Hamas. Gaza. Israel.
The horrors of war created by greed, fear and hatred.
Why is it one incident of slaughter is condemned as brutal terrorism whilst another is excused because it is just a natural consequence of war? Both need to be condemned and resisted equally, or do we just evaluate their evil by the number of bodies?
The Israelis MUST have known of the incursion from AT LEAST six thirty. It is inconceivable that they were not aware of the plan well in advance. The video above shows a time of 9.30. Are you telling me in an area with a full Division of IDF, there was no warning or evacuation and no attempt to provide armed opposition for at least three hours? This was blatantly an Israeli PR ruse (they are experts at it) to excuse and legitimise an offensive against Gaza. If they push the population south into an ever smaller enclave and ghetto - and how darkly ironic are those terms - do you think they will ever give it back? Essentially this is just another land grab and 'Nakba'.
Is this the TRUE explanation of what is happening in Israel/Palestine?

I am wondering if the Re-im Dance Massacre was exactly as described and if so who and how many were killed? The claimed number of dead (AP) is 'at least 260'. That's at least 260 families affected. We are yet to see who they are. The dash cam footage below is time-stamped 9.24. That's three clear hours after Israel was aware of an armed attack/incursion. Interestingly the Re-im site is said to be 3.3 miles from the border yet no one was alarmed or warned in an area where people were familiar with the risk and where Israel monitors every move packed with the IDF? This beggars belief and suggests Israeli Intelligence was fully aware of the Hamas attack and actually allowed it to happen for its propaganda value. There is also the possibility that the attack was either staged or exaggerated. We are familiar with images of running people. Why all the abandoned and burned out cars off road? There are many puzzling and unanswered aspects to this incident. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTVDymZGcIc
To keep in with the Americans (as always) Sunak says he stands with Israel. Why doesn't he also stand with the part of the Balfour Declaration that stipulated, "It being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-jewish communities in Palestine." How can he condemn the murder of civilians by Hamas and not condemn the self same thing by Israel. If Hamas is a 'terrorist organisation', Israel is even more so because it has done far more killing, both at home and abroad. I despise these double standards adopted by the West.
Where have we seen images of young attractive people running from gunmen like this before?

I have intentionally not watched the television news, the BBC in particular. Nor have I read newspaper articles on the subject of the most recent alleged Hamas attack on a music festival in southern Israel/Palestine. I am now doing a catch-up using Internet news sources.
However the latest BBC report suggests that Israel is now demanding the complete population of northern Gaza of over a million people, must move south within twenty-four hours! This is nothing short of American and Western supported GENOCIDE built on a largely deceptive and fabricated story of "surprise attack" by Hamas. This is clearly another Israeli inspired plan to facilitate the extinction of the Palestinian population in Gaza. Yet again we see America's Blinken supporting Nazi tactics and demonic policy. It is of course a re-run of Hitler's approach to Jews in the Second World War when he painted desperate Jews as 'terrorists' and flattened the Warsaw ghetto. Jews are now doing the same to the Gaza Ghetto.
As we continue our relatively peaceful, undisturbed lives, we cannot but be aware of the terrible and tragic circumstances others are in, caused by weapons and their their use against combatants and civilian populations. These events with their associated deaths and suffering invariably have historical and political context.
Their reportage , description and implication in the media is seldom without bias, even when purporting to be otherwise. Worse it can be positively misleading and the subject to intentional distortion. The event itself may even be rigged involving actors to provide the excuse for the implimentation of pre-planned military action.
The descriptions of the Hamas attack in southern Israel/Palestine may all be accurate but the possibility also exists that they may be contrived, exaggerated or misrepresented. Given two decades of 'terrorist events' in the West, often implicating Israeli intelligence or secret services, often with devastating consequences for countries in the Middle East, we would do well to view reports eminating from Israeli and Western media and government sources with a very objective, critical and sceptical eye.
As usual the message conveyed by the media is that this was a dastardly unprovoked attack on innocent Jewish young people by unprincipled and brutal Palestinian savages. Yet again it contains all the necessary elements to get the 'right' sort of coverage and reaction. We have seen the scenario before at the Bataclan and Manchester auditorium, both with very suspicious elements.
On closer examination the Hamas attack may replicate them. Of course by then the event, reliable or not, will have had its intended psychological effect and facilitated all the actions of the Israeli state, particularly against the innocent people of Gaza.
For example only yesterday Aljazira reported the following but this received little in way of reporting or condemnation from the same people who poured venom on Hamas. We have observed this blatant imbalance in how Israeli atrocities are reported for decades. Unfortunately people are taken in by it.
Israel-Hamas war live: 45 killed in Israel strike on Gaza apartment block
https://www.aljazeera.com/news/liveblog/2023/10/11/israel-hamas-war-live-gaza-faces-growing-humanitarian-catastrophe
- The Israeli military bombarded a residential building in the densely populated Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, killing at least 45 people and injuring dozens more, Gaza’s interior ministry says.
- Israel says it has dropped 6,000 6000 bombs in six days of bombardment.
- Israel’s energy minister says no electricity, fuel or humanitarian aid will be allowed into Gaza until Hamas releases all captives taken in an unprecedented attack.
- At least 1,537 Palestinians – including 500 children and 276 women – have been killed and 6,612 wounded in Israeli air strikes on Gaza. The number of people killed in Israel has reached 1,300.
Israel soldier death toll hits 247
Israel’s military says 247 soldiers have been killed since the start of the war last weekend – an increase from 222 earlier in the day.
Many of the troops were caught by surprise after the Hamas incursion last Saturday on a Jewish holiday. Israel has one of the world’s most powerful militaries, bolstered by more than $3.8bn of military aid a year from the US.
Israel has 169,500 active military personnel in the army, navy and paramilitary. A further 465,000 constitute its reserve forces, while 8,000 form part of its paramilitary.
About 300,000 Israeli soldiers are now stationed near the Gaza Strip.
Hamas accuses Israel of carrying out ‘genocide’ in Gaza
Hamas has accused Israel of carrying out genocide in Gaza, saying that Western countries offering military aid to Israel are participating in the killing of Palestinians instead of seeking a resolution to the conflict and occupation.
“There is no safe area for the people in Gaza to seek refuge or shelter,” senior Hamas official Ghazi Hamad said in a video statement, speaking in English.
“Every area and every building is under possible attack. Everyone is targeted and vulnerable to Israel’s killing, including women, children, the elderly and even disabled people.”
Hamad also decried the “illegal and unethical” siege by Israel on Gaza that is preventing fuel and humanitarian supplies from entering the territory.
“The Israeli leaders are giving clear instructions to their army to carry out a genocide [against] more than two million citizens in the Gaza Strip. We are facing unprecedented crimes in modern history,” he said.
Human Rights Watch (HRW) has said that it confirmed the use of white phosphorus by Israel in Gaza and Lebanon.
The rights group said it verified videos taken earlier this week “showing multiple airbursts of artillery-fired white phosphorus over the Gaza City port and two rural locations along the Israel-Lebanon border”.
HRW said the weapon “has a significant incendiary effect that can severely burn people and set structures, fields and other civilian objects in the vicinity on fire”.
It added that the use of white phosphorus in densely populated places like Gaza “magnifies the risk to civilians and violates the international humanitarian law prohibition on putting civilians at unnecessary risk”.
The question we must ask ourselves is whether the Hamas attack is being used by Israel as a pretext to do what it had already intended - an all out attack on Gaza - effectively supported by America and the West. If so the claim that this is a continuation of genocide and a war crime is not hyperbole. Worse still, does it provide the spark and justification for more widespread military action focused on particularly Syria and Iran. (Airports in Syria have already been bombed which follows the mass killing at a military passing out parade last week hardly reported in the West) If so ramifications are hard to compute. Numerous analysts and officials have described the initial assault as "Israel's 9/11 moment". That alone has ominous overtones given its repercussions and fraud.
Wikipedia has this: "The attack took place during the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah on Shabbat,[70] and a day after the 50th anniversary of the start of the Yom Kippur War, which also began with a surprise attack.[71] In September, two to three weeks of violence occurred at the Gaza–Israel barrier. On 29 September, Qatar, the UN, and Egypt mediated an agreement between Israel and Hamas officials in the Gaza Strip to reopen closed crossing points and de-escelate tensions."
As usual nothing with timing is accidental but is it Hamas timing or Israeli timing, that is the question?
One thing that puzzles me is the suggestion that Israel was 'taken by surprise' either either in the Yom Kippur War or in this Hamas attack on the 7th October. It is a longstanding given that nothing happens in Gaza or Hamas without Mossad and Army Intelligence knowing about it in advance. Why then were they allegedly taken by surprise or is this just a lie to gild the lily? Nor is it beyond the realms of possibility that Israel was actually behind the attack to facilitate its aggressive plans.
It is reported that at 6.30 am on Saturday 10th October, Hamas launched 5000 rockets at Israeli territory and settlements over twenty minutes. (The Israeli figure was 3000 but no one has explained the discrepancy) A further 150 were launched in the evening it was claimed. The death toll that resulted from this barrage of rockets?
Even Israel claimed no more than five deaths even if this figure is reliable. What sort of weapons are they in reality? Compare and contrast with the ONE Israeli bomb mentioned above killing forty five and the over eight thousand killed or wounded so far in Gaza to date. This is not camparing like with like by any measure, and the Israelis are masters of propaganda and exaggeration to facilitate their own narrative. The world of course buys it.
Incursions into Israel
Simultaneously, around 1,000[77] Palestinian militants infiltrated Israel from Gaza using trucks, pickup trucks, motorcycles, bulldozers, speedboats and paragliders.[71][33][75] They took over the checkpoint at the Kerem Shalom crossing, and created openings in the border fence in five other places, including by the Erez crossing.[83] Images and videos appeared to show heavily armed and masked militants dressed in black fatigue riding pickup trucks[78][82] and opening fire in Sderot, killing dozens of Israeli civilians and soldiers. Other videos appeared to show Israelis taken prisoner and a burning Israeli tank,[84][38] as well as militants driving Israeli military vehicles.[78]
On the same morning, a massacre unfolded at an outdoor music festival near Re'im, resulting in at least 260 dead, with many still missing. Witnesses recounted militants on motorcycles opening fire on fleeing participants, who were already dispersing due to rocket fire that had wounded some attendees; some were also taken hostage.[70][85] Militants killed civilians at Nir Oz,[82] Be'eri, and Netiv HaAsara, where they took hostages[86] and set fire to homes,[79] as well as in kibbutzim around the Gaza Strip.[79] 200 civilians were killed in the Kfar Aza massacre, 108 in the Be'eri massacre, and 15 people in the Netiv HaAsara massacre,[87][88] in what has been described as the "worst single-day massacre of Jews since the Holocaust".[89][90][91][92] Hostages were also reported to have been taken in Ofakim, while homes in Sderot were set on fire.[93] Hamas said it took prisoners to force Israel to release its Palestinian prisoners, claiming it had taken enough prisoners to secure the release of all the imprisoned Palestinians (including women and children).[94]
Hamas militants carried out an amphibious landing in Zikim.[78][95] Palestinian sources claim that the local Israeli army base was stormed.[96] The IDF said it had killed two attackers on the beach and destroyed four vessels, including two rubber boats. A military base outside Nahal Oz was also taken by the militants, leaving at least two Israeli soldiers dead and at least six others captured.[97]
Fighting was reported at Re'im military base, headquarters of the Gaza Division.[98] It was later reported that Hamas took control of the base and had taken several Israeli soldiers captive[98] before the IDF regained control later in the day.[99][100] The police station of Sderot was reported to have come under Hamas control, with militants killing 30 Israelis, including policemen and civilians.[80][101]
Several Palestinian groups voiced their support for the operation. The National Resistance Brigades, the armed wing of the secular-socialist Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) confirmed their participation in the operation through their military spokesman Abu Khaled,[102] saying it had lost three fighters in combat with the IDF.[103] The PFLP, another Palestinian socialist militant group, and the Lions' Den group voiced their support for the operation and declared maximum alertness and general mobilization amongst their troops, and the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades (armed wing of the PFLP) published videos of it storming Israeli watchtowers.[104][105]
An Israeli military spokesman stated that the militants from Gaza had entered Israel through at least seven locations[71] and invaded four small rural Israeli communities, the border city of Sderot, and two military bases from both land and sea.[75] Israeli media reported that seven communities came under Hamas control, including Nahal Oz, Kfar Aza, Magen, Be'eri, and Sufa.[106] The Erez Crossing was reported to have come under Hamas control, enabling the militants to enter Israel from Gaza.[77] Israeli Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai said that there were 21 active high-confrontation locations in southern Israel.[107]
This is Wikipedia description of what happened. If it is to be believed, I am amazed Israeli intelligence was taken by surprise by such a complicated exercise that must have had organisation, communication, armaments, plans all ear-wigged by Israel. Is it also not surprising that there is an absence of recriminations of politicians and the security apparatus? (Apparently I now see some Israelis are livid that these attacks were allowed to happen) We are reminded there was not one person sacked or demoted for the 9/11 outrage which says a lot about cause and accountability doesn't it. Oh yes this was 'Israel's 9/11' another calculated trick to get Americans onside.
How is it possible it could have been a 'surprise attack' after three to six thousand rockets were fired into the air? Israel is a military state with a permanently located whole Division located on the Gaza border. How was it possible relatively amateurist 'terrorists' were able to break through the border fence and infiltrate Israel territory without opposition? "Israel's 9/11 and Pearl Harbour in one". Oh yes we remember how both were predicted and amazingly all defences inactivated or stood down to facilitate the predictable public reaction and support the military plan.
For over seventy years, the fundamental problem and inequity of the creation of Israel and how it has treated the Palestinians has been ignored by the world. Again and again Jews demonstrate their arrogant, unfair and cruel attitude and policy. They not only refer to Palestinians as 'animals' but literally treat them as such. When you treat people like animals they are likely to act like it.
Make no mistake, Israel governed by extreme right wingers want total control of what it sees as its territory and would like to see the annihilation of the Palestinian and non-Jewish population. Israel wants the world to think this as a surprise attack with it as the innocent and honourable victim. How false and deceptive could that be. This Israel declared 'war' is just a continuation and extension of inhuman policy to Gaza.
