We believe what is now unfolding can be compared to Thomas Mann's brilliant novel 'Der Zauberberg'. The hero of it, Hans Castorp, suffering from TB, resides in the comfortable bubble of a mountain health resort, isolated from the outside world. We are now living in a crucial moment in the history of mankind. It is of vital importance to have an understanding of what is now unfolding in order to be able to influence the outcome. Fortunately, the number of people who are aware is growing but needs to expand if disastrous consequences to humanity are to be avoided in the next few years. We have found information suggesting that there are reasons behind government measures and that unchallenged, a covert plan is being wheeled out on an unsuspecting public. We have witnessed the formation of multiple separate groups that, although having insight, are insular, so that general awareness is limited, which we are trying here to correct.
People differ in their interpretations of what is needed. Some see Donald Trump as a hero, another sees him as a villain. We take the view that it doesn't really matter, because it only obscures the more important issue. Contentious issues such as ‘chem-trails’, the ‘Illuminati’, 9-11, ‘Qanon’, are similarly secondary. This is about joining forces on the basis of common ground. People need to subsume their differences in order to unite against the common enemy.
CORONAVIRUS CASE STUDY
At least deep down, everyone will have a feeling that there is something strange about the uniform measures that many governments have taken worldwide.

Isn’t it striking, too, that none of the government advice deals with things like healthy nutrition, vitamins such a 'C and D, enough exercise, doing things that bring joy, etc., known to reinforce the essential human immune system? And isn’t it strange that such news doesn’t appear in the mainstream media?
Obviously, all of the above-mentioned measures have considerable negative side effects. It is only logical that these could have been predicted and planned for, but despite detailed legislation, the general impression was one of panic and chaos.
People will recall the attacks of 9/11 were said by leading politicians to have been 'completely unforeseeable' and could not have been predicted, despite previous attacks of a similar kind that exercises had anticipated. In similar vein, governments have demonstrated unpreparedness (absence of PPE, testing equipment, immigrant testing and control etc) for the Coronavirus outbreak, despite clear evidence of pre-dating anticipation.
Some examples of the specific expectation of a Coronavirus pandemic follow. The content and timing of these events and documents either display extraordinary prescience, or god forbid the sort of planning with numerous other so-called unexpected 'terrorist events'.

It had has its origins in the 2014 Ebola outbreak in West Africa but convened the first meeting on 10th Sept, 2018. Event 201 was a 3.5-hour pandemic tabletop exercise that simulated response to a hypothetical, but scientifically plausible, pandemic.Similar to the Center’s 3 previous exercises—Clade X, Dark Winter, and Atlantic Storm—Event 201 aimed to educate senior leaders at the highest level of US and international governments and leaders in global industries.
"The next severe pandemic will not only cause great illness and loss of life but could also trigger major cascading economic and societal consequences that could contribute greatly to global impact and suffering. The Event 201 pandemic exercise, conducted on October 18, 2019, vividly demonstrated a number of these important gaps in pandemic preparedness as well as some of the elements of the solutions between the public and private sectors that will be needed to fill them. The Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, World Economic Forum, and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation organised the event and jointly proposed these recommendations."
It cannot escape notice how the Gates Foundation keeps cropping up whenever pandemic or vaccination programmes are considered, not to mention tracking technology. Imperial College London, whose Ferguson models predicted 500,000 UK deaths, had apparently been the beneficiary of over £200 million in Gates Foundation grants.

I've always learned that the means must sacred the end. A mosquito won't kill you with a rocket launcher. When I look at the figures of the RIVM and the intended purpose of the law, I see no reason to use these far-reaching, freedom restrictive means and understand the critical attitude of the advisory parties (see above).
I also find it incomprehensible that this law was not discussed during the press conference of Wednesday 5 June. There was mainly talk about ′′ the large package of relaxation ", as Rutte calls it, not about this emergency law, which is a large rule and penalty increase for an indefinite period.

This article explains that the coronavirus bill app confers arbitrary detention powers to the police, immigration officers and public-health officials.
They can detain and isolate ‘potentially’ infectious people.
Any member of the public, including children, could be forcibly detained, isolated, quarantined in an as yet unidentified location. It also enables authorities to forcibly take biological samples from people for testing.
Now let's combine this information with the fact that Matt Hancock wants to mandate the track and trace app and let me paint you a picture.
It's September.... "the second wave" of a virus that has only killed 350 people under 65 with no other morbidities in the UK hits...Again (Or at least the BBC tells you it has)... The app becomes mandatory. It alerts them that you are "potentially infectious"... And you need to be quarantined away from your family. You know, for safety.
That "as yet unidentified location" that they refer to? I'd place a bet that that's when the Nightingale centre suddenly starts getting used.

ReplyDeleteLast night stupidly, in my haste to turn off the BBC rubbish, I went to bed, completely forgetting to fuel the Rayburn. So now the fire has gone out. The fire has gone out. It has died on me and there is no coming back from the dead. So as we await the threatened thunder storms, we remain fire-less and un-warmed for the summer months. I woke at 4.30 and read Primo Levi's "If not now when", so that's one in the eye for "Cornwall Anti-Semitism Watch" - just another bunch of anonymous intimidatory bullies, who use personal insults and lies to try and prevent any condemnation of Israel and its inhumane violence. Uniquely it seems, Israel is the one country in the world beyond criticism, and government and institutions are prepared to jettison our own hard-one freedoms in support of the unsupportable, of which BLM is just another iteration. Meanwhile a rudderless, captain-less government just runs before the storm, issuing ever more ridiculous edits as to whom you can or cannot meet or do on the pretext of the misrepresented dangers from a flu bug. The motives for which are both ulterior and sinister. I doubt however even they or it will think twice before trying to implement the 'social distancing' rules on the celebrating Liverpool fans. I predict that neither the packed beaches or packed roads around Anfield will lead to a spike in Coronavirus deaths, the implications of which will hopefully speed the end to the bureaucratic nonsense and a return to an element of rational common sense and normality.

Tim Veater Dom Lowe Although of absolutely no significance to anyone but myself, if I had to categorise my worldview, it would be as a 'christian humanist'. We are all grounded in a past, and mine is Christian but I associate myself with no recognised 'church' and can see defects in all of them. This does not blind me to their positive aspects either, both in individual lives and society more generally. It would be a blinkered view that does not recognise in the cultural history of man, the beneficial consequences of belief systems, that have had the effect of limiting the untrammelled forces of human nature, of civilising a life described by Thomas Hobbes as "nasty, brutish and short", or by Tennyson as "nature, red in tooth and claw". Other's have referred to this as 'the law of the jungle', and we still see evidences of it today. In such a system only power and force, devoid of morality and law, reign supreme. We have witnessed the disastrous results of ditching law and morality, in recent history and are in danger of doing so again. Human society cannot function without them and they spring from philosophical and religious underpinnings. Atheists as demonstrated, whilst decrying religious belief as unnecessary and irrational, hold to a moral code that is impossible to disentangle from its cultural roots. Would that have been possible without the religious influence over the centuries? For the Christian, the roots of belief and action are grounded in the life and words - significantly described as 'the word' - of Jesus, which I doubt can ever be bettered or improved upon, as a lodestone for life, whether achieved or not. This is not to deny there were pre-Christian societies that appear to have functioned quite adequately. Whether the world is better or worse for Christianity being superimposed is open to debate. One of those 'what if?' questions that can never really be resolved. However in the personal context, in the short time allotted to us, it is down to everyone to come to an opinion on whether there is a mysterious and spiritual dimension that can be experienced. We may lay claim to a materialist, non-religious view of our lives and of the world around us, and survive quite happily but I wonder when it comes to the crunch, how many are truly free of a sense of the mystical and transcendental, that goes beyond the scientifically explicable, or are we to ridicule all such as childish superstition?

For all those who say 'Don't knock religion it brings comfort to many' - we need to lead by example and ditch this mediaeval crap
Dom Lowe Tim yes, I get that throughout the ages religion has helped lots of people in numerous ways but in the 57 years that I’ve been lucky enough to walk around, observe and enjoy this planet and it’s occupants - things have changed, overwhelmingly.
ReplyDeleteWe know every inch of this earth, we’ve visited several other planets around us and we know how they were formed. We know how and when the first amoeba appeared and grew, we can prove how homo sapiens developed from apes and the lineage of dinosaurs and all living things from the dawn of time.
That information alone pretty much resigns the bible and qur'an to the scrapheap.
I rarely let my personal thoughts on religion out on FB these days, I’ve done enough of that in the past, been praised and at the same time admonished for it so this post wasn’t ridiculing anyone it was just highlighting that whilst all the Hyacinth Bouquets wrapped up in their cosy home county lives keep a perfectly acceptable residual faith in the lord our God and one true master, there are actually hundreds of thousands if not millions of people on the planet who are discriminated against, beaten and even killed by those supporting the same and other religions. It is time for us to let go of these ridiculous belief systems and accept the fact that whilst they may make some feel better they have always and still are causing unimaginable pain to many and the world would be a better place without them.
My utopia would be a world bereft of deities who insist and enjoy the way we grovel and worship them, a world of peace free from discrimination in any form, a world where everyone is kind to everyone and everything and we all accept that we have just one life and are so amazingly lucky to have it and this astoundingly beautiful and diverse planet on which to enjoy it which we should treasre together for all the future generations for as long as we are able.
Here endeth the lesson that I’ve learned :)

Tim Veater I can go along with most, if not all, of that Dom with certain reservations. For example do you think a world without religion would be a world without war and discrimination - or even less of it? Does religion encourage the human tendency to violence or inhibit it? Or is it coincidence that the age of atheism has seen more death and destruction than ever before? I am not quite so sure all the physical mysteries of the world and universe have been solved as you suggest. In fact as I mentioned the evolutionary model suggested by Darwin has been disproved by modern genetic science, so we are still pretty much in the dark as to where humans came from and organic life in general. The theories are at base not much more than speculation. Same goes for the start (if there was one!) of the universe itself. Even if there was a 'Big Bang' in which everything was created from nothing (!) no one has a clue where the 'nothing' came from - if that's not a contradiction of terms. Then Quantum Theory suggests an unsolvable paradox at the centre of everything: predictable unpredictability! However far science looks, more questions are posed. It is the unreachable mysterious horizon. Yet there is an order that is universal. Amazingly the physical and chemical laws that have been discovered can be applied to the farthest star. I see no reason why it should be harder to believe in a personal God, than to believe in the scientific world as we see it. Both involve a belief in the miraculous and I am not sure one is any less miraculous than the other.
