Starmer shot down in flames?

A warning from whom?

Background

Sir Kier Starmer's political problems appear to be mounting. I am spoilt by a profusion of metaphors that lend themselves, including the one above. 'He's on the ropes,' 'He's heading for the meat grinder,' 'He's heading up a blind alley,' all spring to mind. They are just a few of many but I somehow I doubt he can survive the latest of his troubles: three fires and three Ukrainian suspects of dubious reputation, if the circumstances surrounding them, turn out to accord with what everyone already suspects.

Few politicians, particularly prominent ones, can survive a sexual scandal, either in the short or long term, if or when it becomes public knowledge. John Profumo and Jeremy Thorpe immediately spring to mind but of course there have been many more including the recent one of Matt Hancock. Conversely, others with long-standing imbroglios have been protected. Into which category they have fallen, owes much to the dark arts and shady affiliations.

It is likely that there is an army - quite possibly literally - of people currently looking into and weighing the best course of action to keep damage to a minimum. The outcome of these deliberations will determine the fate of Mr Starmer much more than he can actively say or do. At this time he is wholly at the command of others but it doesn't seem to me that he can last long unless the whole business can be effectively buried with a convincing ruse.

At his last public appearance he appeared distinctly ill at ease and robotic. The dearth of information on the Internet and in the media about the incidents and alleged perpatrators of the fires, suggests manipulators - including the possibility of the so-called 'D Notices' - may be at work.

The Arson Events

The three incidents of arson; the common factor of Starmer; the background of the three suspects; other contiguous events; the way it has been handled, all intrigue and raise questions. The reported time-line is as follows:

May 8th 2025. Car once belonging to Sir Kier and sold to a neighbour some time before (not revealed) destroyed by fire in a street on NW5 deliberately caused, presumably using an eccelerant such as petrol.

May 11th 2025 fire at the entrance of a property in N7 (Holloway, and part of Barnsbury, Islington, and Tufnell Park)

Monday 12th May, 2025 at 01:35hrs, police were alerted by the London Fire Brigade to reports of a fire at a residential address in NW5. (Kentish Town, Tufnell Park, Dartmouth Park, and parts of Gospel Oak)

These two properties in North London, were either where he had lived in the past or what he owned and now rented to his sister since taking up residence at 10 Downing Street. Official vagueness - i.e. secrecy - surrounds the precise details and addresses. Both of these fires were extinguished before doing permanent damage to property or people.

It seems the car, no longer belonging to Starmer, was the first to be targeted. Then three and four days later the more serious property arson attempts. Were the second and third fires an escalation because the first had not achieved its desired effect, whatever that may have been, or to ensure such notoriety the events would not be overlooked by the media?

How were Ukrainians in the know?

Of course the question is, if the named persons were responsible, how three Ukrainian 'models', living some distance away in other parts of London, could have possibly known intimate details of properties connected to Sir Kier, particularly as he no longer owned the car, nor resided in either of the properties for some significant passage of time?

Had they gained that knowledge from personal aquaintance with him? (If so, such an unlikely association would call for an explanation) Or had they been tasked by some individual or organisation in possession of the relatively confidential information?

Either way, given the security implications and the possibility of threat or coercion of a British Prime Minister, not only the police but the country needs to know. So far no explanation has been forthcoming.

Appropriate charges?

Another rather strange facet to the story is that despite anti-terrorism police taking charge of the case, terrorism charges have not been preferred and instead it has been treated as just another arson event, almost on a par with regular vandalism.

In parallel there has been a dearth of the sort of background investigation by newspapers one might expect.

Is this from choice or as a result of direction from prosecuting authorities and government? As we all know Sir Kier was the Director of the Crown Prosecution Service from 2008 to 2014.

Russian Involvement?

Belatedly on the 24th May, 'Senior Whitehall Officials' let it be known to newspapers, that possible links between the three accused Ukrainians and 'Russian operatives' were being investigated, the clear implications being this was a Russian operation along the lines of Novichok in Salisbury in 2018 and earlier ones targeting Russian dissidents.

Russia was not slow in repudiating the suggestion. Objectively, it would seem strange and unlikely that Russia would ostensibly use people from the opposite side in its current war. Wouldn't Ukraine itself or its backers, be the bigger suspect if States were involved? Again, the question is why was Russia floated? It appears an obvious ruse.

No coincidence!

Nevertheless, the fact that all three accused were born in Ukraine and had immigrated into Britain; and all three targets for the fires had obvious connections to Starmer, cannot be coincidental. It strongly suggests intent and conspiracy of a high order. The motivation, however remains a mystery. If it did involve sexual services, only failure to pay or blackmail, would suggest themselves as possible causes for such a public display.

The final possibility is that other political or covert agencies have somehow persuaded these three, if indeed it was them, to act in such a way to undermine and publicly humiliate the Prime Minister to undermine him and bring him down. Suggestions of likely candidate on a postcard to ....

If the proverbial 'Secret Services' of any country were involved, the following incidents might be seen as not unrelated:

Ukrainian Assassination in Spain

Wed 21st May, 2025: In Madrid a former leading Ukrainian official, Andriy Portnov, 51 was shot dead outside an American school in the Pozuelo de Alarcón area of the city at about 09:15 local time (07:15 GMT)

Portnov had been an MP and deputy head in the administration of Viktor Yanukovych, the pro-Russian President in 2014. (Many date the present war to his ousting by the CIA) He had previously been an MP in Yulia Tymoshenko's governing party, but switched to Yanukovych's team when he won the presidential election in 2010. He left Ukraine after the revolution only to return in 2019 after Volodymyr Zelensky was elected president.

He then left Ukraine again, and in 2021 was sanctioned by the US Treasury, which said he had been "widely known as a court fixer" who had taken steps to control the judiciary and undermine reform efforts.

Clearly, the chief suspect behind this assassination are Ukrainian or Ukrainian-supporting secret agencies in the business of hiring trained killers and deploying them for political or military objectives. Whether it is linked in sme way to the Starmer incidents is an open question.

Are the British involved in Portnov's murder? The British special services may be involved in the murder of the former assistant to Yanukovich. Three Ukrainians who were detained in the UK for arson of property belonging to Keir Starmer give up Portnov's address and contacts, after which he was killed in Spain.

Car Ramming Incident in Liverpool

On 26 May 2025, a motorist drove a grey Ford Galaxy into a crowd on Water St., Liverpool, during a victory parade to celebrate Liverpool's 24/25 Premier League title win. Seventy-nine people were injured; fifty people were taken to hospital, including four children. A 53 year old ex Royal Marine, Paul Doyle, was arrested and charged for the incident. Again whether this was an event organised to detract and distract from the Starmer case no one knows but it cannot be ruled out.

The alleged Starmer arsonists as follows:

Roman Lavrynovych, 21.

Lavrynovych is an aspiring model from Ukraine, living in Sydenham, south London, was charged about a week after the event, with three counts of arson with intent to endanger life.

Petro Pochynok, 34.

Pochynok from Holloway, north London, describes himself online as a fashion entrepreneur, is charged with conspiring with his two co-defendants, as well as “with others unknown”, to commit arson.

Stanislav Carpiuc, 26,

Carpiuc is another 'aspiring model' and is a Russian-speaking Romanian citizen born in Ukraine. He was charged with conspiracy to commit arson with intent to endanger life.

Personal View

No doubt more back ground information will emerge with time unless it is blocked. My personal view is that the incident will prove the final nail in Starmer's political career unless it is in the interests of the secret state to keep him where he is, effectively at the mercy of whoever is party to personal information of the persons involved.
