Dennis Stout, a Vietnam war veteran, reports on his orders to "kill every living thing" and other brutal, unwarranted acts on non-combatant civilians, referred to only as 'Gooks' to meet army targets.
Fifty eight thousand young Americans and several million Vietnamese died in that pointless conflict on the back of the assassination of Kennedy and effectively a Johnson-led Coup d'etat.
Were the wars in Iraq any better or different? Is the US foreign policy and action in Syria and against Iran a never ending repetition of the same mistake?
