 Hamas. Gaza. Israel.

The horrors of war created by greed, fear and hatred.

Why is it one incident of slaughter is condemned as brutal terrorism whilst another is excused because it is just a natural consequence of war?  Both need to be condemned and resisted equally, or do we just evaluate their evil by the number of bodies?

The Israelis MUST have known of the incursion from AT LEAST six thirty. It is inconceivable that they were not aware of the plan well in advance. The video above shows a time of 9.30. Are you telling me in an area with a full Division of IDF, there was no warning or evacuation and no attempt to provide armed opposition for at least three hours? This was blatantly an Israeli PR ruse (they are experts at it) to excuse and legitimise an offensive against Gaza. If they push the population south into an ever smaller enclave and ghetto - and how darkly ironic are those terms - do you think they will ever give it back? Essentially this is just another land grab and 'Nakba'.

Is this the TRUE explanation of what is happening in Israel/Palestine?

I am wondering if the Re-im Dance Massacre was exactly as described and if so who and how many were killed? The claimed number of dead (AP) is 'at least 260'. That's at least 260 families affected. We are yet to see who they are. The dash cam footage below is time-stamped 9.24. That's three clear hours after Israel was aware of an armed attack/incursion. Interestingly the Re-im site is said to be 3.3 miles from the border yet no one was alarmed or warned in an area where people were familiar with the risk and where Israel monitors every move packed with the IDF? This beggars belief and suggests Israeli Intelligence was fully aware of the Hamas attack and actually allowed it to happen for its propaganda value. There is also the possibility that the attack was either staged or exaggerated. We are familiar with images of running people. Why all the abandoned and burned out cars off road? There are many puzzling and unanswered aspects to this incident. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTVDymZGcIc

To keep in with the Americans (as always) Sunak says he stands with Israel. Why doesn't he also stand with the part of the Balfour Declaration that stipulated, "It being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-jewish communities in Palestine." How can he condemn the murder of civilians by Hamas and not condemn the self same thing by Israel. If Hamas is a 'terrorist organisation', Israel is even more so because it has done far more killing, both at home and abroad. I despise these double standards adopted by the West.

Where have we seen images of young attractive people running from gunmen like this before?

Then there is this interview on Fox (see above image) of what appears to be an American, referred to as 'Nick Zhiharev', who it is claimed survived the attack. See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQ1-ZEL5d78 He certainly appears to have quickly recovered from the trauma and appears blaze about the three funerals he has 'already attended'.  His facial expression is relaxed and smiling. He appears to show little or no (post traumatic) stress or concern. Indeed the interviewer appears more worried than he does!  Quickly into the the interview he drops the phrase "and this is only the beginning", used by politicians. That seems a tad scripted to me. Then we have the familiar suggestion that the people there thought that "the rockets were fire fireworks".  It has appeared repeatedly in descriptions of mass killing events, maybe because it is a genuine reaction but in this case it appears to be a big stretch. This is mainly because this was not a quiet residential location but in a continual war zone where the sound of rocket fire and bomb blasts were almost an every day occurrence and they were only 3.3 miles from the border. Further we are told the thousands of rockets went off three hours before the actual attack, so people must have realised this was not a normal average day. Nick says he was "enjoying the sun rise and experiencing the peace and love of the dance floor".  At about 6.30 am, he looked up in the sky and saw what he first thought were fireworks" but despite the disco noise he says to his friend, "I think we are getting shot at, I think we are being bombed." These of course are two quite distinct and separate things. The rockets (bombs) were as he said fired at at 6.30 but the shooting (apparently) did not come until approximately three hours later. If he thought he was being bombed at 6.30 did the party goers not leave the scence then or shortly after? Why did they remain in situ and dangers for hours after? He says "We were literally just chilling under heavy rocket fire for about 30 minutes which is when I heard a different sound - the sound of gunfire". If accurate, this would suggest the Hamas attack started soon after 7 am, not as the previous video suggests 9.25 am.  This prompts him to say to his friend "it was time to leave".

Some of the first targets of the Hamas terrorist attacks were young people at a music festival near the border with Gaza. Hundreds of attendees were massacred.

They get in their car and drive towards the exit.  He sees huge traffic jams and the roads were blocked off. He gets about 100 yards and everything is very slow. Now he suggests "people  are in panic". It is then he hears shot riccoshading off of cars and they decide to get out and start running down that road for 20 or 30 minutes.  Fast running by a man for 30 minutes equates on average to about 3.5 miles. This would be a conservative figure for someone in panic mode. He claims "hundreds of thousands were running from all directions".  Where had all these people come from or is he exaggerating? He gets to a hill but can't really see much because of the stress, yet he is able to conclude "this is war". Of course this is before war was actually declared. He gathers his friends and urges them to stay calm. "There is no time to fear and no time to panic. Our objective is to keep moving and survive this." He has a map and for about three hours they keep walking east through orchards and farms until they got to a barn where they found shelter and water. At this location - " this when I looked up on line and realised this was no joke and it was actually happening and we were between three towns actually conquered by Hamas" Here he tried to call police and any form of authority but "no answer at all". Eventually got hold of somebody who told them to stay put. They wait there a couple of hours. They talk to family but no one can comprehend. It hasn't happened for fifty years you know? The worst thing you can imagine - yea" Local people drove towards the scene and rescued them. First time he saw any sign of our military - two 18 year olds, more afraid than me. From there he got a bus to a bigger city where he was safe.  What we experienced is nothing compared to what some had to  - a nightmare. Strangely he says he knows people in Gaza but doesn't know what has happened to them or whether they are still alive"  (Is he referring to Israelis or Palestinians here, I'm not sure?) He adds he doesn't want to brag or anything but he is happy with the way he handled the situation. He repeats he has gone to three funerals already and "its like a broken heart." He is in in his truck and delivering material to his troops at five destinations. Anything he can do to lift his friends up and stay united is his therapy. His message to the the troops, some of which are his friends, "Israel is with you, the world is with you. We stand strong and united and must defeat and erase this people from the planet. They cannot exist any more. To the American and Canadian people watching he says: "These are difficult times but we as a global human society must stand strong together to defeat this kind of evil and we cannot stay silent and let this sort of evil exist in this world. It is unbelievable and unprecidented and has to stop and must be terminated."   Nick Zhiharev appears genuine. He is very articulate. There is a question as to how he was chosen or located and what his nationality (American/Canadian Jewish?)  and background are. The interview was conducted from his truck yet is uninterupted or distorted from Israel to the United States which raises a few questions.

This appears to be him:

I have intentionally not watched the television news, the BBC in particular. Nor have I read newspaper articles on the subject of the most recent alleged Hamas attack on a music festival in southern Israel/Palestine. I am now doing a catch-up using Internet news sources.

However the latest BBC report suggests that Israel is now demanding the complete population of northern Gaza of over a million people, must move south within twenty-four hours!  This is nothing short of American and Western supported GENOCIDE built on a largely deceptive and fabricated story of "surprise attack" by Hamas. This is clearly another Israeli inspired plan to facilitate the extinction of the Palestinian population in Gaza. Yet again we see America's Blinken supporting Nazi tactics and demonic policy. It is of course a re-run of Hitler's approach to Jews in the Second World War when he painted desperate Jews as 'terrorists' and flattened the Warsaw ghetto.  Jews are now doing the same to the Gaza Ghetto.

As we continue our relatively peaceful, undisturbed lives, we cannot but be aware of the terrible and tragic circumstances others are in, caused by weapons and their their use against combatants and civilian populations. These events with their associated deaths and suffering invariably have historical and political context.

Their reportage , description and implication in the media is seldom without bias, even when purporting to be otherwise. Worse it can be positively misleading and the subject to intentional distortion. The event itself may even be rigged involving actors to provide the excuse for the implimentation of pre-planned military action.

The descriptions of the Hamas attack in southern Israel/Palestine may all be accurate but the possibility also exists that they may be contrived, exaggerated or misrepresented. Given two decades of 'terrorist events' in the West, often implicating Israeli intelligence or secret services, often with devastating consequences for countries in the Middle East, we would do well to view reports eminating from Israeli and Western media and government sources with a very objective, critical and sceptical eye.

As usual the message conveyed by the media is that this was a dastardly unprovoked attack on innocent Jewish young people by unprincipled and brutal Palestinian savages.  Yet again it contains all the necessary elements to get the 'right' sort of coverage and reaction. We have seen the scenario before at the Bataclan and Manchester auditorium, both with very suspicious elements.

On closer examination the Hamas attack may replicate them. Of course by then the event, reliable or not, will have had its intended psychological effect and facilitated all the actions of the Israeli state, particularly against the innocent people of Gaza.

For example only yesterday Aljazira reported the following but this received little in way of reporting or condemnation from the same people who poured venom on Hamas.  We have observed this blatant imbalance in how Israeli atrocities are reported for decades. Unfortunately people are taken in by it.
