The 'Fishy' Fairford Base 'Explosives' Event

UP-DATE: The story gets more bizarre and the explanations more contorted - as I expected! The Express reports as follows: "The suspected bomb plot against RAF Fairford was foiled after one of the suspects called the police themselves, it has been reported. One of the five men reportedly dialled 999 in the early hours of Sunday before they were arrested in the village of Whelford, close to the base. 

It is understood that the material found was not viable explosives, The five suspects are a 24-year-old from Camden, north London; three men aged 23, 24 and 25 from Westminster, central London, and one aged 24 from Willesden, north-west London. 

Gloucestershire Constabulary was initially alerted to three suspicious vans travelling towards RAF Fairford at 12.45am on Sunday, Local female farmer called 999  at 1.36am, after seeing masked men and armed police arrived about 10 minutes later. 

Now! Five men arrested  may have been conducting a “dry run”. UK Counter Terror Police have issued an update on their investigation surrounding an alleged terrorist plot at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire. A quantity of petrol was discovered inside the vans that triggered a major security alert near a US-operated RAF base, but police confirmed that no explosive devices were found during their searches.  ".    " RAF Fairford 'terror bomb plot' was foiled after suspect 'called police themselves' | UK | News | Express.co.uk

In recent weeks and months, I have noticed the unusual and distinctive deep rumblings of large jets flying east. 

I assume they are American military jets flying into Fairford, possibly with nuclear and other weapons on board, part of the on-going hostilities in Ukraine and Iran. (Of course I could be wrong)

 

We do not need to dwell on the dangers of the current global situation nor of Britain's part in it. Suffice it to say, in that old and trusted aphorism, "the lunatics are clearly in charge of the mad-house"! Britain it seems is at war with Russia without declaring it so. That seems to be the modern option. Not that that has stopped Russia making a direct threat of a nuclear attack if Britain and NATO do not stop its aggression. 

Sky TV has apparently thrown petrol on the flames by airing a fictional war cabinet game show with Lord Michael Gove in the chair. It is in this context, that news of a 'terrorist' plot to cause explosions at the RAF base in the Cotswolds, also used by the Americans. became public. However there are a number of strange elements to the story that raise questions as to its genuineness or even if this was in fact, a botched 'False Flag'.

This is how the London Evening Standard reported the events as they unfurled:

March 1 – Sir Keir Starmer, then British prime minister, announces that the UK had agreed to a US request to use RAF Fairford, the country’s largest airbase, to launch defensive strikes on Iran.

July 23 – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps says UK airbases being used by the US are ‘legitimate targets’.

September 1-25 — Locals living in the villages surrounding RAF Fairford reportedly notice increased security around the military site. Heavy machinery and concrete bollards are said to be placed at gated entrances to the airbase. Plain-clothed police were spotted in the area.

Saturday, September 26 – A person walking their dog early on Saturday evening in the vicinity of the airbase is stopped by armed police and told to return home, they later tell the BBC.

Sunday, September 27, 12.45am – Gloucestershire Police receive first report of three suspicious white vans travelling towards RAF Fairford.

September 27, 1am – a farmer from Whelford, a village near RAF Fairford, is driving home from a party along quiet rural roads when she comes across three vans blocking the path to her farm. Turning around, she later reports seeing “a large group of hooded and masked men” at a nearby junction before they quickly disperse.

September 27, 1.36am – After a failed attempt to contact the Ministry of Defence police, the anonymous farmer phones 999 to alert Gloucestershire Police. She is said to post in the local residents’ WhatsApp group that "something very odd is going on in the village”.

September 27, approximately 1.46am – Armed officers, backed up by a police helicopter, surround the vans, arresting five men only 300m from the base’s perimeter. They are detained under the Explosives Act.

September 27, AM– Gloucestershire Police declares a major incident. A 400m security cordon is established around the vans and Army bomb disposal units are deployed.

September 27, AM – More than 80 households in Whelford are evacuated.

September 27, 2.45pm – Counter-terrorism policing announces they are leading the investigation. The five men are also arrested on suspicion of preparing a terrorist act.

September 27, PM – US President Donald Trump says suspects had been “under view for a long time”, claiming they had been looking to cause "big damage" to the US-operated facility.

Monday, September 28, 1.22pm – In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), Iran’s London embassy says it “categorically rejects” what it calls “malicious speculation” about the country’s involvement in Sunday’s events in the Cotswolds. END EVENING STANDARD ARTICLE.

STRANGE FEATURES (TTV)

First, if the three suspicious vans approaching the base "were known to the police" early Sunday morning, why weren't they stopped and investigated prior to a 999 call?

Second, the female farmer who came upon the masked men and vans at 1 am whilst driving home did the right thing and phoned the base security. Despite being on a 'Delta; state of high alert, they didn't answer or respond. Really??

Third, she then phoned '999' (911 in America) and got through to Gloucestershire police who did respond with armed police and helicopter, arresting five men, seemingly of eastern origin.  Bomb explosive experts were also called in and eighty homes evacuated so the threat must have been considered real enough.

Fourth, incredibly, given the seriousness of the intended crime, all five were released on police bail within hours. This is not normal or sensible. No explanation has been given for this quite inexplicable investigative decision. Was it to discover links to a wider network or was it because of political or other secret service intervention?

Fifth, Wes Streeting the new Defense Secretary refused to be drawn on whether or not Government secret agencies were aware of the plot in advance. The fact that the site was on lock down the day before suggests they knew something was up. 

Sixth, fore-knowledge! "Residents living near RAF Fairford say they were told to stay indoors hours before police received a call about an alleged foiled bomb plot – with one claiming they were told an attack was about to happen.

The Independent has seen messages from a WhatsApp residents’ group chat showing that, shortly before 6pm on Saturday, one resident claimed to be told by armed officers there was intelligence over an “imminent” attack. Seventh, Suspiciously, Trump made a statement immediately after the arrests, suggesting they were fully aware in advance.  Then on Monday night (September 28) Secretary of State Marco Rubio claimed to Fox News that a "foreign actor" was involved.   All of which poses the question, was this allowed or even organised by those agencies (American and British apropos Skripal) to provide a classical 'False Flag', in order to blame either Russia or Iran and provide yet another excuse for bombing raids abroad?

As I posted above, we have every reason to regard this incident as a very 'fishy' Fairford 'terrorist' event! TTV.

I spent over two decades in counterterrorism and I’m still involved in many ways, so here are my views on what I see has happened over the past 24-36 hours in the UK: Five British men in their twenties were arrested on Sunday near RAF Fairford on suspicion of explosives offences and the preparation of a terrorist act. On Monday they were released on police bail. That’s not what the terrorism clock looks like when the investigators are still in charge of it. Under ordinary UK criminal law a suspect can be held for 24 hours, stretched to 36 by a superintendent, and to 96 hours by a magistrate. But under section 41 of the Terrorism Act the first hold is 48 hours, not 24 hours. A judge can then extend it, in stages, up to 14 days without a charge. If the case merits it, it can even be pushed to 28 days. That 14-day cap exists for exactly this kind of file of vans, an airbase the United States uses, a possible foreign hand, explosives (if there were any) and interviews that are not finished on the first night. Counter-terrorism police said the inquiry isn’t over. They said conditions apply. They said a state link has not been ruled out. Those sentences he said only make sense if the evidence trail was still live. A live trail is why Parliament built the two-week window. But watching the guy read out the statement showed me in his body language, tone and eye movements that releasing those five men was NOT his or his department’s decision. Walking five men after roughly a day is what you do with a pub fight, not with a suspected terrorist attack on a bomber base. I’ve sat in enough interrogation rooms to know the difference between a custody clock and a political ceiling. Nobody had to shout an order down a phone. Someone in the political building above the investigators decided that charging British nationals on Monday, with Iran already denying it, Washington watching the runway, and a Labour conference where the main topics of discussion were prioritizing Palestinian and other refugees settling in the UK, was uglier than bail and a holding statement. The law allowed them to keep the door shut. Yet the door opened anyway in half of the most minimum time. That’s the story. That for me is the only story here. Not “they were innocent.” Not “the case collapsed.” The statute was not exhausted, but the appetite was. The real question is who, and most importantly, why?

CONTEXT: If reports that RAF Fairford is currently at FPCON Delta are accurate, this is extremely unusual in Europe. In 2024, several US bases across Europe were raised to Charlie - one level below Delta - and US officials said they hadn’t seen even that level in at least a decade. Delta is the highest force-protection level, used when an attack has occurred nearby or intelligence indicates an imminent threat against a specific location. I can verify that Ramstein went to Delta after 9/11 in 2001. So far, I haven’t been able to find a more recent publicly documented real-world example at a US base in Europe. If anyone knows of one, please send it my way.

Spotters at Fairford this week have noted that security measures at the base are significantly increased compared with the last 7-8 months. Reports say FPCON Delta is current at Fairford, and FPCON Charlie is now in place at Lakenheath & possibly Mildenhall...

A group of Muslim terrorists have been caught in act about to blow up soldiers at RAF Fairford which is used by American troops. Only 24hrs after police told me I was a target too. And the Prime Minister sits on the BBC calling Danny Tommo a racist. This is England 2026.
