The scientific method (and of course we are 'following the science') requires free and open debate, allowing both sides of an argument - if there is one - allowing the truth to emerge. Censorship is the antithesis of this and reveals the fear that the approved narrative might be undermined, even if it is in fact false. We are in an era where free speech is being curtailed as never before, often without justification or explanation. We are reverting to mediaeval Venice, where to accuse was in itself sufficient grounds to silence. The efficacy of the experimental covid vaccine, or otherwise, must be regarded as one of the most important public health issues and debates ever, and many millions of lives may hang on it. Yet government and internet platforms seem determined to strangle any suggestion of its dangers. Never before has there been a greater need for free and open debate. Arresting and charging people for putting forward their reasoned opinions, smacks of a pernicious totalitarianism that endangers us all.

Blogger Deletes Covid Vaccine Post relating to Steve Kirsch's analysis of
post-vaccine deaths in New Zealand. Apparently he has been arrested for
expressing his opinion on the detailed government stats.

18.12.2023: I can't even get my plumbing to work though I agree tapping away on here involves some amazing technology that only a cardre of super- technocrats understand. Meanwhile humans keep killing one another with such efficiency and callousness it puts our Neanderthal ancestors to shame. Interesting to see Arthur C Clarke in 1964. That was when I was still an idealist. I shall never forget my dad's mocking laugh, when at the dinner table I naively stated that I thought humans were essentially good. In some ways they are and in some ways they arn't. There is an interface between spiritual man and practical man that influences behaviour and action for good or ill. As Jordan Peterson has pointed out, part of self awareness is the realisation of how bad humans can be, and no one is exempt from the generalisation. 'There is no evil that I am not capable of!' is a lesson everyone should learn. When I was in my first very junior job at the Central Health Clinic, there were two clerks in the next office. The air was thick with cigarette smoke. There's a paradox for you! The older of the two had been in the Second WW and was obsessed with the idea that machines would take over all human administrative and manufacturing tasks. I think his name was Mr Ashley, but at every opportunity he would press this one idea onto me - that the future of work was essentially redundant and people would be paid not to as there would be no work for them to do. Of course he made the mistake of not factoring in all the jobs that would be created making and servicing these new machines. 'AI' fulfills in part Clarke's prediction of intelligent computers, defined by 'when you cannot work out you are not talking to a human'. It has already started on the telephone and can prove very disconcerting. The voice says it will help with your enquiry but you quickly learn it can't because it is bereft of human understanding or empathy. Computers can be programmed to learn from humans, but what if humans are increasingly aping computers they interact with daily? Modern western man has never been so depressed or isolated it would seem.
