photograph of the position of his body? Even a dumbo like me would be tempted to ask BM “How then do you explain the position of the body in this photograph Mr Martin?” Not only did the question occur to the Coroner apparently, but Mr Martin wasn’t there to answer it.
What could be more significant than than the question, “If BM found SM’s body next to the car, how come it ended up where it did” and “If BM moved it there, why did he do it and why has he not made this clear in his statement to the Coroner?”
Then we have ZAH’s evidence. No longer making accusations as to French causes. No reference to the injustice of being arrested at the request of the French. However we do have the view that SAH was unfamiliar with the area. Excuse me this is directly contrary to previous statements that he had been to the area regularly. Why the change? What is the truth.
“Zaid Al-Hiilli said his brother liked driving holidays and had a caravan.
He and his wife would plan their trips a few weeks in advance.
Zaid Al-Hilli said his brother would not have been that familiar with the Lake Annecy area in France, but that they had visited the area as children.
He does not believe the family had visited more recently than the summer of the murder, in 2012.”
This is so contrary to previous reports – my god there is even a photograph of them there at an earlier time – why was it not challenged, why was it being made? Was it just to add further confusion or to provide a superficial explanation as to why he might be “lost”?
He says Saad met his wife in Ikbal in Abu Dhabi. I know I am easily confused but I thought up to now the storey was they met in Dubai? Does this not deserve explanation?
Then we have the direct contradiction even at the hearing, which again goes unchallenged. Zaid says: “He does not believe the family had visited more recently than the summer of the murder, in 2012.”
DCI Mark Preston says: “Saad Al-Hilli was working as a contractor for Surrey Satellite Technology when he died. He had applied to take annual leave earlier in the year but had been unable to do so. The family had visited a different area of France in June of the same year.”
The police evidence in the person of Mark Preston relates it seems merely to observations on the family photographs. Is this the best the police can supply to a Coroner if the purpose of the court is to determine the cause of the person’s death? In passing however it suggests somehow or other the British police managed to get hold of the camera which one would have expected the French would have kept as a significant piece of evidence. Obliquely just this little fact suggests this was never a typical investigation.
As far as the Coroner’s Court is concerned it is obviously just a window exercise with no serious intent to inquire into circumstances or cause. The more worrying point is that the Coroner’s Inquest is no longer fit for purpose, and citizens can no longer rely on it in any way should they die in suspicious circumstances.

My limited experience taught me you could only rely on what you discovered, first hand, for yourself in serious incidents and fatalities. Everyone involved, even those who are in theory independent and impartial, have an angle. We have observed this in high profile cases time and time again. Low profile cases can pass without any particular notice, particularly if there is no family able or willing to pursue the issues. We have also seen how families of those affected (de Menezes/Zygier/Williams/Lawrence and so on) are either bribed and/or blocked, in either finding out the truth or having it revealed. The Al Hilli’s are a case in point. Either in the interests of the children or for other reasons of which we are unaware, they have kept a very low profile throughout, other than Zaid’s rather muted accusation that the reason for the shooting was France based. This was almost quid quo pro for the French “equal and opposite” one. This I believe was just spookland verbal games to confuse and distort the true reasons behind the attack, part of what all along was the over-riding necessity to string the thing out for long enough for the media to loose interest, which they now largely have. A Google search reveals the only national paper to take up the story was the Daily Mirror. All the rest appear to be local rags. In the case of the BBC it is BBC Surrey which yet again devotes the reportage to regurgitating the bald facts. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-surrey-29989759 In other words not only is the Inquest superficial in the extreme, it is also largely ignored by the mainstream media. This is an old tactic, because it can “put the case to rest” without ever actually critically examining it. For anyone who raises questions now, the answer will be, “Well the Coroner found it was an unlawful killing – period”. The fact that this was a statement of the obvious that could have been made over two years ago is neither here nor there. If we had a genuine process to get to the bottom of “cause of death” that the Inquest is supposed to supply, everyone with eye witness and “back-room” involvement, would be called to give evidence under oath. Of course French witnesses could not be compelled to attend a British jurisdiction, but they could have been requested to attend and if they refused certain implications could be drawn in line with the amended “Caution” if arrested. Ironically of course, the Coroner’s Inquest is the one surviving of inquisitorial justice akin to the French system based on Roman rather than British Common Law. In response to a question by Michael Norton, the only sure way of knowing what went on at the Inquest was to be there. Newspaper reports may be fairly reliable as to what they report but crucially it is impossible to know what they leave out. It is possible to request from the Coroner a copy of his report of proceedings. Rather amazingly (in this day and age) there is no actual transcript unless someone present takes one. There is no official who has this duty so again there is great opportunity for inaccuracy. In this connection I would be interested to learn how Peter obtained his specific information about the bullets and injuries as I haven’t seen these details mentioned in the press reports. Perhaps I have just missed them. So the point I am making is that as a mechanism for revealing the truth, the inquest, this one in particular, is woefully inadequate. Further that any information revealed and reported is by its very nature partial and intentional. In that respect it it is a repeat of previous output from the British side. It does little to clarify or inform other than to contradict the French output. It is unlikely this is for general public as probably few notice the differences and even less care. So I conclude it is more for the French. Just little reminders to them that we know they were lying. This of course does not mean that we are “telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth” either. Both sides are up to their necks in obfuscation over this one, and the reason is no clearer after the Inquest. The least it could have done was to have provided clear and detailed information about the crime scene and injuries. It did not even do that apparently.

The first victim in Libya was shot 12 times to represent the number of targets. See how Mossad works? It is steeped in Jewish symbolism and never misses a trick to emphasise it. Like the Fox, it cannot resist leaving its marking card on any available rock.
I am convinced that Operation Wrath of God is the lock and it is the victims that are the key. That is not to say that there might not have been additional levels of purpose or “justification” for the killings but I think it is in the history and background of the victims that the explanation most likely resides. This is supported circumstantially by the extreme secrecy surrounding the biographical details and visual representation of the victims, particularly SM and SAH’s mother-in law, Suhaila al-Allaf, 74. This of course would have made her 34 at the time of Munich. Was she connected to any of the Black September conspirators or more broadly Hezbollah.

We have of course covered this ground before but what is intriguing about the 1979 assassination of Ali Hassan Salameh was the role of a British woman who acted as an Israeli agent and was thought to be crucial in the timing of the exploding VW that also killed (murdered) innocent passers by. I am on early record drawing attention to the many inconsistencies and misinformation that have subsequently been confirmed by leaked information. The problem with these events (as with the Charlie Hebdo incident) is limited information and the reliability of the sources. The circumstances of the event may shout a con, but it is quite another matter to prove it. Sometimes analysis and the conclusions drawn from it can be quite wrong (as with that getaway car!) but that does not mean all criticism is negated. There is something very suspect about those who make generalities from particulars and we must all guard against those potential pitfalls. However it is now proven fact (Gladio et al) that governments, including western governments inspire and carry out terrorist incidents, purely to blame the other side. It is also fact that governments are deeply involved in assassination so these things do not need to be proved. In the case of Israel Operation Wrath of God that went on until at LEAST the mid-90’s is an accepted FACT even by Israel itself. This is NOT anti-Semitism which has been erroneously and illegally levied against me, it is objective criticism of state terrorism. I am equally critical of elements of British and American policy as indeed I am of Muslim countries when they act inhumanely. “Anti-Semitic” is an oft used and cheap jibe intended to stifle rational debate. I am no more anti-Jew than I am anti-American but I am definitely against intentionally bombing civilians under the cover of a civilian plane crash, or killing people with drones whether they are guilty of any offence or not. the beginning we had many contributors here. Sadly they have
gradually seeped away although of course we do not know how many
still pop in to view. This is a natural consequence of time and

keep out of personal attacks and insults on here but when they are
continuous, even a worm (such as I) turns. Why would someone want to
be personally insulting and/or threatening but this is nothing new?
It has happened ever since this person has appeared. I can only
conclude it is harassment intended to stop me contributing to the
thread. Indeed I have done so in the past. However you have lost me
when you come to the “French bashing” bit. If you mean my
criticism of both the French and British investigation, and perhaps I
should rewrite that to say the French and British investigation “that
they have made public”, how could anyone not be critical? Not even
after two and a half years have they even provided a convincing
narrative of events. How can you explain allowing everyone in to
contaminate the murder scene before declaring the forensics on-going.
Lying (as proved by the elicit leaked photos) as to the location of
the shooting. And many other examples of truth for the wrong reasons
or duplicity for the right ones? And there is nothing to brag about
on the British side just silence. I differentiate between the
apparent investigation and the real one because I am quite sure both
sides of the channel must know what happened and who did it.
Consequently that the statement by EM that they have no idea (not
specifically replicated by the British side) must surely be less than
honest? I am not in a position to judge EM as I have no idea to what
extent he is “in the loop” or subject to higher authority and
direction. As far as the victims are concerned I cannot claim any
more than the feelings of empathy common to all human beings
particularly as it touches upon the fate and loss of two young
children, to whom the approach of the British authorities was as
troubling as it was suspicious. Clearly from whatever quarter the
threat emanated, the British authorities were convinced that it
remained even back in Britain. That alone says a lot about the true
nature of it. Why you write in that faux English – well that truly
is inexplicable.
Whilst on the topic of alleged “French bashing” let us return just for the moment to the murder scene on the 5th September, 2012 and specifically the circumstances surrounding the discovery and rescue of four year old Zaina. Huffington post had this on the 9/9/2012:
“A four-year-old girl who hid under the corpse of her dead mother following a gun attack in the French Alps has returned to Britain, Sky News has reported. Zaina al-Hilli lay undiscovered for eight hours after the attack. Her aunt and uncle are thought to have accompanied her back to Britain, after travelling to the area in the wake of the shootings, reported AFP.”
The Ibiza Sun had this “There was shock and speculation last week when a young child was found, in a car, having survived a brutal gun attack which killed her parents in the southeastern French Alps. Four-year-old Zaina al Hilli was discovered cowering under the body of her dead mother, Iqbal.”
In the same report it states Police officer Benoit Vinneman told reporters that the crime scene was being re-examined, and that it would be wrong to focus on the theory of an “ordered execution”. “Is this the work of a crazy person? You will immediately notice there are some rather startling divergences from the official story line whilst replicating disproved ones. How could this happen a full 18 months after the event? Surely after this passage of time they (meaning Reuters that has a reputation to protect) wouldn’t have simply guessed? NB. This was AFTER the elicit crime scene photos had been published.

First change, the shooter comes from the bottom of the lay-by NOT the top as EM/police had stated.
Second change, they suggest the motor cyclist does the shooting and that his bike is behind him facing up hill as if he has just arrived. This clashes with the forester’s testimony that when he drove down he passed (the?) motor cyclist turning into the park
Third change, or perhaps more correctly, replicating early reports, locating Zainab and SM’s bodies to the front right of the car. This is specifically contradicted by the photograph of the dead body of Sylvain, substantiated by blood stains. If the animation is accurate his body had to be moved to its new location before it had the chance to bleed where it fell. WBM admitted he moved the body. If so it would have to have been immediately after the shooting.
Third change, note there is no mention now of a wide reverse sweep from the top of the lay by whilst under fire. This was a crucial element of the French interpretation that I for one strenuously argued against. If this animation is accurate, it dispenses with it completely and suggests as I argued at the time, only a straight reverse happened.
Fourth change, it shows the motor cyclist passing WBM but note in completely the OPPOSITE direction, as WBM is shown approaching the car on his RIGHT hand side which could only be achieved if he was cycling down hill. This is such an obvious error does it reflect the truth or was it introduced to confuse or just as a result of incompetence on the part of the animator?
Fifth change, it places SM to the right of the car. Apart from an obvious question why he would be there if a total stranger, it clashes with the photographic record insofar as his bike was at the OPPOSITE end of the lay-by. Would the investigators have moved it so far away even if they had moved it? This at a crime scene where they were careful to disturb nothing?
Sixth change, two forestry workers are now shown STANDING with no sign of a vehicle. The motor cyclist goes past them, presumably leaving the seen, shown going DOWN hill. This would place them BELOW the crime scene not above as previously stated, which introduces many more problems such as EVERYONE presumably must have passed them both up and down. There is no reasonable explanation for this. Also note prominently displayed, the forester has what appears a short wave radio or at least mobile phone. If indeed there were standing below why have we not heard their input?
Seventh change, there is absolutely no mention of the BMW x5 that the British police reported going up at the exact time or of passing WBM in his version of events. Why have they written it out of the script?
Eighth change/inaccuracy, it says the photo-fit was produced “after the event”. This in no way conveys the inexplicable fact that this was over a YEAR later and only because of the previously hidden involvement of TWO forestry teams in vehicles revealed by a Panorama programme!
An 18 Feb arrest is depicted as if the crime has been solved. Misleading to say the least.
Perhaps the only thing we can draw from this is that “Next Media Animation” and by extension Reuters, is not very reliable. Alternatively if accurate it raises fundamental questions about the official narrative.

It appears to have been taken at night and shows the car in situ, virtually all bullet casement locations marked and what appears to be the outline of a recumbant body wich we must assume is SM. It’s a very revealing crime scene photo graph apparently posted over a year ago on you tube (5.1.2014) yet not referred to by EM as far as I am aware. Fifteen bullets are identified which ties in with EM initial report before discovering an extra 9(?) It appears genuine. Again I would point out the position of SM which differs diametrically from the animation just discussed. Evidence of further flash (photographs?) can be seen so this is a video clip rather than a photograph it would appear. It confirms yet again the shooting took place at the bottom of the lay by not the top. (When in the French chat room several attacked me for suggesting this contrary to the official version put out by the police that they must have known was inaccurate)
It is one of a series of ten apparently. Sadly for my the principal language is French with no sub titles so if any of you French speakers haven’t seen it, you might like to. About one hour forty in all I guess.

Pink – even at this late stage those two You tube clips were new to me and confirm or challenge salient points of the official French narrative. They deserve an answer but total silence from the authorities. This is quite extraordinary. How can EM and the system behind him refuse to address what appears to be blatantly false information put out by them? They stated the attack came from the top of the layby and the car reversed. Now we can all see irrefutable evidence that all the fifteen shots are at the BOTTOM of the lay-by plainly contradicting this account. This is but ONE instance where the factual evidence cannot support the official account. There are many more. Why do the French press not challenge the inconsistencies at least? As long as there is no explanation of them, how can there be any confidence in the French investigative or judicial systems, indeed of the French Government itself which has supported it? Anyone following this case must be aware that even after nearly eighteen months of intensive investigation, by a team of at least eighty policemen, with access to virtually unlimited modern forensic and electronic resources; the brightest and best intellectual powers that France and Britain could provide; has achieved, it is claimed, virtually …. zilch! That is apart from two/three arrests that have proved only that the individuals concerned were not implicated in the killings.

The fact that he has been retained by a French administrative hierarchy, says something rather profound. His opinions, theories and assessments have been equalled in their banality and confusion only by the amazing sound of silence emanating from the English side of the Channel. The situation can best be summed up thus: the British point the finger at the French and the French point right back and neither say anything of moment.
2. First Anniversary Press Conference, Annecy, France.

All of these things were left in a state of flux, perpetuating the impression that the police preferred doubt and confusion, to clarity and certainty. If anyone retained any confidence in the investigation, it was dispelled by the anniversary press conference.
However it was not completely wasted for it spawned a swathe of TV programmes and newspaper articles that contained the odd gem, throwing new light on various aspects. These had the effect of seriously undermining the Prosecutor’s position, rendering his theories untenable and forcing him to rewrite his script. 3. The Official Interpretation of Events – What Did and Did Not Happen?

He was firmly of the view that the only target was Saad al Hilli and his family; that local man Sylvain Mollier was not an intended victim, shot merely by chance; that no meeting between the parties was taking place nor was it pre-arranged; that the causation was firmly located in Britain and did not involve France; that the killer acted alone and was probably mentally unstable; only one weapon was used – a pre war Luger 7.65 mm pistol; that the Al Hillis were shot the moment they arrived at or about 3.30 pm and that a photograph in their possession proved they were in the nearby village of Arnand only 15 mins before; that the British ex-RAF pilot, the first to arrive on scene, was a hero; that he made the initial call at 3.48, later changed to Philippe Didierjean/Bossy; that no ONF vehicle or employee was involved in the incident and had been excluded from the investigation; that a Peugeot 2/306 seen rushing from the scene had been traced and eliminated from involvement; that neither reported motor cycle or BMW X5 had been traced; and no useful DNA material had been retrieved. Further that the elder daughter Zainab had been found still just alive and hospitalized immediately with gunshot wound and head fracture but that her younger sister Zeena had secreted herself in the rear foot-well for eight hours before being discovered at or near twelve midnight by specialist investigators brought from Paris.
4. The Brett Martin Televised Interview
Almost a week after the event, and after leaving and returning to the scene from Britain, (William) Brett Martin broke his silence in a very untypical BBC/SKY interview, held not in a usual studio setting, but more a hastily organised room where even the BBC sign hung unprofessionally from the wall. The interview was not only notable in providing much previously unknown detail but also contradicted the French story in one important respect. He was not he claimed responsible for making the alleged first emergency call at 3.48. It was this one significant fact that alerted me to an intentional lie that was to be the first of many emanating from the French side. It was what got me involved in this case at the beginning, and still, as the official story line has continued to unravel. Of course the fascinating question is why the French authorities felt the need to disemble and the British authorities the need to remain silent?

6. Forestry Workers (OFN)
Maillaud’s rejection of any involvement by French forestry personnel has only recently, at the hands of the Panorama programme, been proved incorrect. Nor has he ever explained how the French witness “Philip Didierjean” suddenly became “Philip Bossy”, or how another elderly cyclist on scene immediately following has never been officially acknowledged, nor how Laurent Fillion-Robin’s evidence can be reconciled with his claim that the Al Hilli’s arrived only moments before 3.30 pm, when shooting was heard. Similarly he has never explained how “Philippe D’s” testimony that he didn’t meet William Brett Martin until at least 4.10 pm and didn’t phone the emergency services until after visiting the murder scene, can be reconciled with Maillaud’s claim that the first call was made at 3.48 pm by WBM (subsequently denied by him) then by said Philippe Didierjean/Bossy. 7. Misinformation Never Corrected or Clarified.
He has never explained why the wrong publicised details at the beginning were never officially corrected. He has never been able to justify his view that the family were at Arnand taking their photograph more than four kilometres away, yet able to get back to the lay-by to all be shot dead by 3.30 pm which is his preferred scenario. His theory as to SAH reversing his car from top to bottom of the car park, can not be supported dynamically or geometrically. His claim that shooting started at the top end of the lay-by is not supported by the photographic evidence. It appears, contrary to his statement, he never did.
8. DNA Evidence Confusion.
Maillaud’s version was already in tatters by the time of the First Anniversary Conference. His own side’s laboratory results which he was reluctant to accept from blood splatter put Saad, his daughter and Sylvain physically together. His strategy seems to have been to ignore evidence that disagreed with him. Any self-respecting law officer would surely have collated all the evidence dispassionately and made the theory fit the facts or explain to everyone’s satisfaction why it didn’t. He may have been able to convince and reassure. In the event he did neither. His approach has recently been criticised by un-named British sources that “instead of theorising he should have established and followed the facts”. Yet after rejecting a claim of a breakthrough with a DNA result from an unidentified source on the grounds it had been contaminated by one of the team, he has recently used the absence of matching DNA to rule out his first arrested suspect.
9. Further Unexplained Confusions.
For example he has never been able to explain how Philip Didierjean got his name and why it was changed to “Bossy” by a Swiss prosecutor; whether said Didier/Bossy worked for the State in any capacity and how despite all the traffic movements now known, he said he was definite neither pedestrian or vehicle passed him before he met the fleeing Martin; who and what role his two female companions played; why the Sapeurs-pompiers arrived first having “overheard” the message on their radio, rather than being specifically tasked and despite the danger of a violent killer still at large; why it took so long to find Zeena in the back of the car; why the much nearer Lyons specialist forensic squad were not deployed; why such confusion over bullets and injuries that still persists; why he disputed the laboratory results; why it took so long to set up a contact number for the public; why he was so resistant to publishing photographs of the victims that could have assisted in establishing their movements and contacts (no recent photo images of either Suhaila al Allaf or Sylvain Mollier have ever been issued); why it proved impossible to identify a very distinctive RHD BMW X5 seen approaching the area at the critical time, and despite knowing about it before it was announced by the British side, denying it even existed or was involved, this after stating WBM had seen it at the very beginning! Why the descriptions of a sought vehicle kept changing? And why, literally within days of the event, was he expressing the opinion that the crime would probably never be solved? Such a catalogue of indecision and concealment surely demands explanation?
10 Anniversary Revelations.
Yet the first anniversary brought many more significant revelations, it should be noted, all from sources other than the French Prosecutor or Police. These have been augmented by those of the past few weeks, including the farcical local arrests of forty eight year old Eric Devouassoux and his friend Jean-Luc Falcy, then clearing them from any connection with the murders. Ziad al Hilli, Saad’s brother, (http://www.lepaysroannais.fr/photoSRC/UVNTJzYABBNIEAICBAAsAxYzHDEBVEpDQEo-/zaid-al-hilli-le-frere-de-saad-al-hilli-tue-avec-sa-famille-_1478061.jpeg ) Maillaud’s principal suspect, arrested and bailed by the British at his request in the summer, has now been told he has no case to answer, whilst Maillaud still hints at his guilt. I will discuss the context of his futile French arrests a little later.
In the Daily Mail on 10th October 2013, David Allen suggested that Sylvain Mollier, the French cyclist, had confided to a close Annecy friend that “he feared he would be shot”. Allen puts this down to reprisal for a crime of passion. He says: “A close friend of the late Mr Mollier has now told the local Essor newspaper in Annecy: ‘One day he told me that he had to be careful when he walked down the street, that he feared he would be shot. This was because he was a ‘seducer’ with a number of lovers beyond the one he was living with, sources told l’Essor.” This is clearly relevant and may suggest motive for his death, yet Maillaud could claim he was “99.9% certain” Mollier was not a target.
A second revelation was that only moments before the shooting Mollier was called by his ex-wife, hairdresser Lydie Ringot, who was complaining about custody of their two sons, Leo and Mathis, who had gone to live with Mr Mollier and his new girlfriend, Claire Schutz. Apart from contradicting earlier reports that he didn’t answer a call as he rode up the Combe, this report claims not only that he had a conversation with her but also that it was “only moments before the shooting”. It begs the question whether the shooting actually interrupted the conversation. If not it certainly suggests a time delay when he was at the lay-by itself. It also raises the question of mobile reception in the light of WBM’s “inability to get a signal” when he tried to contact emergency services. His new partner said she tried to ring him without success. Did she really not know where he was? Finally what happened to his phone? Was it retrieved? What information did it supply? How could he possibly have been “lost” as the police claimed?
11. Panorama Programme “Murder in the Alps”.
On the 21.10.13 BBC broadcast an hour long Panorama programme on the Chevaline killings by Jane Corbin entitled “Murder in the Alps”. It can be viewed here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b03fgstr/Panorama_Murder_in_the_Alps/ . For the first time an interview with one of the French Foresters had been obtained, and the information he provided would be significant for the official story line. The ONF employee, who remained anonymous, stated he drove down at the critical time, yet refers not at all to either the Al Hillis or the two cyclists coming up. He said that as he passed the lay-by he noticed a motor cyclist on his machine parked up on his left hand side. It was suggested this was the lone killer waiting for the victims to arrive. We have calculated the time at about 3.15 pm, i.e. only fifteen minutes before shooting was heard, timed by three witnesses.
He adds that on the way down a grey British RHD BMW X5 passed him going up, driven by a dark skinned man. He also reports that two of his colleagues had met the motor cyclist further up the dog leg. This location coincidentally correlates with the one early newspaper reports had inaccurately identified as the murder site as referred to above! He said they stopped him and interviewed him briefly before making him return down the way he came, presumably following him in their truck. He says they saw his face and that he had a small beard. Presumably, and implausibly, they didn’t record the registration number or take the man’s details. Given the fact that this was now past the time of the shooting, if they escorted him back down, incredibly they must have passed the murder scene in all its gory detail! So why no mention of this central fact by Maillaud or why the motor cyclist was not immediately apprehended?
As we noted above, the first ONF guy did not claim to pass either SM, WBM or SAH on his continued journey down the valley (nor indeed that his colleagues did either who came down after him) so this must push the time of their sightings back even further. Yet the British police gave the time the BMW X5 was spotted one kilometre up the Combe as 3.20 pm so on this basis none of the victims were approaching Martinet until after he departed the Combe about 3.30 pm. This is a clear conflict of evidence. Either the first forestry guy passed both the motor cyclist and the Al Hillis, or he passed them coming up the Combe or they didn’t enter the Combe until after the shooting was said to take place, which is clearly ludicrous. Why we may ask, is Maillaud so adamant that the Al Hillis arrived as late as 3.30 pm and were shot immediately upon arrival, when all the evidence points otherwise?
The programme claims that SAH arrives at Martinet at about 3.40 pm and WBM arrives about 3.45pm despite the shots being heard at 3.30 pm! Apart from allowing no more than five minutes for SM to arrive and the Al Hillis to park and get out of their car, all be shot dead and the assailant(s) to escape without trace before Martin arrives, it clearly conflicts with the shots heard at 3.30. Arriving after the shots that killed them is plainly impossible.
Then there is the matter of the first call. The programme confirms WBM couldn’t make the first call, yet it is still claimed it was made at 3.48 pm. In other words on the programme’s timings of him arriving at 3.45 pm, the first call would have to be made only THREE minutes after. In this three minutes WBM had to complete a range of actions and cycle down the hill to meet PD/B. This also is clearly impossible. Either WBM had to arrive early enough for the 3.48 pm call to be made or the call was not made at that time by either Martin or Didierjean/Bossy. Why does Panorama suggest impossible scenario?
The ONF informer states that the same motor cyclist was intercepted further up the track, the rider interviewed with helmet off presumably as he gives a brief description. As quasi law enforcers it is quite unbelievable that they would not have obtained personal and bike details which have never been released. Even in a brief conversation from accent and other factors a general description can be obtained. So what possible justification could there have been for with-holding that information for over a year and for more than a month after the programme went out? Maillaud’s explanation it was because he didn’t want the individual to hide appears naïve in the extreme. Now they apparently escorted him down from the mountain track. So they too would have had to pass Martinet, but still no sign of the victims it appears either there or further down, nor a second sighting of the BMW X5! So where has everyone gone? If the Forestry worker’s testimony is reliable, and at no stage have the French sought to counter it, the implications are dramatic, because it places two ONF vehicles either side of the murders time wise, and in direct physical contact with Maillaud’s chief suspect, yet never revealed or referred to in over a year! If the second vehicle came upon the murder scene, as it must, what did its two occupants do? Or is the whole story just another fabrication to confuse? If the Panorama forestry worker is telling the truth it raises very serious questions about the sequence of events and what was witnessed by whom, not to mention who did what. The prosecutor has admitted he withheld vital information. Why?
12. Motor Cyclist Photo Fit.
The Panorama story forced Maillaud’s hand to very belatedly reveal an “identi-kit” likeness of the motorcyclist that he had kept secret for over a year. It was nevertheless more than a month before he eventually released it when it and the story, gained widespread publicity. Rather an amateurish pencil drawing of a bearded man with a helmet, with “see-through” characteristics. Rather too conveniently you might think, the image of the man happens to match with almost spooky similarity, the face of Eric Devouassoux, almost as if taken from his identity card! He is the decorated ex-gendarme, recently sacked from his local “Community Policeman” role in a township at the other end of lake Annecy, which just happens to be the place where Brett Martin had his holiday home, and another murder had recently taken place! Given all the problems with the story in general, the credibility of the identi-kit image is also questionable. The arrest and subsequent release of the look-a-like Eric Devouassoux amidst first incriminating then exhonerating him, adds to the confusion.
In summary, if there was a motor cyclist in the two locations and times calculated, and if as is claimed the first ONF guy passed the BMW X5 on its way up at 3.20 pm but not the Al Hilli’s, then the latter must have already been at the lay-by, and seen by the first ONF guy. More significantly, if the second ONF team subsequently escorted the motorbike man down off the mountain, they must have passed the lay by and the scene of carnage. The timing demands it. This has never been suggested or admitted but it is inescapable logic of the forester’s testimony. Someone must be telling lies or hiding the truth.
13. Camp Site Argument.
Before we move on from the Panorama programme, we should also highlight the fact that it also alleged for the first time in the public arena the the night prior to the murders, Saad was witnessed in an heated argument with another man at the camp site. Previous to that only vague and disputed claims had been made regarding a foreign-looking man visiting. If reliable, this sighting was also significantly never revealed by Maillaud or a description circulated. Yet another oversight or intentional concealment?
The Telegraph man (By Rory Mulholland, Paris 10:13AM GMT 18 Feb 2014) appears to put a bit more “flesh on the bones”. His remark about the “camp site conversation” is rather curious. He indicates Le Parisien was the source for this story and adds they “gave no indication of the content of their talk.” To me this seems to indicate Parisien KNEW the content but chose not to reveal it. If correct this would mean the authorities were in no doubt what that meeting was about and whom. The fact that this has never been revealed suggests an intention to conceal and therefore a significant fact. He says:
“The Hillis arrived in the area on September 1 and initially stayed in another camp-site. But they were unhappy with the spot they were allocated and moved to a camp-site called Le Solitaire du Lac. It was there that Hilli reportedly received his visitor. Le Parisien gave no indication of the content of their talk.A BBC Panorama programme broadcast talked to two key witnesses who described seeing a motorbike and a BMW 4×4 close to the murder scene. It said the motorcyclist was the likely killer, and French authorities have since announced they will release a photo-fit image of the man.”
Both male victims away from work/home in strange circumstances, in family disputes, financial difficulties, interpersonal conflict immediately prior, fearful for their lives, meeting at a remote spot, at the same time, killed in the same manner yet not related Mr Maillaud? Who are you trying to kid?
14. Dramatic New Developments 2014.
Now we move on to some rather dramatic developments that have occurred since the beginning of 2014, culminating in the arrest of Messrs Devouassoux (see: http://i4.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article3164085.ece/ALTERNATES/s298/Eric-Devouassoux-3164085.jpg ) and Falcy, to which might aptly applied the term an “investigative pyrhric victory” perhaps?
On the 5th January, 2014 the British Sunday Times under a Peter Allen by-line, published arguably the first image, after fourteen months, an image of Sylvain Mollier. How it got there is not clear as the family and French authorities had been obdurately opposed to releasing it. As this is contrary to standard police practice for obvious reasons, it is reasonable to ask why? Maillaud’s reason was that “every family deserves its privacy” however when it is considered in relation to his claim that Mollier was not a target and family and financial matters were kept secret in start contrast to his treatment of the Al Hillis, a rather more questionable motive begins to emerge.
Mollier it belatedly was revealed was resented by his new partner’s wealthy Shultz family and there were raw feelings with his ex wife and even other females. The new in-laws had influential connections with politicians that led right up to the government itself. Perhaps this could provide an explanation surrounding the reluctance to reveal personal details or his image? Or were there more sinister reasons for blocking its publication? Allen wrote, “An alleged “vow of silence” by those close to Mollier has fuelled claims that an individual or group known to him wanted him dead.”

In other words it was still not a contemporary photograph. Approximating the age of the subject to between twenty and twenty five years, it can be estimated that it was taken at some time between the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. It appears as if maybe he was in a college or works football team or some such. However from our point of view, it is further confirmation that on the part of family and/or authorities there is still a reticence to publish an up to date likeness of him for some reason. How and by what method it came into the possession of the Times Paris correspondent is another intriguing question. I repeat despite many indicators to the contrary, Maillaud has been adament that SM was not an intended target.
15. Zaid al Hilli Released.
On the 15th January 2014 the Daily Mail and other outlets reported British police had released Zaid Al-Hilli - arrested on 24 June 2013 on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder - from his bail conditions on the grounds there was ‘insufficient evidence’ to charge him with any criminal offence. In contrast it was reported the French were considering applying for an international arrest warrant, Maillaud still regarding him as his prime suspect. 16. First French Arrests, Lathuile.
On the 18th February, 2014 it was announced that a 48-year-old man, had been arrested as he left his home in the village of Lathuile close to Chevaline. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/french-alps-murder-picture-eric-3160241 He was later identified as an ex decorated gendarme and local municipal policeman Eric Devouassoux, despite specific threats by Maillaud that he would prosecute anyone who leaked personal details. Le Parisien also reported that he was also a reservist in the gendarmerie, a position open to any reasonably fit person over 17 who has completed military service and had provided security at the court in Annecy. Both he and his friend Mr Falcy were from Lathuile. Lathuile you may remember was where WBM had his holiday home and where in early November 2013 a woman, Nicole Tournier , was shot dead in her home by intruders. She and her husband owned and ran a camping site only a couple of miles from where the Al Hillis stayed. http://www.ledauphine.com/haute-savoie/2013/11/11/meurtre-a-lathuile-une-femme-de-54-ans-tuee-d-une-decharge-de-fusil-de-chasse A further co-incidence, in this co-incidence packed story, is that her husband, Mr. Communal-Tournier is the head of the Lathuile/Doussard/Chevaline forestry body and therefore intimately connected to local ONF staff. Given what we have learned about two ONF vehicles at the scene, we have to wonder if the fatal attacks were any way connected, even from a point of view of intimidating or eliminating witnesses? Clearly Mr Maillaud doesn’t think so.
At the time of the arrest rather incriminating background was made available to the press including derogatory character appraisals suggesting he was unpopular and racist, had been sacked from his job in the previous June, that he collected firearms and that his mobile phone placed him near the crime scene on the day in question. “taciturn highlander”; “living on the fringe”.
“a weapons enthusiast”; “48 year old man in Chevaline”; “lives around Chevaline” (so
even smaller community than Annecy) “no known employment”; Mr Maillaud was quoted as saying: “This man bears a strong resemblance to someone we know to have been close to the scene of the crime. His mobile phone activated a relay antenna near the crime scene, but we cannot say if it was a few hundred metres or a few kilometres.” See:Within three days most of these claims had been challenged or modified or evaporated and a link to the murders withdrawn. The remarkable likeness to the image of the alleged motor cyclist, Maillaud’s top suspect for killer, has never been explained. Some may think the arrest had all the makings of a set-up or distraction – yet another line of enquiry that had drawn a blank.
In the following video discussing established modus operandi for state assassination, this caution rings out: “Whenever a lone crazed killer – there is always a lone crazy guy – it’s always the same reason, ‘alone’ so there is no conspiracy, and ‘crazy’ so there is no motivation. ‘Case closed; bury the guy; throw away the key and nobody needs to look into it’. Every time there’s a lone crazy guy, watch out. Don’t buy into it. Smelly, smelly, SMELLY.”

Renewed attention is being focused on the possibility the gunman was a lone psychopath, rather than a professional hit-man hired as a result of a financial dispute or international espionage. ”
17. The Strange Cases of Fred Brun and Stan Maillaud
Whilst on the subject of co-incidences perhaps we should mention the case of Frederick Brun who died on Sept. 29, 2012 i.e. a little over three weeks after the massacre, on a mountain road, Col de l’Arpettaz (Ugine) in a 4WD Pajero. You will remember the initial police appeal was for a dark Pajero. As far as I am aware the two front seat drivers have never been revealed. Mr Brun sat in the back and was still there when his vehicle was found against a tree.
It is claimed Mr Brun was something of a private detective who was in close contact with Sylvain Mollier’s ex hairdresser wife. No suspicious circumstances surrounded his death it was decided and no one was charged with any road traffic offence as far as I am aware. Nevertheless the location, time (8 pm Saturday) and the fact that neither driver or front passenger were injured whilst Brun in the back was killed may be considered somewhat unusual. An obituary annoucement appeared on the same day, on the same page as that of Sylvain Mollier.
There has been some discussion as to whether he was in one of the ONF vehicles. This is one of the accident reports google translated at

So this blogger suggested in 2006 Sylvain MOLLIER might have been connected to Frédérique BRUN via his employment and in 2008 through Solidarité & Progrès Ugine. I am not in a position to say whether this is correct or not. There are many Bruns (Browns) in France as there are in Britain, so the case and any connection remains unresolved. Only locals would know and they’re not speaking.
The second co-incidence relates to the disappearance of one Stan Maillaud on the 22nd September, 2012 (note date) He was an ex gendarme engaged in chasing cases of child sexual cruelty, an issue in France as much as in Britain. He was thought to be in police custody but although not charged with any crime, has not reappeared.

You may think he bears a striking resemblance to his namesake EM, you may not. Whether they are related is an interesting question in the light of his disappearance only a couple of weeks after Chevaline.

18. Dramatic Photographs Leaked
On the very same day of the arrests (18th February 2014) something in a quiet way far more seismic occurred. Three photographs were published in a French source,

Fortunately they were also carried in the British press where they may still be seen at http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2561919/Man-arrested-France-connection-murder-British-family-French-Alps.html For the very first time they included two shots of the crime scene showing what we assume is the body of Sylvain Mollier lying next to the Al Hilli’s car and an image of the family that the police refused to issue on the grounds it was “too gory”. Again, how these images got into the papers is an interesting question. An examination of the photographs can be revealing.

First because Maillaud refused to make it public on the grounds that it would be “morbid” to do so. Second he stated emphatically that it had been taken at 3.15 pm and established the fact they must have driven direct to Martinet arriving at 3.30 pm. Third he used the fact that they appeared relaxed and unconcerned to support his theory that the trip to Martinet was purely social with no stressful overtones.
Maillaud was quoted as saying, “Photos recovered from a digital camera found at the scene show the family smiling in front of a pretty flower-covered stone farmhouse, suggesting they had not been lured to the remote forest site but had spent the day happily sightseeing.”
So the first thing we notice this photo is not that photo. If this was taken before the trip to Martinet they must have taken two photos making a detour after the builders seeing them just before 3:00 pm even less likely. If Maillaud is right, and this photo was taken immediately before the trip to Martinet as he claimed, and if Fillion is right that he went past them just before three, doubling back to Arnand is the only unlikely explanation. The trouble is if they took two photographs before returning and if at least one of them was taken at 3.15 pm as he claimed, there is simply not time to get back to Martinet four Kilometres away and park up and be killed by 3.30 pm. The story does not work.
Now take another look at the photograph. It shows four people in summer clothes. The day is obviously sunny and warm. This does not accord with either the weather on the fifth of September (overcast and showery) or what we were told about their clothing – that they were smartly dressed and that Zeena was able to hide under the skirts of the women (Iqbal and Suhaila) sitting in the back. Is this claim borne out by the image?
Then take a look at Zeena in the arms of her mother. Is it conceivable that a child of that size could hide herself in the space between front and rear seats, be there silent and un-moving for no less than eight hours, and not be spotted by one of the many professionals who swarmed around for all that time? I would say it is literally incredible. If incredible we are faced by the inevitable conclusion the story is a fabrication and that some other explanation is required - that she was abducted either by killers or rescuers and later produced with a cover story to explain her reappearance. Strangely early on, Maillaud is on record as saying one of the girls had died despite knowing Zainab had survived, so to whom was he referring?
20. Photo 2 – Aerial Shot of Martinet

The first thing to notice is its an aerial photo. It has subsequently been confirmed to have been taken by a drone (!) soon after the police arrived. Apart from raising the interesting question how they got a drone there so quickly in contradistinction to the lack lustre investigation, it provides a previously unrevealed insight. The position of the moribund Mollier and the location of bullets is revealed for the first time, beside the position of the car and tyre tracks left in the gravel surface of the lay-by.
A little more than two months after the event, in other words long enough to get a clear idea about what happened, the Telegraph reported as follows:
“Forensic tests of bullet trajectories, position of the bodies and tyre tracks from the al-Hilli’s vehicle have revealed that Zainab and her father were outside the car when the gunman approached, firing from the forest trail above them. Mr al-Hilli appears to have bolted for the car before reversing in a u-turn and possibly running over Mr Mollier.
The car slammed into the bank at the rear of the forest lay-by, where its rear axle became stuck – allowing the gunman to shoot Mr al-Hilli, Iqbal and Mrs al-Allaf at close range.
Zainab has told British police that she was outside the car with her father when the shooting began, and that she was pistol-whipped and shot in the shoulder.Some have suggested that the attackers might have been torturing her to pressure her father, and that the situation then spiralled out of control, possibly when Mr Mollier stumbled on the scene. Although the Frenchman bore the brunt of the gunfire police have ruled him out as the target. Mr Maillaud: “We are 99 per cent sure he was nothing to do with it.”
Unfortunately this photo, which Maillaud and his team must have seen and studied by then, does not support his interpretation of events in any way. The ten to fourteen (10-14) yellow markers which presumably indicate the location of used cartridges, are all at the lower end of the lay-by. Semi-automatic pistols usually eject up and to the shooter’s right. These “shells” therefore perfectly match firing positions either side of the car in its final position NOT the interpretation that the shooter “ approached, firing from the forest trail above them” or that the shooting started when the car faced in at the top, which has always been Maillaud’s version.
Nor can the clear image of the tyre marks be made to fit Maillaud’s theory that they were made by Saad’s car reversing. To start with the width is clearly different, the one on the right that sweeps around, is thicker and much darker from torque and acceleration forces. Nor by any stretch of the imagination could the prostrate body of Mollier have been struck, run over or dragged by Saad’s car. This is supported by the absence of grazes or imprinted marks on the body. So the official interpretation must be a fabrication to explain away the second set of tyre marks and/or more than one killer and an inevitable conspiracy.
The ones in the front/left foreground would approximate to someone firing into the car on the drivers side as most semi automatics eject up and to the RIGHT. Then I believe I can see four markers on the nearside of the car in the vegetation partly obscured, which on the same basis would fit the shots being fired right to left on the photo. It is also reasonable to assume spent cartridges ended up in the undergrowth from this one. The problem with the two directions is that you have to factor in a time lapse as ONE shooter moves from the right hand side to the drivers door which would have involved the risk of SAH running over him. Two shooters fit much better but again the police have ruled this out. Given the above we cannot rely on their stated opinions.
I have made this case from the beginning. Maillaud has obdurately stuck to the theory that it was SAH’s car that made the semi-circular tracks and that the attack started at the top end of the lay-by, presumably in an attempt to rule out another vehicle. Not only are there no shell casings at the top end, they are all at the bottom, proving the attack happened there where the car was always stationed and the semi circular tracks must have been made by another vehicle.
This photograph has only just been made available to us the public. The police had the information from the beginning. Their false interpretation must therefore have been quite intentional for which there must have been a pressing need. The photo proves conclusively that they lied.
21. Photo 3 – Ground Shot of Martinet

Both this and the previous one show Mollier’s location and posture. He lies neatly on his back, legs and arms quite straight. This is not typical of a person shot in a hail of bullets particularly if he was running away. Such a person would tend to fall frontwards and appear crumpled and bent, often in what is termed “the recovery position”. Further a person shot but not killed in the first instance, as suggested of poor Mollier, is more likely to be in a frontal crawling position. His indicated position is therefore far too neat and tidy to reflect how he fell. It does however fit somewhat, being turned over, dragged or arranged on his back.
This to some extent fits WBM’s account of what he did. If as he says he moved him, did he drag him by arms or legs? In other words from the front or back of the lay-by? If as WBM said it was to move him from the front it tends to be answered. However as previously discussed, this could not have been from the location that the police put out, on the off-side of the car, as the evidence nor logic support it: there is no blood trail from that side and it would not make sense for WBM to drag a body in front of the car if his intention was to remove it from danger should the car come forward as he said. Further in his testimony he stated that he went around the other side of the car after attending to Mollier to turn off the engine.
So we have to conclude yet again the French interpretation of events is a falsehood. Cyclists usually carry a back pack but there is none to be seen and its not detailed enough to tell whether he still has his helmet on or not. This is definitely where he laid and bled as it matches up with the early noted blood stain. In no way could this have involved the risk of SAH running over him. Two shooters fit much better but again the police have ruled this out. Given the above we cannot rely on their stated opinions. If SAH reverse manoeuvre is ruled out he COULD NOT have struck SM as the police also claimed. So we are faced with only two alternatives: either that he was struck and dragged is a lie; or he was struck by the attackers vehicle.

Note it sticks almost exactly to the flawed French Prosecutor’s “authorised version” although there’s a suggestion of challenge in relation to the position of the gunman.Had he stood in the middle shooting at a reversing Saad Hilli, it is unlikely he could have completed the manoeuvre.

In all, 25 shots were fired.”
Note even at this late stage they cannot make up their minds whether it was 21 or 15 bullets fired! Further, despite it being claimed that SM was shot either five or seven times, itself a puzzle, this article states he sustained only FOUR bullet wounds including only one “in the cheek” (rather strange) whereas previously there had been two bullets in the head. This confusion over bullets and wounds must be intentional on the part of the French authorities.
22. Discussion on the Implications of the Panorama and Photograph Revelations.
Our difficulty as outsiders in such a hall of mirrors not knowing what is substance, what is image, or indeed the reflection bears the hall marks of the true but subtly altered here and there, at on time becoming long and thin, at the next short and fat, close or distant? The French and British are on separate tracks, although neither is virgin white.
Then we have a layer cake of function and object vying for supremacy. Does justice top national security? Does truth top the greater good? Does bi-lateral and multi lateral relations top betrayal? Does honest science and policing top the need for subterfuge? To what extent does demanding justice in the particular case, render it likely injustice in a wider one?Immediately after the Panorama programme was put out I flagged up the subtle (?) changes to the story line in addition to the dramatic ones introduced by that silhouetted ONF1. It’s curious how the French took it on the chin. No condemnation of their “snitch”. No attempt to dispute his evidence despite the inevitable problems it caused? Instead the basically agree and announce they have had a photo-fit of the biker from the beginning! This is all very peculiar and I have no simple explanation for it.
Are the French really that stupid not to see the IMPLICATIONS of tying two ONF vehicles and at least three ONF personnel to their chief suspect on the bike, and either side of the murder scene both physically and time wise? None of this can be explained rationally and EM is unlikely to help given previous performance.
Pushing the killing 10 minutes later to 3.40 pm and WBM’s arrival to 3.45 pm only helps “the last photo @ 3.15″ scenario whilst causing greater problems else where in the time line. (We will leave aside the three witnesses who all put the shots at 3.30 for a moment)
First it would make his Chevaline/Martinet trip 3.15 pm to 3.45 pm. This could put the X5 one K up the Combe ahead of him. If they had used different access routes (Moulin v. Chevaline) it could have been there without passing him. However within the time frame if it reached Martinet by say 3.25 pm (whether it was the killer or not) it could not have got back out of the Combe without passing him in the opposite direction at say 3.35 pm when WBM had to be well up the track.
Problem is this now clashes with the new shooting time of 3.40 pm which means that if the X5 is the killer he can’t start back until after that time. This has two implications: he would have had to waited at the layby for about ten minutes before shooting and he would have passed WBM virtually the same time as he was arriving.
In any event if shooting takes place at 3.40 pm and WBM arrives at 3.45 pm, that’s virtually on top of the event. There’s the problem he said he didn’t hear the shots nor does he identify the X5, a very distinctive RHD X5 going past him.
Remember also that SM has to arrive before him before the shooting can start.
If WBM is 3.15 pm – 3.45 pm, how does that effect SAH’s car. Is it possible SAH could have been just ahead of him? If they left Arnand and the TWO photos some time around 3.15 pm and used the Moulin route I suppose at a push its just possible. It would put them entering the combe at about the same time as WBM ie 3.30 pm. It would also have to be after ONF1 has left because he doesn’t claim to pass him. Then the next problem is the WBM changes his story and says the vehicle that passed him was not the X5 but “probably” the Al Hillis. I don’t buy this at all.In addition what vehicle (4×4) and bike passed him on the way down and precisely where? Does this pass him before the new killing time of 3.40 pm or after. If before neither ONF2 OR the MC are the killers. If after they MUST be implicated in some way. If the X5 arrived no later than 3.30 and left no earlier than 3.40 (killing time) and ONF2 and motorbike passed WBM before he arrived, both X5 and ONF2/MB must have been at the lay-by at the same time or passed one another en route.
These are all problems of course for the theory of the “lone MC killer”.
Now let’s look at WBM’s arrival time for other implications, If it was 3.45 pm it gives only THREE MINUTES to the initial 3.48 pm call doesn’t it? This is even not enough time to allow him his described actions before he ATTEMPTS a call let alone if he has to go through all that stuff and cycle down the hill to meet PD/B. So if WBM did arrive at 3.45 pm it blows apart the rest of the police and his story.So where does that leave us? “You pays your money and takes your choice”. I still believe for the reasons listed, supported by the recent photographs, that that Arnand photo is not immediately prior to the killings. The timings are just all too tight and unsupported by witness statements. (I don’t believe for one moment the car would not have been seared into WBM’s memory had it passed him up the Combe given what followed) I prefer to accept as reliable the Fillion-Robin builders evidence and the much more likely scenario that they continued to Martinet about 3 pm. And that the three witnesses to the gun shots put them at (within a couple of minutes either way) 3.30 pm.
Now we have a choice: “either – or, or not at all”. The X5 going up at 3.20 pm would be able to get there to shoot at 3.30 pm. If there was a X5, and it was the killer car, it puts the ONF2 in the clear (virtually) unless they were implicated or in supporting role. If the MC was the killer that EM has fastened his reputation to, how come ONF2 didn’t arrest him of provide sufficient information for him to be apprehended? How could ONF2 escort him off the mountain post killing without witnessing and getting involved in the massacre scene? Why after such an important role were they written out of the script?
However as I said, we cannot be sure of the existence of any of these vehicles or their occupants. They may all be lies and false trails. And do not forget builder man who’s credibility I rate quite highly, originally said a vehicle and MC went past BEFORE SAH. On this basis we might conclude the killers were parked up before SAH arrived and that they had to await SM’s arrival (yes at 3.30 pm) before the killing could begin because he was part of the target, before they steamed off back down the Combe at about 3.35 pm – 3.40 pm just as WBM is arriving. Everything else there just to confuse.
23. Conclusion.
Perhaps the only sure conclusion we can come to is that the French authorities have been engaged in a protracted, intentional and deeply malign deception. I am indebted to my internet friend “Marlin” from the Craig Murray site - that incredibly has had over thirty thousand posts on this subject - for neatly summing up what we consider have been the conclusions the French authorities have been anxious NOT to allow. They are as follows:
There must not be another vehicle in the lay-by
* There must not be any hint of pre-arranged meeting – either with SM or a third party.
* Consistent with the above, it is essential that SAH not be seen as arriving early at the car park and waiting around.
* There can be no allusion to SM being the target. No way, no how.
* There cannot be another party involved in the shooting, whether active or passive.
* There cannot be a definitive answer to the number of bullets, their locations (double tap etc.) or for that matter, the nature of Zainab’s injuries.
* There can be no definitive setting of the shooting time to just around 3:30 pm as heard by two witnesses.
* There can be no DNA evidence to support anything, but the non-existent DNA can be used to exclude something (or someone).
* WBM cannot be considered a suspect in any way connected with the killings. He is a “man above suspicion”, no questioning that is allowed.
* Zeena’s location in the BMW, hidden under her mother’s [not so voluminous skirt) for 8 hours, only to be found at midnight cannot be questioned.
* The timing and instigator of the 3:48 pm call better not be mentioned by anyone, ever again.By a process of reversal, also thanks to “Marlin” we get the following:
(a) there WAS another vehicle at the lay-by
(b) There WAS a pre-arranged meeting with either just SM/SAH or either one + third party.
(c) SAH DID arrive early at the car park (just after 3 pm?) for said meeting.
(d) SM was likely a target, though probably not the only one (see next post for why I believe this to be the case)
(e) There was MORE than one party involved in the shooting, either actively or passively, as in providing reconnaissance, blocking action or get-away.
(f) The police know but won’t admit to the number of bullets or the true extent of Zainab’s injuries. Nor would they disclose the exact nature and location of bullet wounds in the victims.
(g) The shooting time was likely at around 3:30 pm just as the witnesses said. Everything else are just speculations and fogging up. There appears to be a desire to move the shooting to a bit later – may be as late as 3;40Pm to allow time for the story of 3:15-3;17PM photos. I think that’s because they have been convinced by Tim V’s recreation of the impossibility of getting there, ready to be shot, in all of 15 minutes (or less, if 3.17PM is right).
(h) any information about usable DNA at the scene needs to be “fogged up”. Enough to exclude perhaps, not enough to include, and never to pin-point.
(i) WBM is likely involved in whatever went down, not necessarily as a shooter, but as a party that had a specific mission. He IS a British agent, in whatever capacity, and that is why he was let go so very very easily. The man is above suspicion because SAS says he is and that’s that.
(j) Zeena was NOT in the car for 8 hours. Where was she, we cannot know. As Tim V suggested, the story was simply invented at a later stage to keep the involvement of additional people and vehicles out of the story, essential if the “lone nut” was to stick.
(k) There was a 3:48PM call which was made by another party, not WBM. How about the ONF that just happened to be cruising down at the right time?Whether you agree with these conclusions or not is of course up to you but it still does not explain what was going on there on the afternoon of September 5th 2012 or who did the killing. However I think we can be certain it was not what the French authorities want us to believe was going on or in the way they have suggested it happened. No way was it a lone crazy killer. Rather as we have always thought, only a State action can adequately explain all the aspects or the way the French State has shown itself to be farcically inadequate in ensuring the crime was properly investigated and perpetrators brought to justice. Only corruption at the highest levels can explain it, maybe in a perverted sense of national duty. The fact that the British have remained silent, yet felt the need for permanent armed protection for the remaining members of the family, speak volumes. As does the fact that this event occurred, almost to the hour, on the fortieth anniversary of the Munich Massacre; an event that initiated an Israeli policy of state assassination that has continued to this day. This massacre happened at a place called Combe d’Ire, Chevaline. The name of the Israeli Government’s policy of retribution? Why, “Operation Wrath of God”! Just another co-incidence I suppose. END.

Very through review, Tim. Sounds like you eat, drink, and sleep this Chevaline story.
Just a note that many of your links are dead — espc. those to the crime scene photos. Somewhere I read the frog-cops are going after BFMTV or Mollier’s lawyers or threatening suit, or something, so that will cause links to go belly-up faster than an incoming coronal mass ejection.
Your point about the smaller girl being too big to hide is interesting. You complain that the mother’s skirt was not large enough to hide her, but the grandmother would likely have had an ankle-length skirt, what being an older Muslim. Besides, the reports were that the women covered the girl with their bodies, so there was more than the skirts hiding her.
But the kid’s size does seem to make the cops’ story highly unlikely. Also, if she had been in the car for 12 hours, surely there would have been urine and feces issues. Most kids that age are long out of diapers. Maybe the cops were wanting to hide the fact that she saw a lot more than they have said.
I get the sense you are backing off of you vast international conspiracy theory. I don’t see it mentioned in your comments.
You also say the weather was drizzle and rain in Chevaline that day. I don’t think so — maybe overcast. Plenty of press photos of the frog cops standing guard on the road, the aerial shots of the scene, etc. and none of them show any rain or drizzle or wet pavement. Many of the cops are shown in short sleeves, and don’t look like they’re cold — and this would have been in the evening. So I don’t know about your conclusions that the al-Hillis were not dressed appropriately in the photos.
But one thing is clear; you and your cyber-mates are making better progress than the cops.

Hi Denis, Have just spotted this, so sorry for delay in replying. This was my sort of "swan song" from the issue, as I think without any new info. coming out of France or Britain, I've sort of "hit the buffers". Enough said however to prove beyond doubt a cover-up both side of the channel but of different sorts. Rather than your observation that I have given up on "international conspiracy", quite the opposite. I think it has been proved beyond doubt. Why? Because too many confusions and inconsistencies put out by the French in particular. They must be knowingly lying in part or whole which can only be explained by conspiracy at government level. Who is actually involved or responsible is of course more difficult but the biggest fingers point east and/or west. No doubt France and/or Britain COULD have done the dirty work but I don't think that's the most likely. I would say signs are that France ALLOWED it and undertook to cover tracks. Once done the political establishment had to fall into line. Of course once this happens no one can afford to tell the truth as all are implicated. My guess is that this was a British operation that went badly wrong. That MI6 know they were double-crossed and arn't happy bunnies but unable to spill the beans without revealing a whole load of dirty washing. (Apologies for mixed metaphors!) They have however shown their displeasure by dropping the French in it so to speak. Their seeded information re. Didierjean/Bossy, the approaching 4x4 and most importantly the Forestry guys, means France MUST be implicated. The role of BM is troubling and enigmatic. He was the only "witness" who it was claimed by French source to be blood stained. His action with a dead victim cannot be rationally explained if he was a purely innocent by-stander. It is even not beyond the realms of possibility that the person wheeled out in very contrived TV interview was the same British guy on the scene! (Think about it) There is nothing that has emerged to lessen the initial widespread belief this was either a direct or "arms-length" CIA and/or Mossad operation. I'm sure it didn't escape your notice that that the French President was conveniently out of the country (in Britain as it happens) when the attack took place, nor that on his next visit about a year later, he was entertained in a pub and an air force hanger before flying back the same day.
