British Government response to Petition to repeal the Coronavirus Act, 2020

In brief: "We have no intention of doing so."

Dear Timothy Veater,

The Government has responded to the petition you signed – “Repeal the Coronavirus Act 2020”.

Government responded:

With the Coronavirus pandemic still at large, the Coronavirus Act, and the measures within it, remain as important as ever.

The current coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, which began in December 19, presents a significant, unprecedented challenge for the entire world. All of the UK has been touched by the pandemic and the use of the provisions of the Coronavirus Act should be seen in the context of the extensive and ongoing impact across the whole of society.

The development of an effective response to the pandemic required several actions. Some of these involved the use of new tools and powers that required new legislation. The UK government’s coronavirus action plan, published on 3 March, set out measures to respond to the Coronavirus pandemic that are reasonable, proportionate and were based on the latest scientific evidence. The plan envisaged that changes to legislation might be necessary in order to give public bodies across the UK the tools and powers they need to carry out an effective response to this emergency. On 25 March, the Coronavirus Act 2020 received Royal Assent. The Coronavirus Act gives us the powers we need to take the right action at the right time to respond effectively to the impact of the pandemic and should be seen as part of a wide range of public health measures designed to tackle the pandemic during its life cycle.

A balance has had to be struck between protecting the public’s health, and safeguarding individuals’ rights; and between acting swiftly to respond to fast moving events, whilst ensuring accountability and transparency. A two-year life span for this Act has been chosen to ensure that its powers remain available for a reasonable length of time, with the option for the provisions in the Act to be extended by the relevant national authority. These provisions are subject to a six-monthly review and renewal vote in the House of Commons. The first of these was held on 30 September 2020, following a debate in the House of Lords on 28 September, in which Parliament decided that the Act should continue. They are also subject to a two-monthly report to Parliament and an annual debate. Many of the provisions can be suspended if the scientific advice is that they are not needed, and revived again if it says that they are. This is a flexible and proportionate response to a major crisis.

The Act enabled action in 5 key areas:

1. increasing the available health and social care workforce – for example, by removing barriers to allow suitably experienced people, such as recently retired NHS staff and social workers to return to work (and in Scotland, in addition to retired people, allowing those who are on a career break or who are social worker students to become temporary social workers)

2. easing and reacting to the burden on frontline staff – by reducing the number of administrative tasks they have to perform, enabling local authorities to prioritise care for people with the most pressing needs, allowing key workers to perform more tasks remotely and with less paperwork, and introducing a power to suspend individual port operations if necessary for the security of the border

3. containing and slowing the virus – provisions have been introduced to allow the courts and tribunals system to continue to function throughout the pandemic and ensure that more people are able to access justice.

4. managing the deceased with respect and dignity – by enabling the death management system to deal with increased demand for its services

5. supporting people – for example, by allowing individuals to receive Statutory Sick Pay from day one, and supporting businesses, for example by providing powers that will ensure the governments of the UK are able to support the food industry to maintain supplies

The governments of the UK therefore resolved to review and where necessary amend existing legislation, to ensure that the UK’s response is consistent and effective.

The worst-case scenario has not yet come to pass, but considerable risks remain, and significant challenges still lie ahead of us. The COVID-19 outbreak has resulted in one of the largest ever shocks to the UK economy and public finances. The impact of the virus and the measures that have had to be put in place have been far reaching, affecting people’s jobs, livelihoods and wellbeing. Despite the success in reducing the burden of the virus significantly from its peak in the spring, the coming winter will present further challenges. Coinfections between seasonal coronaviruses and other respiratory viruses are common. While interactions between COVID-19 and other viruses are not fully understood, they have the potential to be negative and are likely to be more common in winter. There are also secondary risks. The pressure on the NHS and other health infrastructure is already higher in winder due to other seasonal illnesses, such as flu. As the world’s scientific understanding is still developing, it is too early to say that we know for certain precisely how the pandemic will respond to our efforts to control it in the medium to long term.

The A-Z of the Police State

Editor’s Note: Hard to believe, but John Whitehead wrote this alphabet over a year ago. It was intended for the USA but holds for Australia, too.

An A-to-Z primer of the Police State

A is for the AMERICAN POLICE STATE. A police state “is characterized by bureaucracy, secrecy, perpetual wars, a nation of suspects, militarization, surveillance, widespread police presence, and a citizenry with little recourse against police actions.”

B is for our battered BILL OF RIGHTS. In the cop culture that is America today, where you can be kicked, punched, tasered, shot, intimidated, harassed, stripped, searched, brutalized, terrorized, wrongfully arrested, and even killed by a police officer, and that officer is rarely held accountable for violating your rights, the Bill of Rights doesn’t amount to much.

C is for CIVIL ASSET FORFEITURE. This governmental scheme to deprive Americans of their liberties—namely, the right to property—is being carried out under the guise of civil asset forfeiture, a government practice wherein government agents (usually the police) seize private property they “suspect” may be connected to criminal activity. Then, whether or not any crime is actually proven to have taken place, the government keeps the citizen’s property.

D is for DRONES. It is estimated that at least 30,000 drones will be airborne in American airspace by 2020, part of an $80 billion industry. Although some drones will be used for benevolent purposes, many will also be equipped with lasers, tasers and scanning devices, among other weapons—all aimed at “we the people.”

E is for ELECTRONIC CONCENTRATION CAMP. In the electronic concentration camp, as I have dubbed the surveillance state, all aspects of a person’s life are policed by government agents and all citizens are suspects, their activities monitored and regulated, their movements tracked, their communications spied upon, and their lives, liberties and pursuit of happiness dependent on the government’s say-so.

F is for FASCISM. A study conducted by Princeton and Northwestern University concluded that the U.S. government does not represent the majority of American citizens. Instead, the study found that the government is ruled by the rich and powerful, or the so-called “economic elite.” Moreover, the researchers concluded that policies enacted by this governmental elite nearly always favor special interests and lobbying groups. In other words, we are being ruled by an oligarchy disguised as a democracy, and arguably on our way towards fascism—a form of government where private corporate interests rule, money calls the shots, and the people are seen as mere economic units.

G is for GRENADE LAUNCHERS and GLOBAL POLICE. The federal government has distributed more than $18 billion worth of battlefield-appropriate military weapons, vehicles and equipment such as drones, tanks, and grenade launchers to domestic police departments across the country. As a result, most small-town police forces now have enough firepower to render any citizen resistance futile. Now take those small-town police forces, train them to look and act like the military, and then enlist them to be part of the United Nations’ Strong Cities Network program, and you not only have a standing army that operates beyond the reach of the Constitution but one that is part of a global police force.

H is for HOLLOW-POINT BULLETS. The government’s efforts to militarize and weaponize its agencies and employees is reaching epic proportions, with federal agencies as varied as the Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration stockpiling millions of lethal hollow-point bullets, which violate international law. Ironically, while the government continues to push for stricter gun laws for the general populace, the U.S. military’s arsenal of weapons makes the average American’s handgun look like a Tinker Toy.

I is for the INTERNET OF THINGS, in which internet-connected “things” will monitor your home, your health and your habits in order to keep your pantry stocked, your utilities regulated and your life under control and relatively worry-free. The key word here, however, is control. This “connected” industry propels us closer to a future where police agencies apprehend virtually anyone if the government “thinks” they may commit a crime, driverless cars populate the highways, and a person’s biometrics are constantly scanned and used to track their movements, target them for advertising, and keep them under perpetual surveillance.

J is for JAILING FOR PROFIT. Having outsourced their inmate population to private prisons run by private corporations, this profit-driven form of mass punishment has given rise to a $70 billion private prison industry that relies on the complicity of state governments to keep their privately run prisons full by jailing large numbers of Americans for inane crimes.

K is for KENTUCKY V. KING. In an 8-1 ruling, the Supreme Court ruled that police officers can break into homes, without a warrant, even if it’s the wrong home as long as they think they have a reason to do so. Despite the fact that the police in question ended up pursuing the wrong suspect, invaded the wrong apartment and violated just about every tenet that stands between us and a police state, the Court sanctioned the warrantless raid, leaving Americans with little real protection in the face of all manner of abuses by law enforcement officials.

L is for LICENSE PLATE READERS, which enable law enforcement and private agencies to track the whereabouts of vehicles, and their occupants, all across the country. This data collected on tens of thousands of innocent people is also being shared between police agencies, as well as with fusion centers and private companies. This puts Big Brother in the driver’s seat.

M is for MAIN CORE. Since the 1980s, the U.S. government has acquired and maintained, without warrant or court order, a database of names and information on Americans considered to be threats to the nation. As Salon reports, this database, reportedly dubbed “Main Core,” is to be used by the Army and FEMA in times of national emergency or under martial law to locate and round up Americans seen as threats to national security. As of 2008, there were some 8 million Americans in the Main Core database.

N is for NO-KNOCK RAIDS. Owing to the militarization of the nation’s police forces, SWAT teams are now increasingly being deployed for routine police matters. In fact, more than 80,000 of these paramilitary raids are carried out every year. That translates to more than 200 SWAT team raids every day in which police crash through doors, damage private property, terrorize adults and children alike, kill family pets, assault or shoot anyone that is perceived as threatening—and all in the pursuit of someone merely suspected of a crime, usually possession of some small amount of drugs.

O is for OVERCRIMINALIZATION and OVERREGULATION. Thanks to an overabundance of 4500-plus federal crimes and 400,000 plus rules and regulations, it’s estimated that the average American actually commits three felonies a day without knowing it. As a result of this overcriminalization, we’re seeing an uptick in Americans being arrested and jailed for such absurd “violations” as letting their kids play at a park unsupervised, collecting rainwater and snow runoff on their own property, growing vegetables in their yard, and holding Bible studies in their living room.

P is for PATHOCRACY and PRECRIME. When our own government treats us as things to be manipulated, maneuvered, mined for data, manhandled by police, mistreated, and then jailed in profit-driven private prisons if we dare step out of line, we are no longer operating under a constitutional republic. Instead, what we are experiencing is a pathocracy: tyranny at the hands of a psychopathic government, which “operates against the interests of its own people except for favoring certain groups.” Couple that with the government’s burgeoning precrime programs, which will use fusion centers, data collection agencies, behavioral scientists, corporations, social media, and community organizers and by relying on cutting-edge technology for surveillance, facial recognition, predictive policing, biometrics, and behavioral epigenetics in order to identify and deter so-called potential “extremists,” dissidents or rabble-rousers. Bear in mind that anyone seen as opposing the government—whether they’re Left, Right or somewhere in between—is now viewed as an extremist.

Q is for QUALIFIED IMMUNITY. Qualified immunity allows officers to walk away without paying a dime for their wrongdoing. Conveniently, those deciding whether a police officer should be immune from having to personally pay for misbehavior on the job all belong to the same system, all cronies with a vested interest in protecting the police and their infamous code of silence: city and county attorneys, police commissioners, city councils and judges.

R is for ROADSIDE STRIP SEARCHES and BLOOD DRAWS. The courts have increasingly erred on the side of giving government officials—especially the police—vast discretion in carrying out strip searches, blood draws and even anal probes for a broad range of violations, no matter how minor the offense. In the past, strip searches were resorted to only in exceptional circumstances where police were confident that a serious crime was in progress. In recent years, however, strip searches have become routine operating procedures in which everyone is rendered a suspect and, as such, is subjected to treatment once reserved for only the most serious of criminals.

S is for the SURVEILLANCE STATE. On any given day, the average American going about his daily business will be monitored, surveilled, spied on and tracked in more than 20 different ways, by both government and corporate eyes and ears. A byproduct of this new age in which we live, whether you’re walking through a store, driving your car, checking email, or talking to friends and family on the phone, you can be sure that some government agency, whether the NSA or some other entity, is listening in and tracking your behavior. This doesn’t even begin to touch on the corporate trackers that monitor your purchases, web browsing, Facebook posts and other activities taking place in the cyber sphere.

T is for TASERS. Nonlethal weapons such as tasers, stun guns, rubber pellets and the like have been used by police as weapons of compliance more often and with less restraint—even against women and children—and in some instances, even causing death. These “nonlethal” weapons also enable police to aggress with the push of a button, making the potential for overblown confrontations over minor incidents that much more likely. A Taser Shockwave, for instance, can electrocute a crowd of people at the touch of a button.

U is for UNARMED CITIZENS SHOT BY POLICE. No longer is it unusual to hear about incidents in which police shoot unarmed individuals first and ask questions later, often attributed to a fear for their safety. Yet the fatality rate of on-duty patrol officers is reportedly far lower than many other professions, including construction, logging, fishing, truck driving, and even trash collection.

V is for VIPR SQUADS. So-called “soft target” security inspections, carried out by roving VIPR task forces, comprised of federal air marshals, surface transportation security inspectors, transportation security officers, behavior detection officers and explosive detection canine teams, are taking place whenever and wherever the government deems appropriate, at random times and places, and without needing the justification of a particular threat.

W is for WHOLE-BODY SCANNERS. Using either x-ray radiation or radio waves, scanning devices and government mobile units are being used not only to “see” through your clothes but to spy on you within the privacy of your home. While these mobile scanners are being sold to the American public as necessary security and safety measures, we can ill afford to forget that such systems are rife with the potential for abuse, not only by government bureaucrats but by the technicians employed to operate them. A Government of Wolves… John W. Whitehead Best Price: $1.16 Buy New $2.99 (as of 10:15 EST – Details)

X is for X-KEYSCORE, one of the many spying programs carried out by the National Security Agency that targets every person in the United States who uses a computer or phone. This top-secret program “allows analysts to search with no prior authorization through vast databases containing emails, online chats and the browsing histories of millions of individuals.”

Y is for YOU-NESS. Using your face, mannerisms, social media and “you-ness” against you, you can now be tracked based on what you buy, where you go, what you do in public, and how you do what you do. Facial recognition software promises to create a society in which every individual who steps out into public is tracked and recorded as they go about their daily business. The goal is for government agents to be able to scan a crowd of people and instantaneously identify all of the individuals present. Facial recognition programs are being rolled out in states all across the country.

Z is for ZERO TOLERANCE. We have moved into a new paradigm in which young people are increasingly viewed as suspects and treated as criminals by school officials and law enforcement alike, often for engaging in little more than childish behavior. In some jurisdictions, students have also been penalized under school zero-tolerance policies for such inane “crimes” as carrying cough drops, wearing black lipstick, bringing nail clippers to school, using Listerine or Scope, and carrying fold-out combs that resemble switchblades. The lesson being taught to our youngest—and most impressionable—citizens is this: in the American police state, you’re either a prisoner (shackled, controlled, monitored, ordered about, limited in what you can do and say, your life not your own) or a prison bureaucrat (politician, police officer, judge, jailer, spy, profiteer, etc.).

 Paris Beheading!

"Macron is adding fuel to the fire. He doesn't want to appear on the back foot, compared to the right and the far right. His main goal is to get re-elected in 2022, [so] he needs to occupy the ground of the far right. And their themes, since the end of the 19th Century, have been immigration and security." Laurent Mucchielli, a sociologist at France's National Centre for Scientific Research Quoted by BBC here:  https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-54692802

https://alkhaleejtoday.co/international/5123512/Conflans-attack-who-was-Samuel-Paty-the-martyr-professor.html

A wave of revulsion and sympathy has swept France over the brutal and unnecessary murder of the French teacher Samuel Paty (47) outside his school in the North West of Paris, Friday 16th October 2020 at about 5 pm local time.

The media reported - based on police accounts - that it was carried out by an 18 year old Chechen/Russian/Moslem man named Abdoullakh Abouyedovich Anzorov who had been a French resident since the age of six. This is is strangely a different name to that given out by the BBC in this Youtube video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FoqTxcieUQo&t=1s  Here it is (quote) "Abdullah Abeliovich" and "Abouyelovich" with no reference to 'Anzorov'.

Another strange feature of this news report is the "Amateur Video" clip used of the alleged shooting. Yet again in French terror attacks, a private video emerges of a critical moment filmed from someone's private premises. I have shown many times how these are deeply suspicious and proved to be connected to domestic and foreign security services in clearly a pre-programmed propaganda exercise, often falsified in some way. No information is given regarding the person filming or how they came to ready to do so. This information is critical in assessing the validity of the footage.

It is suggestive (at 0:22 into the video) of at least two policemen with fire arms warning and shooting the suspect whilst conveniently partially obscured by a tall green fence. What is very strange about is that the nearer officer appears to wear a ballaclava at the beginning, which then reverts to a normal white covid face mask! The officer does not wear a helmet or any other head gear. Three other officers appear in the clip.

The shot ranges wildly both panning, cutting and changing magnification. The police car is still arriving when the filming starts which suggests the person who shot it was primed and ready for the confrontation from the start. You will have to make your own mind up about it, but there is enough here to treat it with extreme caution. Obviously the BBC thought it authentic enough to use in a long tradition of such unquestioning acceptance!

Anzorov was killed almost immediately after the attack in a hail of police bullets, nine it is reported hitting his body. The story goes that this was justified because he posed a threat, firing an air pistol with plastic 'bullets' or alternatively threatening with a knife.

Differing accounts always raise credibility issues but these are seldom if ever challenged by mainstream media who quickly transfer their coverage to the personal and public expressions of grief and outrage. As a result questions surrounding anomalies and strange features of the case are never asked and never answered.

Asking awkward questions is something I tend to specialize in on this Blog, though I doubt many take notice. The factual basis for what I say is included in the MSM abstracts below and in other research of the topic. The questions flow from that.

Firstly we note how the circumstances of the murder and the shooting fit rather too conveniently with prevailing social and political narratives. Not only was the claimed assailant a Muslim, he was also a Russian into the bargain, thus killing two birds (so to speak) with one stone, although of course it was not birds or stones that did the damage. The Russian Embassy immediately disclaimed responsibility and pointed out that by virtue of his long absence Anzorov was no longer a Russian national, but the psychological impact has been made.

The scene of the killing has been sealed off and investigation is under way

Beheading has become a very prominent feature of radical Islam and used to propaganda advantage by the West in support of its geo/political military activity, most recently in Syria. Played up in that conflict but played down in Saudi Arabia, it has been used to unfairly characterise Muslim nations and beliefs as backward and brutal. Some of this may be deserved but the beheading of a teacher in the Parisian suburbs certainly reinforces the perception and increases alienation between ethnic and religious groups.

Also rather conveniently the killing comes when a group of individuals are standing trial for the Charlie Hebdo attacks and when all of France has seen massive demonstrations against the policies of its President Macron. Currently also locked down over the alleged threat from Covid 19, a brutal murder that can be blamed on a Russian Muslim man, can act as a unifying and distracting issue. Note how these events are always seemingly channelled into protestations of love and togetherness.

Emmanuel Macron has used the event to pursue both an anti-Russian and anti-Muslim policy, though carefully nuanced. His interpretation was that the killing reflects a primitive attack on the freedom of speech and religious freedom, whilst paradoxically cracking down on both. Of course a very similar phenomenon is happening in closely aligned Britain, suffering unprecedented repression and control under a smokescreen of threats both foreign and domestic, political, social, biological and environmental.

It is claimed that the attacker paid two pupils about 300 Euros to stay outside the school with him and identify Mr Paty when he emerged. (It has not been explained where this and the other ancilliary costs of travel etc. came from) Further that there was a complicated back story of a parent who made formal complaints to the police about the teacher. This parent, Brahim Chnina, who is now in custody and had apparently a sister who had joined ISIS in Syria in 2014, had been in contact with the killer it is said by phone, prior to the attack.

All these circumstances raise questions. Anzorov lived  in Normandy town of Évreux, about 100km (60 miles) from the murder scene. He had no known links to either Mr Paty or his school. So why was Anzorov chosen. How did he travel the sixty miles that afternoon? He surely wasn't acting on his own initiative or from personal motive as he knew neither Paty or school. So whose instructions was he obeying?

Then there was the fact that he was 'loitering outside the school' apparently for at least two hours with pupils unknown to him. We are told he had an air gun and large (12") knife, that the police were called because of his suspicious activity - a total stranger loitering outside a school - yet there is no word as to how the police responded at that stage. They would surely have interviewed and probably searched him, given the circumstances long before Mr Paty came out? Remember police in Paris are on a state of high alert in connection with the Charlie Hebdo trial which must surely have heightened their suspicions of this stranger outside a school where there was previous evidence of Muslim related complaints by a man with links to ISIS! Simply unbelieveable.

A picture of the beheaded teacher was posted on Twitter it is claimed just before 5 pm. We do not know what time the teacher left the school or whether he noticed the stranger prior to  the attack. However it is reported he was walking home.

Here the reports are clearly misleading. They say he was ten minutes away from home but that is if he was travelling by car. It is actually 45 minutes on foot. So there are questions arising. Was it Paty's habit to walk there and back every day, taking an hour and a half of his time? Or did he drive a car or use public transport? Either way the suggestion he was only ten minutes from home on foot, is inaccurate and it raises an important doubt about the voracity of the account.

Jean-François Ricard during a press conference at the Paris court stated the attacker’s phone, found near his body, “made it possible to find in the notepad the text of the claim, recorded at 12:17 p.m. as well as the photograph of the deceased victim, time-stamped at 4:57 p.m.” he added.

This obviously raises an intriguing question (beyond the convenient discovery of a mobile phone next to his body with incriminating evidence on it) not only in relation to the 4:57 time stamp, which has been used to fix the end of the attack, but also the 12:17 one. Are we to believe that Anzorov claimed public credit for the evil deed almost five hours before the actual event, but no one raised an alarm? Bragging after an event may almost be explained. Bragging 3 hours 40 minutes prior to actually knowing how it would happen, not only makes no sense, it raises serious doubts over tampering with the phone by persons other than the accused.

Another detail of the account raises a question in my head. Given that we are told Anzorov was shooting an imitation gun and brandishing a 12 inch blade, both his hands must necessarily have been occupied, ergo his phone could not have been in his hand when he was shot nine times. So how was it found "near his body"? How would it have got there?

If not held in the hand, a mobile phone is always secreted in a pocket or purpose made holder attached to a belt and unlikely to be detached even where the user is shot dead. We might expect it to be still on the body somewhere, yet apparently it was found detached 'nearby'. Of course he may have attempted to dispose of it prior to the stand off, by throwing it away, but then it could hardly be described as being 'near by'. We have become too well aware of the amazing frequency with which professional terrorists have repeatedly left incriminating items behind them at the scene of attacks, to regard such curious details as insignificant.

A picture of the beheaded teacher was posted on Twitter it is claimed just before 5 pm . We do not know what time the teacher left the school or whether he noticed the stranger prior to  the attack. However it is reported he was walking home. Here the reports are clearly misleading. They say he was ten minutes away from home but that is if he was travelling by car. It is actually 45 minutes on foot.

Reports state Paty was murdered 'a street near the school'  and that there were witnesses, some of whom reported he said "Allah Akbar" at the time. However what is astounding is that only minutes later he is shot dead by armed police following a confrontation.

Astounding that armed police were on the scene so quickly; astounding that they immediately identified the man as the murderer; astounding that they shot him dead without making any effort to arrest him alive; astounding that it was only 600 yards from the scene of the murder and Anzorov had no escape plan in place.

Local Mayor Eragny Thibault Humbert told Europe 1: "It is necessary to underline the speed with which the police officers neutralized the individual."

Unusually, I have been unable to find any maps of the various relative locations, or relevant videos, but the above facts alone give rise to suspicions that all is not as the official narrative describes it.

On the one hand we are told the police were on scene to investigate a suspicious loitering person with weapons, outside the school but with no connection to it or the pupils, for at least two hours but the police do nothing to intervene; yet that within literally minutes the man was located, identified as the murderer and shot dead by armed police.

These are clearly two conflicting iterations of police involvement and efficiency. Alternatively they may point to a much darker explanation of events.

The confused reports over Anzorov's reaction when confronted are worrying. Was he carrying an air rifle as some reports suggested or an air pistol? If he was a serious terrorist and murderer working to instructions, why not a real gun? Why not a serious attempt to escape? No one reports seeing him carrying the 12 " knife apparently despite it being difficult to conceal. No one reports seeing him covered in blood. Was he attempting to attack the police with a toy gun or with a large blade? Which is it or was it both? "Anzorov shot at the police with an air rifle and tried to stab them with a knife," it is reported.

Airsoft replica guns

But if the latter, how can this be reconciled with Mr Ricard's claim that“a second knife with a total length of 35 centimeters, bloodied, was discovered about thirty meters from the scene of the crime”.

That would mean Anzorov was carrying not one but two blades over twelve inches long, and that the one he had used to kill Paty was actually discarded 30 m away.  Where the bloodied knife was found is of course critical as are other facts not revealed such as is it Mr Paty's blood on it and Anzorov's finger prints and DNA? In the absence of those two critical components, the allegation Anzorov was the murderer of course fall away. Suspiciously no information is forthcoming on this point and no explanation given as to where Anzorov was heading or his intended destination when he was confronted. Was he just wandering aimlessly sixty miles from his true home? If he was trying to flee the scene it was a very half hearted attempt it seems.

Needless to say no video or forensics have been made public that could clarify these worrying issues. Anzorov was hit at least nine times. Clearly the intention was to kill rather than disable and arrest although of course even one shot can be fatal. Perhaps however this could be described as 'over-kill'.

Finally I can't help noticing apart from the obvious Muslim/Chechen/Russian references, other names have peculiar resonnances.  Conflans-Sainte-Honorine is named after the oldest venerated martyr in Normandy whose body was thrown into the Seine. 'Paty' misses only an 's' to turn it into 'Patsy'. 'Brahim Chnina' requires only one letter removed to make 'China'. 'Abdoullakh Abouyedovich Anzorov' rather speaks for itself. Then again the numeral six and its multiples seem to crop up rather a lot. The accused was 60 miles from home; he was eighteen (3x6) ; he arrived in France when he was six and had been there twelve years; he was shot 600 m (660 yds) from the dead body of Mr Paty and was hit by nine bullets (3x3); the blade he was carrying was 12" long. Mere coincidence perhaps but still worth noting in such cases.

We should never loose sight of the way these incidents are used for political and propaganda purposes in the much wider context of global events. Nor how Europe has been beset by similar 'terrorist events' over the past decade, never devoid of suspicious and misleading narratives. Were this to be one of them the first question to be posed would be was Mr Paty murdered as described? The second, if so was Mr Anzorov responsible for it? How and why had Mr Anzorov come over sixty miles to that location? If he was indeed carrying two large knives and a replica gun was he not arrested prior to the murder? Why if a terrorist, did he not have an escape plan? How did the police locate him so swiftly (in literally minutes) , decide he was the murderer and kill him so decidedly?

Or finally, could Mr Paty have been killed by some one else, whilst Anzorov was lured to the area and subsequently shot, though innocent of the crime? Of course dead men can never dispute the official stories, in such cases, even when or if, they are carefully designed fabrications. 'Neutralising' suspect terrorists has become announced State policy both in France and Britain. It certainly has some advantages, especially if the accusation is false.

IF the official version of events is accurate in every respect, we still need to ask what could possibly possess an 18 year old youth to carry out such a violent and extreme act, on a complete stranger, in such a calm and calculated manner, many miles from his home?

Berlin (AFP) Issued on:

A knife attack that killed one tourist and seriously injured another in the German city of Dresden in early October is being treated as a terrorist attack, prosecutors said Wednesday.

A 20-year-old Syrian man was arrested on Tuesday evening (20.10.2020) and is believed to have an Islamist background, federal prosecutors in the city of Karlsruhe said, just days after the shocking Islamist beheading of a teacher in France.

The suspect allegedly attacked the two tourists, who had travelled together from North Rhine-Westphalia, on October 4.

One of them, a 55-year-old man, later died from his injuries in hospital. The other, aged 53, survived with serious injuries.

"This act once again demonstrates the danger of Islamist violence," Interior Minister Horst Seehofer said in a statement.

"Whatever the form of extremism and terrorism, the utmost vigilance is called for," he said.

The suspect has a long criminal record including charges of soliciting support for a foreign terrorist organisation, obtaining instructions to commit a serious act of violence endangering the state, bodily injury and threats.

He came to Germany in 2015 along with hundreds of thousands of Syrian migrants and had become increasingly radicalised since 2017, when police classified him as dangerous, according to a report in Der Spiegel magazine.

He had been living in Germany under "tolerated" status granted to people whose asylum requests have been rejected, but who cannot be deported.

He had only recently been released from a juvenile detention centre, on September 29, German media reported.

Police and the public prosecutor's office in Dresden said the examination of evidence had led to the Syrian man and "raised the question of an Islamist attack".

A report in the Bild daily said his DNA was detected on the knife, which police found near the scene of the crime in the city centre.

The DNA was already stored in police databases, the report said.

Responding to the news on Twitter, Justice Minister Christine Lambrecht said "Islamist terror is an ongoing major threat to our society, which we must fight against with all our might".

A history teacher was beheaded in France last week for showing cartoons of the Prophet Mohamed in a lesson on free speech, an attack that shocked the country and prompted a government crackdown on radical Islam.

The killing also led to an outpouring of emotion and solidarity in France, with tens of thousands taking part in rallies countrywide over the weekend.

People with ties to Islamist extremism have also committed several violent attacks in Germany, the deadliest being a truck rampage at a Berlin Christmas market in December 2016 that killed 12 people.

The Tunisian attacker, a failed asylum seeker, was a supporter of the Islamic State jihadist group.

More recently, an Iraqi man caused a series of motorway accidents in Berlin injuring six people, in what prosecutors described as a suspected Islamist attack.

France knife attack: Woman beheaded in Nice church, two others dead, several injured

An attacker with a knife killed three people, including a woman who was decapitated, at a church in the French city of Nice on Thursday, police said, in an incident the city’s mayor described as terrorism.

Mayor Christian Estrosi said on Twitter the knife attack had happened in or near the city’s Notre Dame church and that police had detained the attacker.

Police said two people were confirmed to have died in the attack and several were injured.

A police source said a woman was decapitated. French politician Marine Le Pen also spoke of a decapitation having occurred in the attack.

Estrosi said the attacker had shouted the phrase “Allahu Akbar”, or God is greatest.

The suspected gunman in Vienna

Several have been killed and a police officer seriously injured following a shooting at a synagogue in Vienna, according to reports.

Pictures and video appear to show gunshots being fired in the area of one of the city's main squares, with police at the scene this evening.

According to an ORF TV, several have been killed in the area, citing police.

Interior minister Karl Nehammer told the TV channel that she shooting is believed to be a terror attack.

Vienna Police on Twitter confirmed there is a "large police operation" going on in the area, and there are "persons injured".

One person has been arrested, according to news agency APA.

Obligatory runners photo

Austrian public broadcaster ORF  reports that witnesses said several shots were fired shortly after 8 p.m. local time.

The attack was reportedly on the street that houses the city's main synagogue in the area of a nearby square, Schwedenplatz.

The head of Austria's Jewish community, Oskar Deutsch, said on Twitter they are not clear whether the synagogue or adjourning officers were targets of the shots fired.

He tweeted: "It cannot be said at the moment whether the city temple was one of the goals. What is certain, however, is that both the synagogue in Seitenstettengasse and the office building at the same address were no longer in operation and closed at the time of the first shots.

"In any case, there was shooting in the immediate vicinity of the city temple. All parishioners were asked not to enter public streets and to remain in closed rooms until the all-clear from the security authorities, who worked with the IKG security department be in close contact. Please do not spread unsecured information or rumors, stay indoors and follow police instructions."

NOTE:  A brief video is added to the Mirror report using at least three different locations/sources the last of which from an upper apartment window (a regular occurance!) includes what appears to be a female Jewish voice stating "Oh my god! Oh my god!"

The Times of Israel reported following at 10:16 pm local timeAn ongoing shooting attack was underway at several sites Monday evening in central Vienna, including in the area of a synagogue and the offices of the Jewish community, killing at least seven people, Austrian media reported, prompting a large-scale police operation.  https://www.timesofisrael.com/shots-fired-near-vienna-synagogue-prompting-massive-police-operation/

There is a one hour time difference between Vienna and Tel Aviv which means the Israel article claiming seven dead appeared less than one hour after the actual incident occurred! Amazing. Also note this is six more than that claimed in the Mirror article published before 8 pm local time (one hour behind) So again video up in London in under an hour of actual incident!

The prosecutor's revelations come ahead of a national memorial service in Paris for Mr Paty.

President Emmanuel Macron will attend the event at the Sorbonne University on Wednesday evening, along with the teacher's family and some 400 guests.

He is expected to posthumously give Mr Paty France's highest award, the Legion d'Honneur,

Earlier, the president held a call with Russian President Vladimir Putin and urged co-operation in fighting terrorism. Mr Putin described the attack as a "barbarous murder".

Mr Paty's killer, Anzorov, was born in Moscow and his family is from Russia's Muslim-majority Chechnya region in the North Caucasus. He had lived in France since 2008.

Mr Macron said he wanted to see a "strengthening of Franco-Russian co-operation in the fight against terrorism and illegal immigration", the French presidency said.

Russia has played down any association with the attacker. "This person had lived in France for the past 12 years," a spokesman for the Russian embassy in Paris told the Tass news agency on Saturday.

His killer, 18-year-old Abdullakh Anzorov, was shot dead by police shortly after the attack.

On Wednesday, prosecutors said Anzorov had paid two teenage students around €300 (£270; $355) to identify Mr Paty.

The killer told the students he wanted to "film the teacher [and] make him apologise for the cartoon of the Prophet [Muhammad]", anti-terrorism prosecutor Jean-François Ricard said at a press conference.

He said Anzorov had told them he wanted "to humiliate him, to hit him".

The students, aged 14 and 15, are alleged to have described Mr Paty, 47, to Anzorov and stayed with him for more than two hours outside the school until the teacher appeared, Mr Ricard said.

The man then posted images on social media of dead victim Samuel Paty, 47, who had shown controversial cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad to his students.

The attacker later fired at police with an airgun before being shot dead.

The attack took place at about 17:00 (15:00 GMT) on Friday near the College du Bois d'Aulne, where Mr Paty taught, in the town of Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, some 30km (20 miles) north-west of central Paris.

He named the suspect as Abdoulakh A. - an 18-year-old man, born in Moscow of Chechen origin. He came to France with refugee status as a boy and was unknown to anti-terrorism police.

He lived in the Normandy town of Évreux, about 100km (62 miles) from the murder scene and had no apparent connection with the teacher or the school.

The man had been before courts but only on minor misdemeanour charges.

DW NEWS:  https://www.dw.com/en/france-teacher-decapitated-in-gruesome-islamist-terror-attack-near-paris/a-55304870

French police shot a man dead on Friday after he allegedly decapitated a teacher near Paris.

The suspect allegedly beheaded 47-year-old history teacher Samuel Paty at about 5 p.m. in Conflans Sainte-Honorine, northwest of Paris.

Local Mayor Eragny Thibault Humbert told Europe 1: "It's unbelievably violent."

"It is necessary to underline the speed with which the police officers neutralized the individual," he said.

A Twitter account purportedly operated by the killer posted a gruesome, unverified image of the killing and claimed responsibility for the attack shortly after the incident. The account was quickly suspended.

The Russian embassy in Paris later requested information about the suspect from French authorities, Russian news agency TASS reported.

Officers were called to the area after reports of a suspicious man loitering near the victim's school. They found the dead victim and saw the alleged perpetrator nearby. He was then shot dead after allegedly threatening officers.

BBC: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-54598546

Abdoulakh A is understood to have been an 18-year-old Chechen, born in Moscow, who had been living in the Normandy town of Évreux, about 100km (60 miles) from the murder scene. He had no known links to either Mr Paty or his school.

Mr Ricard said that the killer went to the school in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine on Friday afternoon and asked students to point out the teacher.

The suspect followed Mr Paty as he walked home from work. He then used a knife to attack the teacher, before beheading him.

Witnesses are said to have heard the attacker shout "Allahu Akbar", or "God is Greatest".

When police responded to the scene and confronted him, he fired at them with an airgun. Officers returned fire, hitting him nine times. A 30cm-long (12in) blade was found close by.

Paty was killed and beheaded by Abdoullakh Abouyedovich Anzorov, an 18-year-old Muslim Russian refugee of Chechen origin. French President Emmanuel Macron said that the incident was "a typical Islamist terrorist attack", and that "our compatriot was killed for teaching children freedom of speech".

Samuel Paty was born in 1973.[4] He was a middle-school teacher of history, geography, and civics who taught at Collège Bois-d'Aulne, located in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, France, a suburb 30 kilometres (19 mi) north-west of central Paris, for five years.[5][6] He lived ten minutes away from the middle school, in the small town of Ã‰ragny, Val-d'Oise.[7] He was married, and the father of a five-year-old boy.

The perpetrator, Abdoullakh Abouyedovich Anzorov, was an 18-year-old Russian immigrant of Chechen origin, born in Moscow.[22][23] Chechnya is a Muslim-majority federal subject of the Russian Federation.[24]

Anzorov had come to France with refugee status 12 years earlier as a six-year-old boy.[6][25] He lived in the Madeleine district of the Normandy town of Ã‰vreux, about 100 km (62 miles) from the murder scene, and had no apparent connection with the teacher or the school.[26][27]

The Anzorov family came from the village of Shalazhi in Chechnya. Abdoullakh's father Abuezid moved first to Moscow, and then to Paris. Anzorov's half-sister joined ISIS in Syria in 2014.[28][29] In March 2020, the family had received refugee status and 10-year residency cards in France.[5][3] Abdoullakh was not noticed by security agencies, though he had previously been in courts on minor misdemeanour charges.

A week and a half after Paty's freedom-of-speech class, on 16 October 2020, Anzorov waited outside Paty's school's gates, and asked a number of students to point out the teacher. He then followed Paty as he left the school.[31][32] Using a knife measuring at 30 centimetres (12 in), Anzorov killed Paty and beheaded him in a street near the school where Paty taught, at approximately 5 pm.[32][3][33] In addition to decapitating Paty, Anzorov inflicted a number of wounds to his head, abdomen, and upper limbs.[3][34] Witnesses told police they heard the killer shout "Allahu Akbar" during the attack.[

Minutes after the murder, the pseudonym @Tchetchene_270, identified by anti-terrorism prosecutor Jean-Francois Ricard as belonging to Abdullakh Anzorov, posted on Twitter an image of Paty's severed head. The photo was posted with the message: "In the name of Allah, the most gracious, the most merciful, ... to Macron, leader of the infidels, I executed one of your hellhounds who dared to belittle Muhammad, calm his fellow human beings before a harsh punishment is inflicted on you."[3][14][36][37]

Minutes later, Anzorov was confronted by police about 600 metres (660 yards) from the scene in Ã‰ragny, near Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, and the police tried to arrest him.[36][5][33] Anzorov shot at the police with an air rifle and tried to stab them with a knife.[38] The police in response shot him nine times, killing him.[3][11] On Anzorov's phone they found a text claiming responsibility, and a photograph of Paty's body.

The message of demands posted on Twitter with the photo of the history professor beheaded on Friday near a college in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine was published on an account belonging to the assailant shot by the police, Abdoullakh Abouyezidovich A., the national anti-terrorism prosecutor said on Saturday.

“The investigations were able to confirm that it was indeed an account belonging to the author of the facts”, declared Jean-François Ricard during a press conference at the Paris court.

The first use of the attacker’s phone, found near his body, “made it possible to find in the notepad the text of the claim, recorded at 12:17 p.m. as well as the photograph of the deceased victim, time-stamped at 4:57 p.m.” he added.

Abdoullakh A., “born on March 12, 2002 in Moscow, Russia” and who had refugee status, was shot dead by police as he “ran in their direction, firing five times with a handgun.” explained the prosecutor.

According to his account, three policemen retaliated, causing the assailant to fall. “While he was trying to get up and stab the police officers, he was neutralized by the police,” he said, indicating that his body had “nine hits” of bullet.

The police found on him “a dagger-type knife, an Airsoft-type handgun and five gas cartridges compatible with this weapon”.

In addition, “a second knife with a total length of 35 centimeters, bloodied, was discovered about thirty meters from the scene of the crime”, indicated Mr. Ricard.

“He has never been sentenced while being known for cases of degradation of public property and violence in meetings, while he was still a minor,” said the prosecutor.

“The half-sister of this man had joined the Islamic State organization in 2014 in Syria and she is, as such, the subject of a search warrant by an anti-terrorist investigating judge”, specified Mr. Ricard. .

Another man, “known to the intelligence services” and who notably participated in videos published by the student’s father, is also in police custody with his wife.

“There has never been any contact with the embassy,” the diplomat also said, telling the Ria Novosti agency that all of his information on the assailant came from the French authorities.

This Friday, Samuel Paty, 47, professor of history and geography at the college of Bois-d'Aulne was slaughtered in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine. The attacker is an 18-year-old man born in Moscow who allegedly yelled “allah akbar” before murdering his victim. He was shot dead by the police a few streets away from the scene of the crime, in Éragny-sur-Oise, a knife in his hand.

Through a video posted on Facebook, the father of a student of 4 th , Brahim C., called all the parents of classmates of her daughter to mobilize against a teacher of history and geography, which would have shown during its course "the photo of a naked man ”to designate him as the“ prophet of Muslims ”. He vows for a collective action against this professor whom he describes as a “thug who must go and educate himself”, a man visibly harmful to the students and whom he suspects, always according to his words, to act “this way” in school for years.

In another video, the daughter of Brahim Chnina. and the victim's pupil speaks in turn. She recounts her version of the incident that pitted her against her teacher. Before she could speak, the man holding the camera, Abdelhakim Sefrioui, an Islamist who has raged in France since the 1980s, known for his support for Hamas and a member of the Council of Imams of France, said that "The abject has taken place again. This week we have witnessed the response of a thug, who is a teacher, to this call from the President of the Republic which is a call to hate Muslims, to fight Muslims, to stigmatize Muslims ”. Asked by Sefrioui, Zaina's version is slightly different from her father's:

“We were doing a class on Islam and the teacher told Muslims to raise their hands (…) and that he will show an image that will perhaps shock, that if we wanted, we could go out of the course ”she says. The young girl adds that the image in question was that of "the prophet Muhammad without clothes and that the teacher had shown it like that". She expresses her shock and insists that "even the non-Muslim students" were in turn shocked at the sight of the image. "They do not respect us, for them we are not their equals while we are humans like them" she said indignantly.

Guilty, the filthy Brahim Chnina, of whom Hala Oukili has said all there is to know . With all due respect to those who prefer to defend the rights of criminals than those of victims, his sentence must serve as an example and a deterrent, it must terrify all those who would be tempted to do like him, and to throw the innocent as food for the horde of barbarians. Every day he spends in freedom is a spit on the decapitated head of the victim.

Guilty, the mosque of Pantin which relayed the video of Brahim Chnina.

He had been granted a 10-year residency in France as a refugee in March and was armed with a knife and an airsoft gun, which fires plastic pellets. Police said they opened fire after the attacker failed to respond to orders to put down his arms and acted in a threatening manner. Mr Ricard said the suspect had been seen at the school asking students about the teacher, and the headmaster had received several threatening phone calls.
