In 2000, Richard Andrew Grove was working for Silverstream Software, a software development company specializing in enterprise architecture software. By October of that year he had landed the firm their largest client in the company's history: Marsh & McLennan. After finding evidence that Silverstream was overbilling Marsh by nearly $7 million and being told to keep quiet by both his own management and those he confided to at Marsh, he was fired. After his termination, he was invited to present his evidence at a staff meeting in Marsh's offices where Marsh employees who were suspicious of such transactions themselves were gathered. That meeting was on the 98th floor of the World Trade Center. It was the 11th of September, 2001. And everyone who was in attendance at the meeting died there that day. Grove, who had been late for the meeting, survived. His remarkable story, as well as subsequent events, led him to start piecing together how 9/11 helped financial institutions and insurance companies cover up billions of dollars in fraud by eliminating those who were asking questions about it.

Synopsis of PART 1

Richard Grove retained evidence, including documents, of AIG’s involvement in 911 and the events leading up to the 2008 Wall Street bailout. AIG was controlled by Maurice “Hank” Greenberg. (Much of the information used in the film, Who Killed John O’Neil, came from the information Richard Grove collected.)

Richard Grove background story is pertinent. He was working in an enterprise software company & was involved in sales with clients such as AIG, Marsh, McClennan, and Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch & Deutsche Bank. Prior to undertaking projects, software is built to facilitate the flow of data & information and his company would bid on how much their clients pay for this software. This software, which Grove was involved with, was eventually used to defraud their clients of 100’s of billions of dollars—which Grove did not understand at the time. He discovered some of these irregularities because his paycheck depended upon a correct accounting of these transactions to determine his commission. After raising this issue with those above him in his company, he was fired the next day by the VP of Sales in June of 2001. In August of 2001 his former employer brought him back into the organization with the offer of health insurance which he needed at the time. A provision in his contract prevented him from discussing his earlier discoveries.

He became suspicious of the motivations behind his rehire and inquired about it. In a return phone call he was advised to take all of his his documents & evidence of illegal activities to the 96th floor of the World Trade Center (WTC) on the morning of 911. The 96th floor was exactly where the first plane struck a tower. Grove was late to work and witnessed the event from his car, with the convertible top down, stuck in traffic.

After 911, Grove learned about Greenberg & AIG’s close relationship to the CIA, Mossad, the Council on Foreign Relations, the Federal Reserve & his involvement with money laundering. He also made the connection between insider trading connected to 911 that traced back to Deutsche Bank & the CIA. Greenberg was the President of Kroll associates, a private intelligence agency for Wall Street which handled security at the WTC.

Synopsis of PART 2

Grove examined Kroll & the insurance business and discovered that the industry provided great opportunities for money laundering due to the soft nature of the product being sold. He notes the involvement of L Paul Bremer in all of this. Bremer later becomes the Governor of Iraq following the invasion of that country.

After 911, Elliot Spitzer began to examine these financial irregularities too but he is plagued by conflicts of interest. Spitzer pens an article wondering why Marsh & McClennan along with AIG are reluctant to cooperate with the investigation of the theft of 100’s of billions of dollars and the following day he becomes embroiled in a prostitution scandal that forces him to resign.*

Synopsis of PART 3

Elliot Spitzer’s investigation is stymied by the appearance of Michael Cherkasky who is put in place by AIG & Marsh. Cherkasky was not only Spitzer’s mentor but a key 911 suspect as managing director of Kroll. Michael Cherkasky, Rudy Giuliani, Elliot Spitzer & Patrick Fitzgerald all worked together in the office of New York District Attorney Robert Morgenthau who had been in place since the days of the French Connection. These individuals were fully aware of the government’s merger with the mob and Wall Street’s role in laundering the proceeds. The software Grove sold was billed as an antidote to drug money laundering but actually had a back door which facilitated these transactions through companies which had no knowledge of the crime. The entire Spitzer investigation became a sham. 

When Grove went to court in an effort to expose these money laundering schemes, he discovered he is up against a law firm dedicated to covering up these operations. They were the same law firm defending the airlines against the victims families seeking their day in court post 911. According to Grove, if one examines the history of the invocation of the term “National Security” in court cases, 90% of the time it is used to camouflage drug trafficking. All of this information and more is supported by FCC documents which provide an evidence trail showing who profited from 911 & the “War on Terror.”

Synopsis of PART 4

Kroll, which is similar to Blackwater, trained the Saudis, trained the Iraqis, and handled Enron after it crashed. Kroll is the “go to” private intelligence agency which is completely off the books because it is not part of the US government. [After the crash of AIG, Kroll went though a number of takeovers eventually becoming acquired by LDiscovery, a subsidiary of the Carlyle Group, owned & controlled by David Rubinstein. This continues the process, which Bollyn has documented, of companies connected to 911 being acquired by other companies connected to 911–& the War on Terror.]

Black 911—Putting The Pieces Together 

In Mark Gaffney’s 2011 three part essay “Black 9/11,” which were expanded into a book of the same title published the following year, he begins by listing a few of the anomalies surrounding 911 which should have captured our attention right away. He cites the missing trillions from the Pentagon Defense Secretary Rumsfeld announced on 9/10 and also points out that, “Any remaining hope that the US military might still get its budgetary house in order were dashed at 9:38 am the next morning, when the west wing of the Pentagon exploded in flames and smoke... Incredibly, the exact point of impact was the DoD’s accounting offices on the first floor.” The anomalous flight paths were also noted along with the challenging maneuvers combined with the lack of logic from an “Islamic” terrorist’s point of view.

That morning, there were other striking anomalies. The crash of AA 11 into the North Tower at 8:46 am should also have raised red flags, because the point of impact at the 95th and 96th floors was too remarkable to be happenstance. Both floors were occupied by Marsh & McLennan, one of the world’s largest insurance brokerages, with family ties to the private intelligence firm, Kroll Associates, which held the security contract at the World Trade Center. Indeed, the network of corporate ties is so entangled that were I to trace all of the links, they would easily fill a book. Here, I will sketch out only the most salient connections.

The CEO of Marsh & McLennan on 9/11 was Jeffry Greenberg, son of Maurice “Hank” Greenberg, owner of AIG, the world’s largest insurance conglomerate (or second largest, depending on the source). Greenberg’s other son, Evan, was CEO of Ace Limited, another large insurance company. Maurice Greenberg had been a director of the New York Federal Reserve Bank for many years, and in 1994-95 served as its chairman. Greenberg was also vice-chairman of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), which in 1996 published his report, “Making Intelligence Smarter: The future of U.S. Intelligence”; as a result of which, Senator Arlen Specter floated Greenberg’s name as a candidate for the directorship of the CIA. Although George Tenet eventually got the job, the mere fact that Greenberg was in the running shows the extent of his influence. In 1993, Greenberg’s huge insurance conglomerate AIG reportedly bankrolled the Wall Street spy firm, Kroll Associates, saving it from bankruptcy. Thereafter, Kroll became an AIG subsidiary. After the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, Kroll acquired the contract from the Port Authority of New York to upgrade security at the World Trade Center, in the process beating out two other firms. Kroll continued with the WTC security contract through the period leading up to the September 11 attacks. One of Kroll’s directors, Jerome Hauer, also managed New York mayor Rudolph Giuliani’s Office of Emergency Management, which was located on the 23rd floor of WTC 7.". 

Notice this means Kroll had unfettered access to all three of the buildings destroyed on 9/11. This startling coincidence should have been reason enough for the 9/11 Commission to investigate Kroll’s shady background as well as its relations with AIG, Ace, and Marsh & McClennan.

Black 9/11: A Walk on the Dark Side (part 3)

For years, AIG generated profits at a rate that blew away the competition. Over a ten-year period, from 1988-1998, AIG’s earnings compounded at an average rate of 14%, an impressive figure in a business that tends to be cyclical. While the rest of the insurance industry suffered periodic ups and downs...

How did AIG beat the trends? Writing in 1998, David Schiff [publisher of an insurance industry newsletter] acknowledged that “No one quite knows the answer.”

Whereas other large insurance firms like State Farm were fairly simple to understand, AIG, by comparison, was “fabulously complex,” virtually impenetrable from the outside. The reason: AIG had hundreds of affiliates in 130 countries and did most of its business offshore, in other words, beyond the scrutiny of US regulators. The Wall Street Journal once referred to AIG as a “black box.” (The same op-ed also mentioned Enron.) This helps to explain why Greenberg and AIG remained untouchable for so long.

However, in the spring of 2005 when the dust finally settled, it was clear that AIG also lost money in the insurance business but obscured the fact through a myriad of creative accounting schemes that transformed AIG’s underwriting (business) losses to investment (capital) losses, a slick way to enhance AIG’s corporate balance sheets.

After 9/11, it gradually became clear that not even AIG insiders were privy to the decisions being made at the top. In 2002, an internal audit committee reported that AIG’s financial accounting was suspect.

Soon, AIG and Marsh & McLennan were in the cross-hairs of a state probe launched by New York attorney general Elliot Spitzer. In October 2004 Spitzer sued Marsh for bid-rigging and numerous other fraudulent accounting practices. 

Two AIG executives pled guilty to criminal charges.

It is notable that Marsh & McLennan purchased Kroll from AIG for $1.9 billion in July 2004, several months before Spitzer’s lawsuit. At the time, Kroll’s CEO was Michael Cherkasky who, years earlier, had been Spitzer’s boss at the Manhattan District Attorney’s office. Cherkasky joined Kroll in 1994, became CEO in 2001, and replaced Jeffrey Greenberg as CEO when the younger Greenberg was forced out in late 2004. Thus, it was Cherkasky who negotiated the final settlement with Spitzer.

Greenberg had always viewed regulators with disdain, and he had generally succeeded in intimidating them, one way or another. In 1996, for instance, when the state of Delaware launched an investigation of AIG’s bizarre relationship with a Barbados-based reinsurance company named Coral Re, instead of cooperating Greenberg rang up the Delaware insurance commissioner and gave her a tongue-lashing over the telephone. Greenberg also sent Kroll detectives to harass the state regulators. The get-tough strategy produced the intended result. The case of Coral Re is important because of possible links to the drug trade and to Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton...

Greenberg also resorted to Kroll after AIG’s general counsel Michael Joye resigned in 1992 to protest fraudulent accounting practices. Joye kept the facts secret for many years. In the early 1990s, Joye was shocked to learn that AIG was cheating several states, including New York, out of tens of millions in workers’ compensation funds; and it was happening with the full knowledge and consent of CEO Greenberg. Joye sent Greenberg a bluntly worded memo informing him that AIG’s “intentional violations” could lead to “criminal fraud and racketeering charges,” in addition to exposing the company to astronomical civil penalties. Joye determined that for AIG to become legal the company “would have to hire about 40 new people to do filings properly. It would also have to charge clients more and pay ‘much higher’ assessment frees.” But according to the New York Times, Greenberg was not interested. When the issue came up in a meeting, Greenberg famously asked “Are we legal?” An employee responded: “If we were legal we wouldn’t be in business.” Hearing this, “M.R.G. [Greenberg] began laughing and that was the end of it. After Joye tended his resignation, Greenberg sent Kroll a copy of Joye’s personnel file. It is not known what Kroll detectives did with it...

In subsequent months, the court proceedings played out in the press. The details gradually emerged about Greenberg’s largest deception: a $500 million deal “in which various AIG insiders staged an elaborate artificial transaction with the Gen Re Corporation,” a major reinsurer owned by Warren Buffet. Buffet’s subsidiary provided records to Spitzer documenting everything. The records showed that AIG’s purpose had been to generate a large tax write-off, in order to make the company look more prosperous than it was. The documents also proved Greenberg’s personal involvement.

In 2006, AIG reached a $1.6 billion settlement with state and federal authorities: the largest ever paid by any financial services company, in US history. In February 2008, four former executives of Gen Re and one from AIG were convicted of conspiracy, securities fraud, mail fraud, and making false statements to the SEC.

It is important to remember that Maurice Greenberg is not some run-of-the-mill hoodlum. As noted, he served as chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, is a director of the New York Stock Exchange, is the vice-chairman of the Council on Foreign Relations, and is a member of the Trilateral Commission. He also served as vice-chairman of the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and is the Director of the Institute for International Economics, is the Director of the US-China Business Council, the vice-chairman of the US-ASEAN Business Council, the Director of Project Hope, founding chairman of the US-Philippine Business Committee, and, until his forced retirement, was a Trustee of the Asia Society. While this is not a comprehensive list of Greenberg’s credits, it should suffice to lend new meaning to the old adage that scum rises to the top.

The question, therefore, is: how did Maurice Greenberg manage for so long to produce a silk purse from a sow’s ear? What is clear is that AIG’s offshore dealings were key to the company’s profitability, even during the downturns that affected the rest of the industry but to which AIG seemed largely immune. 

In August 2001, just weeks before 9/11, Former LAPD narcotics detective Michael Ruppert posted an article exploring possible AIG involvement in the drug trade. Ruppert was astounded to learn that Coral Talavera Baca, the wife (or girlfriend, it is not clear which) of Medellin drug lord Carlos Lehder was, at the time, employed at AIG’s San Francisco office, ostensibly as AIG’s office manager, a position for which Talavera had neither the requisite training nor the credentials. What was she doing there?

Amazingly, as it turns out, Coral Talavera Baca was the very same woman who in 1995 supplied investigative reporter Gary Webb with the initial lead that resulted in his groundbreaking series of articles in the San Jose Mercury News about CIA links to Latin American drug traffickers. Talavera’s husband, Carlos Lehder, was one of the central figures in the notorious Medellin drug cartel...

Lehder was extradited to the US, where he entered a witness protection program. But why would the US government negotiate with a man who had been public enemy number one? Lehder and his cohorts in Medellin are believed to have ordered the assassination of numerous Columbian officials, newspaper editors, journalists, informants, as well as 600 policemen...

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, it was none other than Vice President George H.W. Bush who negotiated the deal with Lehder.

The Kroll Connection (Excerpts from The Architecture of Terror)

It is interesting to note that Jeremy M. Kroll, the Managing Director of Marsh Kroll, is also on the "advisory board" of Elad Yoran's Security Growth Partners. This is a crucial connection in the Zionist network behind 9/11; this is where we hit the mainline. Kroll, the son of Jules B. Kroll, has been an executive at Marsh Kroll, a division of Marsh & McLennan Co. (MMC), since 1996. Jeremy Kroll's connection with Elad and Amit Yoran through SGP reveals a key link between the American Zionist network and Israeli military intelligence.

MMC is headed by Jeffrey Greenberg, the son of Maurice Raymond Greenberg (a.k.a. "Hank"). Maurice Greenberg, the former CEO of A.I.G., has been a business partner with Jules B. Kroll since 1993 when he reportedly bought twenty-three percent of Kroll Inc. for $15 million. In 2004, MMC acquired the rest of Kroll for the hugely inflated price of $1.9 billion.

Kroll Security At The World Trade Center

Kroll Associates was responsible for "revamping security at the World Trade Center after the 1993 terrorist bombing," Douglas Frantz of the New York Times reported in 1994. This is a crucial point because those who controlled security at the WTC are prime suspects in the demolition of the Twin Towers. It was directly into the computer room of Marsh (Kroll) USA in the North Tower that the first plane struck, or was precision-guided, on 9/11. The light orange flame and whitish smoke that exploded out of burning computer room of Marsh USA are indicative of a Thermate reaction. Burning jet fuel produces darker orange flames and blackish smoke.

John O'Neill, the former chief of counterterrorism with the FBI, who had investigated Al Qaida, was the head of security for the World Trade Center complex, and was killed on his first day of work on 9/11. O'Neill had been appointed to this position by the managing director of the Kroll security company, Jerome M. Hauer. Kroll evidently continued to manage security for the WTC complex from 1993 until 9/11. 

Prior to joining Kroll, Hauer, a Zionist Jew, was the director of Mayor Giuliani's Office of Emergency Management (OEM), where he had been the driving force to have the OEM command bunker built in Larry Silverstein's 47-story WTC 7, the tower which fell into its footprint at 5:21 p.m. on 9/11. 

Israeli Security At The Port Authority

Being in charge of security at the twin towers was obviously crucial to the 9/11 operation. The explosive charges and Thermite that evidently demolished the three towers could not have been placed in the buildings without the perpetrators having complete control of security. [Bollyn points out that Israeli’s attempted to gain control of security in 1987, but were rebuffed upon discovery of these particular Israeli’s connection to criminality.]

Who is Zvi Malkin?

Peter Malkin (a.k.a. Zvi Malchin or Milchman) was born in Polandin 1928 and raised in British-occupied Palestine during the mandate period. At age twelve, Malkin joined the Haganah, the Zionist underground militia. In 1950, he joined the Shin Bet, the Israeli security agency. He became an explosives specialist and was known as a master of disguises. Malkin preferred international work and became chief of operations for the Israeli intelligence agency, the Mossad. "During foreign postings, Malkin posed as an artist," his March 3, 2005, obituary in the New York Sun said. 

A very young Malkin "retired" as head of operations of the Mossad in 1976 and moved to New York, where he worked as "a security consultant" and "posed as an artist." His "security consultant" work clearly involved brokering the security contract for the Port Authority and the World Trade Center - for the Mossad.

Plutonium Smugglers

The Washington Post revealed the serious nature of the crimes Malkin, Shalom, and Eitan had been involved in when it reported in 1986 that Rafi Eitan, posing as a chemist, had travelled in 1968 to the Pennsylvania nuclear processing plant that secretly diverted several hundred kilograms of weapons-grade uranium to Israel. A declassified FBI document shows that another Israeli, "Abraham Bendor, department of electronics," accompanied Eitan on that trip. 

Malkin and the same Avraham Bendor were later named as the senior Israeli intelligence agents who obtained the security contract for the World Trade Center in 1987, only to lose the contract when Bendor's criminal past was discovered. 

Rebuffed in 1987, the Mossad team of Malkin and Shalom didn't give up on Isser Harel's prophecy of 9/11, which meant getting the Port Authority security contract. They simply changed tack and decided to work in a less obvious manner, through dedicated and corrupt American Zionists like Jules Kroll and Maurice Greenberg. Shalom went to work for Kroll, according to the online 9/11 Encyclopedia entry for Maurice "Hank" Greenberg, the CEO of the American International Group (A.I.G.) insurance company. 

Messrs Malkin, Eitan, and Abe Shalom/Ben-Dor crop up frequently in Miami in the 1980s and 1990s...

Amazingly, a "Rafi Eitan" and "Abe Shalom" even shared the same address in Miami in the 1990s. An "Abe Shalom" also shared a Miami address at 19707 Turnberry Way with a Morris (and Lillian) Saffati, a name very similar to that of the Miami-based Israeli agent who sold weapons to the Medellin drug cartel, Maurice (and Ilana) Sarfati, a.k.a. Moshe Tzorfati. "Abe Shalom" also lived in Deal, New Jersey, near Lillian Saffati, the wife of Morris. Are these the tracks of the culprits or mere coincidences? 

Through Avraham Shalom Ben-Dor, Kroll Associates bought Palumbo Partners, the Miami-based international security firm in August 1992, reportedly "to expand in key Latin American markets."

"According to sources in the industry, Palumbo brought with him a personal history of involvement with the Medellin and other South American narcotics cartels; his business included helping relocate some of the capabilities of these cartels out of Colombia," the 9/11 Encyclopedia says. "The deal to bring Palumbo into Kroll was worked out by Avram Shalom, the former head of Israel's Shin Bet secret police," the 9/11 Encyclopedia says, without documenting the claim. 

In 1993, Maurice Greenberg became a partner and co-owner of Jules Kroll's company when A.I.G. bought twenty percent of Kroll. Greenberg is very close to Henry Kissinger, who became chairman of A.I.G.'s International Advisory Board in 1987. 

Jules Kroll is connected with the 9/11 players Kenneth Bialkin and Larry Silverstein through the Citizens Budget Commission of New York. Kroll's wife, Lynn Korda Kroll, the Vice Chairman of the United Jewish Appeal (UJA) Federation of New York, is likewise connected to Silverstein, a national chairman of the UJA, the biggest fund-raising organization for the State of Israel. 

Maurice Greenberg and Jules Kroll are connected to the key players of 9/11 in so many ways that their connections would fill a book. For the purpose of this chapter, however, there are a few key connections that need to be underlined: 

• Maurice Greenberg and Jules Kroll became partners in 1993, the same year Kroll Associates "was chosen over three other companies to advise the Port Authority on a redesign of its security procedures." "We have such confidence in them that I have followed every one of their recommendations," Stanley Brezenoff, the Port Authority executive director, told the New York Times in 1994. 

• Kroll controlled security at the World Trade Center complex in 2001 and was responsible for hiring John O'Neill, the former chief of counterterrorism for the FBI, who died on 9/11, reportedly his first day on the new job. 

• Greenberg's son, Jeffrey W. Greenberg, became CEO of Marsh & McLennan (MMC) in 1999 and chairman in 2000. The first plane of 9/11 flew directly into the secure computer room of Marsh (Kroll) USA, part of Greenberg's company. Mark Wood, an eyewitness, said: "It looked like a mid-sized executive jet and the way it turned suggested it was being aimed deliberately at a target." 

Lewis "Jerry" Bremer, the U.S. proconsul who ran occupied Iraq until the end of June 2004, joined Marsh Kroll's crisis group shortly after 9/11. Bremer had worked closely with Kissinger since the 1970s and was managing director at Kissinger Associates in 2001. 

• Jerome M. Hauer, the former director of Mayor Giuliani's Office of Emergency Management, was responsible for having the command bunker built in Larry Silverstein's WTC 7. Hauer was a managing director for Kroll in 2001. 

• Kroll revamped security at the World Trade Center after the 1993 terrorist bombing. Kroll was reportedly responsible for security at the World Trade Center on 9/11. "Over the last two years, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has paid Kroll $2.5 million to overhaul security at the World Trade Center and evaluate procedures at the agency's bridges, tunnels and airports," the New York Times reported on September 1, 1994. 

Kroll was hired by Kuwait in October 1990 to find the hidden wealth of Saddam Hussein.

Kroll & The Challenge Fund

The Challenge Fund is an Israeli intelligence funding operation, based in Israel and also known as Etgar, which means "challenge" in Hebrew. This limited partnership involves the biggest players in the Zionist funding network in North America with the most senior officers in Israeli military intelligence. 

The Challenge Fund was founded in July 1995. A second fund, The Challenge Fund - Etgar II L.P., was established in 1999.
